- mutants, on 08/17/2008, -1/+16LightBrite for the Amish. Meh.
- springtastic, on 10/12/2007, -3/+16Much as I like pixel art and its ventures into the physical world, 10x10 is NOT enough space for much of anything. 16x16 or greater would be preferable.
- jasonbhaller, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11When I was young, these were called blocks.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+10Am I the only one who thinks this is incredibly lame?
- jeromehorwitz, on 10/12/2007, -6/+12Clearly spam of the highest order.... and just in time for Xmas!
- Desolite, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6it's too small. if it were the size of a screen where you could do an entire frame, with all the colors that were available... now that would be cool.
just make the cubes smaller and make the frame the size of like a 20" tv screen. - kmfischer, on 10/12/2007, -4/+9Ooo Wood 2.0 ... BURY
- Gutterpunk, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6This is what I came here to say. If you are doing anything related to video game gfx, especially old one (should I say "retro"?), in real life, at least pick size that is a power of 2.
- Punk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5i dugg it cos it gives me wood.
- jambamkin, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6I don't understand whats wrong with this? I quite like the idea
- vermin, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7Not the only one. Marked as LAME.
- idonahue, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6well, i think it's cool...
- bwishey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Yeah... 10x10 is really quite useless and really not a common sprite canvas size. They really should offer more sizes. 16x16. 16x32, etc.
- bwishey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I really wish I knew about this before I did my thesis work earlier this year! Well, not really. Not to self promote but I think I did a better job with my wooden pixel/sprite sculptures:

Still neat though. They should have more colors. - Homunculiheaded, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2the fist thing I did when I got the site was count the pixels, my first impression was like 'hey cool' and then I realized that it wasn't 16x16. It just makes it seem like no real thought was put into this, 10x10 seems like the default size for someone who as never really put any thought into working with pixels. This product seems like it was made by someone with a wood working backgroun who just figured, 'hey maybe I could market this real quick'.
- DelMonte, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"16x16 or greater would be preferable."
I thought the same thing, but then I used some math:
10x10=100 and 16x16=256
That's a lot more blocks to ship... - Thunderrock, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1If you want to do it on your computer, just open Paint and 8x zoom >_>
- zombiemonster, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I actaully know the guy that created this and helped him work with the user testing.
A fair bit of research actually did go into it. If I remember right, the reason it's not 16x16 is that it becomes too big & heavy to post.
The key is in it's simplicity, and just making fun simple graphics. You'll find that with a bit of creativity there's a fair bit you can do with 10x10.
That being said, someone accused this of being spam, and guy who first posted this is in Japan by the looks of things, so it's not him.
Plus, it's not actually for sale yet, just in prototype mode.
Anyway, I'll let him know your comments & feedback and maybe a new revised version will come of it. - blapierre, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1And it's not even 8-bit, hell it's not even 3-bit.
- Homunculiheaded, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1awesome work on those!
- raabco, on 10/12/2007, -5/+5Or, you could get something truly cool/kitschy...
http://www.jlist.com/SEARCH/pixel/1/ - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -6/+6You have to buy it...I thought this was a flash game. Spam.
- ThirdPrize, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Hey, don't knock it. Its wireless with great battery life as well.
- simonjs, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Great! Someone thought of a new way to sell blocks of wood to the rest of the world...
Pixel-art? do we really need a flash website to tell us we can put some blocks together and and make a 3D pixel-art?
at least two things wrong with this:
A - it's not really pixel-art is it...
2 - just get some toy building blocks they usually have different colours on each side and are made out of wood and come in a tray or a push along cart. - MJ420, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1What he said!!!
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -6/+4bahaha
- brstilson, on 10/12/2007, -9/+4WHAT DO YOU MEAN EHW, I DONT LIKE SPAM!!!!!!
