- iidoxe, on 06/17/2009, -0/+177Dugg. I live in Iran and these little things are all we really have left. The government controls everything. We went on the streets and protested. Not to have something cool to tell our buddies about but because we are worried about our future. These people you see are risking their lives. All it takes is just one photo of you for the government to be able to track you down and drag you off to prison.
I've already replied on digg 3 times today. I'm getting in some pretty deep ***** but I'm ready to accept the consequences. The reason? I still see some misinformed people here who are willing to accept the government's bull ***** about the election being fair. The election was a farce and if 2 million people on the street doesn't convince you nothing will.
Or maybe this will: As the ballots were 'counted' during the night on friday, the ratio of ahmadinejad's votes to mousavi's votes were always EXACTLY 1.88 . The government doesn't even know how to lie convincingly. - gsadamb, on 06/17/2009, -2/+137This is the best cause for Anon yet.
- Xihix, on 06/17/2009, -2/+88Well Anonymous, it seems that you have moved on from protesting Scientology to aiding in the overthrowing of governments.
- LurkingObesity, on 06/17/2009, -0/+75Nah. Just multi-tasking.
- Bapho, on 06/17/2009, -2/+70We're still protesting Scientology actually.

11am:
The man who leaked the real election results from the Interior Ministry - the ones showing Ahmadinejad coming third - was killed in a suspicious car accident, according to unconfirmed reports, writes Saeed Kamali Dehghan in Tehran.
Mohammad Asgari, who was responsible for the security of the IT network in Iran's interior ministry, was killed yesterday in Tehran.
Asgari had reportedly leaked results that showed the elections were rigged by government use of new software to alter the votes from the provinces.
Asgari was said to have leaked information that showed Mousavi had won almost 19 million votes, and should therefore be president.
We will try to get more details later. - afs97209, on 06/17/2009, -0/+40Help cover the bloggers in Iran. If you had not joined Twitter, go do it. Then change your twitter settings so that your location is TEHRAN and your time zone is GMT +3.30. Security forces are hunting for bloggers in Iran using location and timezone searches. If we all become ‘Iranians’ it becomes much harder to find them.
- ElijahMeeks, on 06/17/2009, -0/+38I don't care who ran the election, people should be allowed to protest and communicate without getting shot or beaten.

- anonymousmedic, on 06/17/2009, -0/+15For great justice, Anonymous!
Every news report and analysis in the west is pointing out irregularities and inaccuracies in the way this "Election" was performed.
I guess the people aren't going to take it any more. - mattfasl, on 06/17/2009, -8/+22Good cause. ***** song.
- burningmanstan, on 06/17/2009, -0/+14Before anyone starts posting again about how the "supreme leader" Khamenei "has all the power" I would like to point out that the Iranian govt. is much more complex than that. The BBC has a good summary of the complexity of the Iranian govt. [1] The 86 members of the Assembly of Experts [2] has ultimate say over the fate of the election and the future of Khamenei and everyone else involved. These members of the Assembly of Experts don't always get along and they are all veterans of the revolution. Khamenei was president in the 1980s when Mousavi was prime minister. There are disagreements between these ideologically driven survivors of the original revolution and the Iran-Iraq war. The Iranian govt. is not a monolithic entity like China or North Korea. The details of the current infighting among these guys is probably too complex for even Iranian experts to understand completely. This does not necessarily mean that Khamenei will be deposed. However, it does means that the situation is way more complicated than "Khamemei says so".

We do not live in a Democracy we live in a Republic, therefore when the election was in dispute it went to the courts. We do not believe in rule by the mob but rule by law. (at least this is how i interpret it, therefore if someone has an intelligent counter argument please feel free to refute me)
- billyballer, on 06/17/2009, -0/+12iran.whyweprotest.net = 502 bad gateway ;(
- yonoz, on 06/17/2009, -1/+13I admit it - we made hundreds of thousands of Iranians protest.

Either post proof otherwise its just baseless empty talk. You're on the internet it shouldn't be hard to quickly find what you're asserting. - ThinkExist, on 06/17/2009, -0/+10You're absolutely right, how childish of me to make a mistake.
