- baillie, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6Nothing you can't do in Photoshop etc, although for those without PS I can see why it would be useful.
Just wish folk would stop sticking Web 2.0 on everything. - brotherjohn1234, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Now you can use the windings font for your entire logo.
- web20bloggr, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Yes, azuriel, I agree. I'm the developer of this Web2.0Stylr. Honestly it was meant to be a joke and was put up over the weekend. So, it's purpose was to make fun of the whole Web 2.0 over-done-reflection-logos and to be passed around to my friends. Then, it was passed around the internet. Then, blogged about like crazy in China,...weird. Now...it's on Digg and I'm a bit embarrassed because yes, the design sucks and it's usefulness is a bit limited, lol. I was recently thinking of upgrading it from a 2.0-cliche to an actual useful tool. We'll see. Until then, I hope everyone enjoys my cheesy lil Web 2.0 website.
TheStylr - pennystocks, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Runtime error?! Wow, I hope they give you a full refund.
- dual, on 02/19/2008, -0/+1Don't you all see it's satirical? lol
- Emexci, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1this is better

- g0tmk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Get a runtime error if you use Vivaldi font... nice
- azuriel, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Developer really should limit the font choices, this list is more generic than what are generally considered "web 2.0 fonts." Trebuchet and Helvetica are good choices. Kinda cool utility anyway, even though I don't like web 2.0 design much.
- web20bloggr, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Excellent post! I like all of your recommendations and will take all of them into consideration. I went through yesterday and disabled all of the fonts that did not work at all. I am working right now on allowing people to login and save the logos to a gallery.
Also, I will try and expand the gradient color palette tool. As far as different gradient effects, what were you thinking?
I also thought it was interesting what you said about keeping the site with a home-made-feel.

TheStylr - avivamagnolia, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I think that this lovely little playground is alotta (!) fun...and personally, I'm glad and grateful for its existence cuz it's so easy to try things on for size, and there's little or no investment of time, heart, soul, or honey. It's a very "low-risk" sandbox, too. Since there's little opportunity to actually create a super-high-quality logo, there's no need to feel bad when your efforts look...well...yukky!
So...that said, I'd love to see some enhancements...perhaps a "font preview" photosnap or graphic (to avoid requiring folks to download all those fonts)...and maybe a repair job done on the fonts that act funny (won't let you do a "save as" of your own, hot-of-the-screen, razzledazzle logo). Howza bouta gallery, where folks can stash their "winners" into a lightbox sort of affair, or "hang" their pretties on a gallery wall? At the very least, this tool is great for generating ideas that can be retooled later with more substantive graphic software.
Also, the colors are so very, very limited. I would really really really love some more subtle gradations of color. Oh, and how about a few more text-gradient effects? But (and)...Please!...Don't turn this tantalizing toy into some kind of formal, professional, pragmatic (and prissy) piece of webware. I truly believe too much "high spiffiness" would ruin the spontaneity and impulsivity of the whole affair, and give would give people stagefright.
Thanks again, and yes! It was a smart move putting the Digg button on your site. - imitrust, on 10/12/2007, -7/+7What the world needs? More lame logos. Thanks internet
