Website Flags
blog.outer-court.com — The web becomes more global every day, and country borders are blurred. What we really need in this day and age, even more than country flags, are flags for websites. Like...

- alek, on 10/12/2007, -3/+14Be sure to check out #10 - "Digg.com’s superior flag harvests the smart mob, with every user independently controlling a small square of the overall design."
- mygaffy, on 10/12/2007, -4/+16am I the only one that is trying to see the 3D picture in the digg flag? It looks like that kind of image...

sigheth much - b7illsmith, on 10/12/2007, -19/+4From the article -
"Digg.com’s superior flag harvests the smart mob..."
Smart mob!?!?! lol roflmao!!!!1111eleventy-one1!1!!!1! Oh please! Give me a break. What a suck-up! - uptown, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6It's a schooner!
- kgool, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6mygaffy, you sir are hallucinating. I am not saying that is a bad thing....
- TheCardinal, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4It's not a schooner! It's a sailboat.
- Rmplstltskn, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4A schooner is a sailboat.
- brownspank, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3"It looks like that kind of image..."
You mean a stereogram? I kinda see it, but can't seem to focus on it clearly... hey, is the joke on me? :)
- forteller, on 10/12/2007, -1/+16I love Yahoo!s flag. Good thing it's not associated with anything in real life....
- britkev1, on 10/12/2007, -2/+23When I first saw this story I thought it was lame but its actually pretty funny.
- vostek, on 10/12/2007, -6/+4cute.
- leodavinci, on 10/12/2007, -9/+4Ah, the Diggaria flag is so hot
- sldSquirrel, on 10/12/2007, -6/+5Heh. Digg's flag is awesome.
- veruus, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5#3 wins!
- mightymouse, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9Why does the digg country sound like a certain bowel movement problem?
- musteval, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7I'm pretty sure you already know the answer to that question.
- ManInPants, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Awesome comedy. :) Especially the late 90s logo design dig at Amazon!
- silvertc, on 10/12/2007, -6/+13hahaha RIAA doesnt allow republications :)
- nonhuman, on 10/12/2007, -9/+2At first I thought it said 'Republicans'. Couldn't figure out why the RIAA would shirk the party they own...
- D14BL0, on 10/12/2007, -4/+7Heh. Funny stuff. I really like the RIAA flag. Somebody should make more of these.
- jawagas, on 10/12/2007, -6/+1Digg down the RIAA comments, man didn't take Digga's as Law Abiding citizens.
- Anubis2051, on 10/12/2007, -8/+2Nice, adobe's is the best, then digg.
- kalphegor, on 10/12/2007, -19/+5Ok, this is lame.
- flatline01, on 10/12/2007, -13/+4There's nothing I like better than a copious helping of globalist propaganda.
Horrah! Screw nationalism, we have the INTERNET.
- quinnk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Thank you for missing the point. Try again next week.
- turricanz, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8lol. I had to laugh about yahoos flag. (we're not in bed with china! we just make money there!) good for a laugh.
- rodtrent, on 10/12/2007, -19/+1If all of the web sites are going global -- why do we need the use of flags again? Globalization means that everyone, everywhere should be able to access, read, and participate in the site's community, removing any language barriers. A flag graphic is not going to do that.
- jgclark123, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13Way to RTFA, jackass.
- rockintom99, on 10/12/2007, -5/+3Heh, that was pretty funny. I like the RIAA bit, along with the w3c and digg one :)
- pedmond, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7No Linux or Microsoft flag?
- leboff, on 10/12/2007, -2/+21the load time on the ms flag was too high to post on the website
- omenmedia, on 10/12/2007, -3/+36You need to install GFA, Genuine Flag Advantage, to see Microsoft's one.
- Snakedal337, on 10/12/2007, -1/+25Please install

- masamunecyrus, on 10/12/2007, -5/+4Or perhaps....
- Bioshocker, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5I've actually found that the web has gotten less global recently. Video sites that can only be accessed from within certain countries, news sites that show you different pages depending on where you are visiting from, etc.
- nonhuman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2It's like everything else. Once it becomes _really_ popular, the governments start taking control and ruining the things that make it so great.
- quinnk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3See also: net neutrality.
- omenmedia, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Hahaha, the W3C one I could actually imagine becoming real.
- derailed, on 10/12/2007, -10/+0I found this funny... so funny that I had to log in and digg it. I'm also making this post for no particular reason to share that I thought it was funny. Does anyone get anything out of my post? I doubt it. Why am I posting? I don't know. I just had to tell someone.
- 500freestyle, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2The RIAA made me laugh. And Yahoo.
- jawagas, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Man I love the internet. btw Microsoft calls dibs on the Pirate Flag, with a window watermark.
- avocadobeandip, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Wasn't the Pirate Flag originally used by the Apple guys back in the '80s? Just another case of Microsoft borrowing from them I guess.
- scottious, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0HAHA hilarious. Maybe the digg methodology doesn't quite work for everything ;)
- kellagh, on 10/12/2007, -9/+3Is this seriously on the front page?
- Scriptic, on 10/12/2007, -8/+3my exact thoughts.
- BillyEveryteen, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5At least it's better than that blog entry about Digg's commenting system.
- pile0nades, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9Diggaria? Diggnation sounds way better.
- CaptShmo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0verry funny
- PaiTrakt, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Haha, brilliant :)
- BornToFrag, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2hahaha I love RIAA flag
- shockme17, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1yahoo's flag should be purple with yellow lettering..
this is being buried, it's retarded - ChiKoo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2i love the riaa flag a lot
