- digg it
- teckjunkie, on 10/12/2007, -43/+7Much more interesting if they were heineken or another green canned beer... like green faxe. For diggs: liquor > cola
- Gatesophile, on 10/12/2007, -1/+35but mountain dew is the classic nerd drink!
- ZippidyDoo, on 10/12/2007, -12/+2I'm proud to know of one of these made from natural light cans.
- InvertedDonkey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+19It actually looks really pretty.
- wingnut21, on 10/12/2007, -5/+21Techjunkie: Are you some 19-year-old obsessed with the mystique of alcohol? Your non-legal friends might be impressed by that comment, but we're not.
(However, you could have redeemed yourself by saying Heineken bottles would be better because of their refractive qualities, but no, you said cans.) - KC0MLP, on 10/12/2007, -13/+3@ Gatesophile
BAWLS has to be the classic nerd drink - BlackCow, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2@KC0MLP
Nope, mountain dew was first. I like Bawls better but water ftw. - MrsRodted, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Only if your not legal, grow up...
- whalesalad, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5***** liquor. I ***** love mountain dew.
- TimDigg, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1@KC0MLP
Bawls is like the new Mountain dew as evidenced by the sale of it at places like thinkgeek and compusa
Mt. Dew is the original....to give you an idea of how nerdy Mt Dew is......
there was a Darth Dew - davidmba, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0original http://mdewtree.com
- foobar5892, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1Apparently Mountain Dew makes your scrotum shrink. Not that any nerds should be worried.
- wwwdot1jesdotus, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2@ wingnut21 - You said
"Techjunkie: Are you some 19-year-old obsessed with the mystique of alcohol? Your non-legal friends might be impressed by that comment, but we're not."
Are you some 21 year old, barely legal kid (yes, kid) obsessed with the fact that you are now able to legally drink (barely) and the kid 2 years younger can't? Your barely legal friends may be impressed by that comment, but I'm not. Just because you are old enough to drink does not make you better than someone who isn't.
- xtmno3, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10Cool! I kind of worry about the lightbulb in the 2ltr bottle though. Something that big in a plastic container just screams fire to me.
- tbeseda, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3at least Dew cans dont burn :-)
- Chingmiester, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I'm more worried about the 66000 calories and 4400 grams of sugar taken in from all those cans of mountain dew
- MrsRodted, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1@ Chingmiester,
Dew is the ultimate classic nerd drink ( 2 24 pks a night playing Warcraft II when it was new) so this is awesome, as for all those calories? Dew drinking nerd is not equal to thin healh nut. - HanSolo69, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1now if they could get a real christmas tree to survive off of mountain dew...
- wwwdot1jesdotus, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1didn't Mythbusters try that? Seriously. I think they did.
- JHawk24821, on 10/12/2007, -7/+4I wonder if anyone plans to get this person some books on weight loss as gifts?
- hernam19, on 10/12/2007, -7/+1so... can we get this guy a hobby for christmas?
jk.
looks nice and would have been more interesting, like teckjunkie said, if with heineken - mastercheif, on 10/12/2007, -4/+8Wow, looks like my desk after a good WOW session.
- francois87, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8digged for effort
- Rainbow101, on 10/12/2007, -8/+2Looks cool because the cans are green, with red lights. Mountain Dew is disgusting.
- deviouskoopa, on 10/12/2007, -17/+1nice idea...
im also liking the pron music :D- EricCiccone, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13pron?
Are you kidding me, go listen to Jazz and enlighten yourself to what a real genre of music sounds like. - Gatesophile, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12yeah, because jazz redintions of christmas songs == pr0n music
edit: damn, ericciccone beat me to it.
- EricCiccone, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13pron?
- megaloid, on 10/12/2007, -10/+3Whatever. Anybody can scrounge up 400 Mountain Dew cans. Now if that tree was made of absinthe bottles...
- nothing7899, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I don't know why you are being dugg down because that stuff is expensive! Lots of $$$ required to make a tree out of those bottles.
And... it would be quite a feat to consume that much of the green fairy!
- nothing7899, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I don't know why you are being dugg down because that stuff is expensive! Lots of $$$ required to make a tree out of those bottles.
- Chingmiester, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9400 Cans of Mountain Dew ~~ $100
6' PVC Pipe ~~ $5-10
Construction Flags ~~ Free
Lights & Ornaments ~~ $15 tops
Mountain Dew Christmas Tree that can easily pass for a real one even three feet away ~~ Priceless- wingnut21, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3If you're drinking the dew anyway, it's cheaper than a real tree, and better for the environment!
- bbjr, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0That's friggin' awesome! My LAN party group could do that 3 times over, easily! haha
- justintsmith, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Now they just need kiefer sutherland to show us how to do the dew, by tackling it
- striker1211, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2If one of the cans somehow dripped or cut into the wires... ownage...
- flamingmb, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1All this needs to be complete is some insulin shots under the tree. God I love Mountain Dew.
- ryanschmidt, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1and pepsi co buys this tree for their Christmas banquet
- Toon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5It's a glorious holiday tribute to urinary tract infections.
- ChewyBass, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5After seeing all the dew cans I image they put the tree up in less than one minute.
- sirgolf82, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0"There's not very many branches on this tree...mostly Dew."
Awesome. - apotropaic, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1What the heck are construction flags? Anybody?
- ifire, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Like, those little orange flags with the wire sticks.
- sirgolf82, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Sounds to me like those plastic-topped flags that workers stick into the ground to identify buried pipes.
- ifire, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2He should use Code Red cans for the red ornaments... haha.
- ShortRoundTwo, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2It's going to be a white(trash) christmas after all!
- flamingmb, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5no that would be a tree made out of pabst.
- MonumentMan, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1EXTREME!!!!! :O
- 4UIDigg, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Hell yeah, especially if they drank all that Mountain Dew
- whalesalad, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I know this is a really dumb question, seeing as this is quite a popular song, but what is the song in the video called? It's pretty cool.
- Dilz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0You're gonna kick yourself...
"O Christmas Tree"
Or, alternatively...
"O Tannenbaum" (the original) - Chingmiester, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Jazz rendition of Oh Christmas Tree, can't tell who the Sax player is.
- Dilz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0You're gonna kick yourself...
- tbryant87, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I want one for my dorm room.
- truegodofwar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2High Fructose Corn Syrup is a poison.
- Salmonized, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Bless his **heart**
- davidmba, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1website + pictures http://mdewtree.com
- Tedge, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I think you could probably probably pile up most anything in a conical shape and put lights and ornaments on it, and it would look kinda cool. Mt. Dew cans, of course have the added advantage of being green. This is a funny, clever and disarmingly attractive project. (Well, except maybe for the "star"). It makes me wonder if in a few years when my families fake Christmas tree needs to be retired if maybe we shouldn't be more creative in using things we already have around the house.
- pizzaface200, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1To whoever made this YOU ARE A GOD!!! lol I honestly drink 1 2 Liter of the stuff a day no joke.
- DenDen, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Should get his own Dew commercial! Do the Dew!
- soldierboyadam, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I bet he is getting gift certificates for a free filling or two from the local dentist for Christmas after drinking all that. Tons of props though. Looks pretty sweet.
