- freecris, on 01/08/2008, -1/+305I've been lucky.

- Calculon, on 01/08/2008, -5/+124Step 3. Put your junk in the cube

Learn that "alot" is not a word, but two: A LOT - Error601, on 01/08/2008, -2/+59If you've bought one in the last decade, it comes with a solution guide.
- Dokument, on 01/08/2008, -4/+57Step4. Profit!
- FoxFaction, on 01/08/2008, -3/+55Well I guess you need a story to actually care. Here are a few:
every time I show it to a new person, they always say "you can solve that? Wow, i just peeled all the stickers off" and they think they just thought of the most novel joke in the entire world. Then they'd turn and laugh and look at their friends. This exact incident has happened over 20 times to me, completely unprovoked in any way. I don't even know what to make of it other than it's not that funny or original of a joke. :)
Or this one time i got free (virgin, i was under 21) drinks at a bar by betting the waitress i could solve it in under a minute. She agreed and then i just did it slower than normal and made a big deal out of me solving it laboriously. It was pretty fun.
People mark if i've been to their party or not if I've solved all the unsolved cubes they have laying around at parties. I just can't leave one sitting unsolved.
I trained like 5 hours a day for about 6 months to get my average down to 20 seconds. It was super ridiculous and I am ashamed I wasted all that time. However, I now have a cool party trick as a result of my younger self's ridiculousness.
Look. Valuable comments. Wow. :P Fark.com is so much better than digg, but i really want for digg comments not to be dumb. Just stop being dumb. Everyone, simultaneously. From the moment you read this until you die, you'll treat digg forums with respect as you would a social interaction. There's no reason not to.
Paul 08, bill gates is now kinda cooler, WoW, digg girlfriends, etc - Bukowsky, on 01/08/2008, -9/+56Step 1. Have ALOT of Patience!
- FoxFaction, on 01/08/2008, -2/+49I was ranked 21st in the world at cube speedsolving about 2.5 years ago, with a mean solve time of around 21 seconds. I know you all care deeply, and are greatly excited by my news from the forefront of cubing, and that feeling of connectedness that stems from that. Aren't digg comments fun? ;)
- hardcore718, on 01/08/2008, -2/+38Great, yet another method of fending off hot chicks so i can play d&d in peace
- Lane, on 01/08/2008, -5/+40Pfft Rubic's cubes are so 80's I only play with my Dyson sphere
- feliphe, on 01/08/2008, -1/+29STEP 0 : after open the package, leave it ALONE!
- otatop, on 01/08/2008, -0/+28Rubik's, not Rubix.
- stklaw, on 01/08/2008, -4/+29Step 3. ???
- ULJarad, on 01/08/2008, -0/+24I can unsolve a Rubix cube in 0.16 seconds.
- webtickle, on 01/08/2008, -3/+18any solutions guide provided on paper would require you to learn an arcane paper based notation and would not be animated
- xdvx, on 01/08/2008, -0/+15I use hammer for solving this cursed rubik cube
- neko, on 01/08/2008, -1/+12Turn the middle side topwise.
Topwise. - inactive, on 01/08/2008, -0/+11Does that include the one I bought about 3 years ago that did not come with a solution guide?
- YuriSakazaki, on 01/08/2008, -2/+13Well if you have a ton of bonus arcane damage gear you'll be fine, but really what mage specs Arcane?
- LongShlong, on 01/08/2008, -2/+123. Make her open that box.
- Zaggynl, on 01/08/2008, -1/+11http://www.scalzi.com/whatever/futility0519a.jpg
- eatkitten, on 01/08/2008, -3/+12"Or this one time i got free (virgin, i was under 21) drinks at a bar"

- speedyrev, on 01/08/2008, -1/+10Insert screwdriver in crack between blocks
Pry apart
Reassemble in correct order
Solved. - adustum, on 01/08/2008, -0/+8Like post on an internet forum?
- inactive, on 01/08/2008, -1/+9Step 1a(i)x
i just wanted to make a step pointless - DeviantDragon, on 01/08/2008, -0/+8It comes with pictures. It's not that hard to follow. It's written for laypeople. It's no Friedrich method, just a layer method.
- nick111, on 01/08/2008, -0/+8The best way of solving a rubix cube is not to mess it up in the first place. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
- afdlips, on 01/08/2008, -3/+10I can hardly hold a rubiks cube for 5 mins without wanting to shoot myself... how the ***** am i going to read a huge ass web page that goes so in depth about one of these death cubes?
better yet... how the ***** did someone have that much time to write that whole thing.
dugg for that poor guy who took the time to write it. - j1ggy, on 01/08/2008, -4/+11I was traumatized at about 5 years old by one of those things... couldn't get my head around it and I've never tried since.
- giid, on 01/08/2008, -0/+7The problem with digg is that just because you actually posted a good comment, you don't get rewarded for it. Sure you get diggs to your comment, but that doesn't actually get you anything. With slashdot, you post a good comment, you get better screen real estate for your comment, and eventually you'll start posting at +1 which means more people will see your comment by default.
Digg badly needs a sort article comments by most diggs, preserving threads option. This wouldn't solve everything, but it would be a big start.
And fix the stupid bug that doubles up spaces when initially submitting a comment. - timbo458, on 01/08/2008, -1/+8Got mine in '83, a few more moves and I'll have it! (I make a move every 6 months.)
- elitistmusician, on 01/08/2008, -0/+6SPOILARZ!!!
- Mizzike, on 01/08/2008, -0/+6It improves your intelligence.
- mahoneyt, on 01/08/2008, -1/+6Pealing off the stickers would not be a very good idea unless they are moved with other corresponding stickers as well. This page: http://lar5.com/cube/begin.html was of help to me when I first learned how to do the Rubik's cube. It takes some practice but it's pretty easy once you understand the concept and the moves.
- daakone, on 01/08/2008, -1/+6There's not much difficult or arcane about F = Front, B = Back, U = Up, D = Down, R = Right, L = Left.
In other news I just solved my cube, wondered what was on digg, thought there have probably been lots of cube solving guides posted here, then saw the first story on the front page was a cube guide... - kjk437, on 01/08/2008, -5/+10Great, now I'm going to have to go pull my old cube out again...
***** insomnia... - xdvx, on 01/08/2008, -1/+6Why you on digg???
Burried as lame comment! - funkytaco, on 01/08/2008, -2/+7Teh grammer nazzi"s r n ful fors.
- layeroffrost, on 01/08/2008, -1/+5eh...the solution is available on the rubik's website, as well as coming with the cube itself. have solved the 3x3x3 cube, after much frustration and many restarts (kept forgetting how many moves i had done in the sequence). have a 4x4x4 cube that i've not attempted to solve yet. pulling off the stickers is cheating! :P
- munky100, on 01/08/2008, -1/+5What was wrong with the other 12 digg articles?
- jayzer, on 01/08/2008, -0/+4Find a friend who can do it and have him/her teach you.
It's not so bad. Spend some time figuring out how things work, memorize a few algorithms, practice, and you're set. - Treshnell, on 01/08/2008, -2/+6No, it's just thinking outside the cube.
- Vertex01, on 01/08/2008, -0/+4irony....
- Waffleskates, on 01/08/2008, -0/+4The poster is in 1993?
- troysteinbauer, on 01/08/2008, -2/+6Lar's Method FTW
- Vorin, on 01/08/2008, -1/+4nice job. we all have things we've obsessed over. personally, i'd rather have been obsessed with a rubik's cube than WoW.
- vabs, on 01/08/2008, -1/+4i guess, i need to buy 1 now
- Feep, on 01/08/2008, -0/+3Okay. Now solve a four-dimensional Rubik's Cube, a cube with more possible states than atoms in the known universe. http://www.superliminal.com/cube/applet.html

What is Digg?
