Surviving the Death of a Spouse
hubpages.com — "If you're going through hell, keep going." -- Winston Churchill Linda Palucci, widow of Eugene Palucci, did just that when she lost her husband to a brain tumor and cancer on March 21, 1992 after a long, desperate struggle. She went through Hell, yes, but she kept going.

- blagger2blogger, on 07/24/2008, -0/+2A very heartwarming story about a brave and wonderful lady
- stevinium, on 07/25/2008, -0/+2I lost my wife of 20 years, 4 years ago at the age of 40, and it still hurts. But life goes on and you must move forward.
- billtorpey, on 07/25/2008, -0/+1I feel the same way, stevinium. My wife of 45 years died on Oct. 14, 2004. Linda's story is the story of millions of us, survivors, and we all try to cope as best we can. Linda is far more open about her emotions and reactions than I could ever be, but, it's certainly true, life must to go on.
- Jesus2007, on 07/25/2008, -0/+2Losing someone after 45 years is heart-wringing - or after even just one year. OSU President Gordon Gee lost his wife to cancer just after his first tour as preseidnt in the early 1990s. He remarriedm, but he has not been the same since his first wife's dath. His second wife divorced him while they served at another school and he returned to OSU in 2007. Now his daughter was severely injured in a motor cysle accident 2 weeks ago and his son-in-law is in a coma and lies near death. What horror he must be going through, but he has faith and talks about it often.
Thanks for the article. - billtorpey, on 07/26/2008, -0/+1All of us must face these crises at some time in our lives, Jesus2007, but Gordon Gee obviously has been hit harder than most. How we cope with what is thrust upon us is handled differently, not doubt, by each of us. But sometimes the experience and help of others who have gone through similar crises before us can help soften the blow -- just a little. Thanks for commenting.
