          Google and/or youtube need to write a advance thumbnail choosing algorithm, which picks a thumbnail that is visually similar to the majority of the video, and not a single unique out of context frame.

        Lots of people DO this, but not all of this.

Having hot chicks as your thumbnail and other such tactics will get you a couple hundred thousand views but content is really what separates those types of videos from the multi-million viewer level. Can you name a video with over 5 million views on YouTube that doesn't actually have something funny or interesting behind it? Barring the recent "Music is my hot hot sex" video, of course.
