- Fadakar, on 08/25/2008, -2/+39I bet someone has to check every printed piece to make sure it's okay, I never had a messed up piece with the 7 some years I spent with Legos. Awesome video too!
- RMoore08, on 08/25/2008, -2/+35Who else thinks Megablock suck and aren't anywhere close as good as Legos?
- WeaponAlpha, on 08/25/2008, -0/+32I think they should make their assembly line out of Lego pieces. How hard could it be?
- inactive, on 08/25/2008, -0/+23The best part is all the heads in production lined up. It feels kind of creepy, though, like some kind of wacko Lego headhunter cut them all and put them on display.
- doctechnical, on 08/25/2008, -0/+18In all the, gad, tens? of thousands of Lego pieces I've bought, I've only found one with a defect, and it was something I already had 20 or so of anyhow. Still, I gazed at it in wonderment. "Lego made a mistake. I'm marking this day on the calendar."
(It was a 2x2 grey flat with the little axle & wheels, one of the tires was malformed) - OneRottenTomato, on 08/25/2008, -0/+17Would have been cool if the machines that made them were also made of Lego parts.
- cscharabaruk, on 08/25/2008, -0/+13Yeah, Lego has one of the top QA departments in the world.
- yokozuka, on 08/25/2008, -0/+7All I can say is: Happy Birthday Mr. Fig!
- Cwolf267, on 08/25/2008, -1/+8Best Christmas memory I have is building Fort Legorado. Then my Ma
came inside the cabin and told me that Pa had been scalped and hung
by indians... :( - AndrewDB, on 08/25/2008, -3/+9I hate Gizmodo but I love Lego, I don't know if I should ignore this or digg it. :(
My mind is boggled .. :( - doctechnical, on 08/25/2008, -0/+5The video said some of the faces require multiple passes for printing, I wonder how they maintain registration? That is, keep the head from rolling so every pass lines up correctly. They didn't look "nailed down" to me.
- rehrer, on 08/25/2008, -1/+5I wanna jump in a ball pit full of those.
- FUR10N, on 08/25/2008, -0/+4ahhh! it's attack of the clones all over again
- shutaro, on 08/25/2008, -3/+7Legos making Legos? Madness!
- YourPal, on 08/25/2008, -0/+4Those limbs remind me of macaroni.
- finn, on 08/25/2008, -0/+4mmm...let'go my lego
one of these days I plan to make a trip to Lego mecca, but in the meantime i'll settle with my Lego 'Spock' tattoo on my left leg :) - tw0bit, on 08/25/2008, -0/+3I wanna jump in a head pit full of balls.
- purple, on 08/25/2008, -0/+3The heads go into a little vice-grip, and they stay on the vice until they are done being painted. After that it doesn't really matter which side is up.
- PdxPhoenix, on 08/25/2008, -0/+3Three chances next year....
http://www.lego.com/eng/info/default.asp?page=even ... - Whitey07, on 08/26/2008, -0/+2Dugg for Lego.
- super_spyder, on 08/25/2008, -1/+3wow ,you must have a tun of lego(s), or be really lucky. I have a box the size of a child's coffin filled with them and have never seen a single defect in all of my youth. I wonder if they are worth money, in the same way that messed up coins are.
- inactive, on 08/25/2008, -0/+2Indeed.
- PW840, on 08/25/2008, -0/+2So that's how every body's favorite foot soldier is made. Darth Vader must be giddy with joy about the new storm trooper assembly line installed on the death star. GO LEGO! :)
- abrasion, on 08/26/2008, -0/+1You can bury me all you like, it doesn't stop you ***** using 'legos' looking like ...well *****.
- spaceshipsix, on 08/25/2008, -0/+1Molding plastic with plastic molds would get sticky.
But if it actually worked what if the Lego assembly line figured out how to make more Lego assembling robots? - tomazws, on 08/26/2008, -0/+1Yup
- inactive, on 08/25/2008, -4/+5Lots of great memories with Legos
- HeavyWave, on 08/26/2008, -0/+1Digg me down but I love Lego!
- acedolcholine, on 08/26/2008, -0/+1Don't be hatin' on the Beastie Boys!
- woulok, on 08/26/2008, -0/+1Dugg for that awesome song...and because it's LEGO, of course
- roadtripper, on 08/26/2008, -0/+1Legomodo?
(lots and lots of LEGO content on Gizmodo as of late.) - mctom987, on 08/25/2008, -0/+1Metal legos?
- bobrobon, on 08/26/2008, -0/+1Gizmodo sure gets a lot of Lego exclusives.
Nice video though. - arcticblue, on 08/26/2008, -0/+1So did you actually call them Lego Bricks when you were a child? I never knew anyone that called them anything other than Legos.
- evil-doer, on 08/25/2008, -2/+3I hate the word legos more
- cactus476, on 08/26/2008, -0/+1Apparently minifigs have two pairs of arms...
- abrasion, on 08/26/2008, -4/+4Buried for 'legos'
- fortune500b, on 08/26/2008, -0/+0then humanity is doomed.
- Kenzan, on 08/26/2008, -1/+1There's about a zillion copies of this video on other sites throughout the web.
How is this exclusive again? - fortune500b, on 08/26/2008, -0/+0it struck me as odd that they didnt
- arunforce, on 08/25/2008, -2/+2I'm a bit disappointed.
I always figured Legos built Legos. - mctom987, on 08/25/2008, -3/+3Had to go and ruin a decent video with a terrible song. Muted it after I realized that's all the audio was.
Buried. - clawzkatt, on 08/26/2008, -0/+0Is the whole factory made of legos?
I want a Lego factory Lego set. - Akaziel, on 08/25/2008, -3/+2What an amazing video! It took something as cool as Lego and made it boring as *****!
I'm impressed! - Wilddigi, on 08/26/2008, -3/+1Apple needs to hire them
- MrGiblets, on 08/25/2008, -5/+3Am I the only one who hates the word "minifig?" It's up there with the phrase "after the jump."
Legos are awesome, but damn it. - monsieurpwn, on 08/25/2008, -14/+0getting tired of legos making the front page..
