Shock Absorbing Gels - Do they work? watch!
5min.com — An ordinary egg dropped down from 18m high to 2 cm thick Beta GEL pad doesnt break! Beta Gel is a soft silicone gel developed by Tokyo-based Geltec Corporation. It is an improvement of Alpha Gel, a shock absorbing Geltec gel that is currently being

- archiegaff, on 12/23/2007, -4/+20This is almost shocking how easily 5MIN.COM is spamming Digg with their fake IDs. Does Digg not have any SPAM control at all?
- Scaster513, on 12/23/2007, -2/+7Yeah, they're called users. When people stop digging spam it won't be on the front page anymore. I don't see how this is spam though.
- nixfu, on 12/23/2007, -0/+1They probably do like everyone else these days and BUY THEIR DIGG's on the open market for $ per digg.

Buying a 100-200 diggs to get a story automatically on the front page, is pretty cheap compared to the potential payoff from the increased web traffic. - mhuggins, on 12/23/2007, -0/+1Wow, I wasn't paying attention and didn't realize it was 5min till this comment. How is a 47 second clip on 5min.com? Still an interesting video though.
- credential101, on 12/23/2007, -5/+175min.com Sucks
- VanD, on 12/23/2007, -3/+12Holy crap... thats pretty damn impressive.
But how can Japanese people watch TV with all that ***** all over the screen. Do they not have watches there to tell time, so you really need it plastered across the screen.- ElAssoWipo, on 12/23/2007, -0/+2Ever watch American news?
You got the story they are talking about, another electronic headline under that and another news ticker under the electronic headline, a huge logo, the time, the weather and Nasdaq or Dow indexes.

- ElAssoWipo, on 12/23/2007, -0/+2Ever watch American news?
- streetr8cer13, on 12/23/2007, -1/+6this was on the front page already like a month ago

- EpidemiK, on 12/23/2007, -4/+4No.
- kitaljevich, on 12/23/2007, -1/+2yes, they work!
- Cyberdactyl, on 12/23/2007, -1/+7I'm very reluctant to believe this. It's a simple physics problem. . .Even if the gel COULD 'perfectly' de-accelerate the egg (even distribution of half the egg's surface, it STILL must do it in the distance of the gels thickness. . which appears to be around 2-4 centimeters. . .MUCH too high of a g to sustain the shell's integrity.
- LayLadyLay, on 12/23/2007, -1/+3check the digg history of those "who dugg or blogged it." 5min Spammers
- Richandler, on 12/23/2007, -2/+1This is what makes those gel shoes really bad for your feet. Your brain doesn't measure the real impact of your foot on the ground and that throws off how much stress is placed on your body. You won't feel it initially but if you lose the super cushion shoes for running after a while your knees will end up horrible.

- Chazx, on 12/23/2007, -0/+4I like how impressed they were at what was inside the egg.
- phoque, on 12/23/2007, -0/+1What a crappy nonsense-description.
- JesusPosts, on 12/24/2007, -0/+0I do not digg but I must say on my treks across the desert my sandles used to kill and my feet began to resemble those of the hobbits, but now thanks to these Dr. Shoals I'm gellin' and lovin' it.
