- 876 diggs
- digg it
- Gazpacho, on 10/11/2007, -2/+16Most of them are simply ergonomic keyboards. The DataHand is alluring, though.
- br0ther, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1with a real type writer grip of your normal keyboard the data hand isn't that unusual.
- wolfkabal, on 10/11/2007, -18/+3and yet another post about "Top keyboards", "Weird keyboards", "Cool keyboards"...
- corporalclegg24, on 10/11/2007, -6/+2I liked the yellow and purple one!
- Woah_G!, on 10/11/2007, -2/+1You voice your opinion! We digg you down!
- allywilson, on 10/11/2007, -5/+3You ever tried to use dvorak? ***** weird. To be able to get used to it you need to rearrange your actual keys though - which is a bit of a pain really.
- daven1986, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5dvorak is quite easy to use once you get used to it. i bought some key stickers instead of rearranging the keys.
- njschwinn, on 10/11/2007, -2/+4Yeah, I switched to Dvorak last year, and wow its alot easier to type in than QWERTY. My speeds have gone up dramatically and i don't need to "peck type" anymore. The best part is though, that it keeps my parents and friends off of my computer when I'm not around =D.
- resplence, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1That right there is the best incentive I've ever heard to switch to Dvorak.
- Terr01, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3In normal-land we use this thing called a "password". :P
I bet it was your transition, not Dvorak itself, which helped you avoid pecking. Had you put the same amount of effort and forced focus into learning Qwerty, you'd type just as well.

- MrTankJump, on 10/11/2007, -2/+10Yes I have, I actually made a Dvorak keyboard, and it's much more comfortable than QWERTY, seeing how it's designed around being the arrangement that is the fasted for typing in English, and also helps prevent Carpal-tunnel. You have to remember that QWERTY was designed SPECIFICALLY to slow typing down so that it doesn't jam mechanical keyboards, and yet the schools are still teaching children QWERTY.
- vdxc, on 09/29/2008, -0/+5That's because QWERTY is the defacto. It's been used for years and nobody wants to start the major push to a new standard.
- codergnome, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1That "***** weird" feeling is your hands thanking you for not using QWERTY.
For the record, I never switched key caps when I switched to Dvorak. In fact, 4+ years later, my keyboard is still arranged QWERTY (they don't fit any other way). Doesn't bother me one bit.

- harrisonx, on 10/11/2007, -11/+145 diggs and it's dead already. anyone get a mirror?
- vdxc, on 09/29/2008, -4/+945 diggs != 45 hits. I read a hell of a lot of stories, but I only Digg a few.

- ohmar, on 10/11/2007, -3/+2that is the funniest thing ive read all morning
- KevinO, on 10/11/2007, -3/+6But see, the sight was down so this article should get no more than 47 or 50 diggs, but watch as it gets near a hundred...Lesson, people don't read the article or even look at the pictures before digging..
- crazedgremlin, on 10/11/2007, -2/+4it's "site," not "sight."
- KevinO, on 10/11/2007, -7/+2Yeah, I know that, way to catch a typo and be a bitch about tit.

- Konstantino, on 10/11/2007, -9/+4Why is this guy getting dugg down? The site is down, and the mirror works.
- ilovebacon, on 10/11/2007, -2/+13If by "work" you mean "not work," then yeah, it works great.
- n0ydz, on 10/11/2007, -5/+5.

- Ellord, on 10/11/2007, -1/+8Seems like they have an unusual server too.
- bigwyrm, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Nah. Servers like that are common.
- m4rk0551, on 10/11/2007, -5/+0Burried.
- crash128, on 10/11/2007, -3/+0"When traveling in the dark, it is good to carry a suitcase. - Benton

- crash128, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0Whatever it was that I was trying to do (I would like to reference the t-heads "stop making sense". (harmless nonsense)) - you did much better. You made me laugh.
Let's go outside and set off some fireworks.

- Devrdander, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2ahahaha priceless
- greatkingrat85, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2It looks like a spoof of this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oYj6TceYio0
- fullstop102, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2Yeah it is a spoof of the Hoff incident. Very good!
- dasilva333, on 10/11/2007, -1/+9what's up with master chief being an alcoholic in that youtube video at the end?
- Thomasson, on 10/11/2007, -6/+1Buried. Sometimes getting dugg can be a site's downfall.
- SwampyUK, on 10/11/2007, -2/+0Another Wordpress site bites the dust. Suggest the owner visits http://blog.tarotoast.com/2006/03/19/233/ while his server recovers
- orangery, on 10/11/2007, -4/+28wow a non-iphone story.
- vystral, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1hahaha ya finally
- DarKnight90, on 10/11/2007, -4/+1Whats so great about them? Loads of people got them at work (the data hand was it's kinda cool)/
Burried for being lame. - dpvu, on 10/11/2007, -3/+0What's with all those keyboards (if you can call some of them that) splitting the keyboard in half? I personally can't stand that (I've used that ugly Microsoft keyboard that does that before). Is it that much more ergonomic to have a couple more inches between your hands?
- chedabob, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Yes
- grubwort, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1I f in d i t q ui te a nnoyin g, p ers on a lly.
- chedabob, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Yes
- bat-21, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4My favorite would have to be the IBM butterfly ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IBM_ThinkPad_Butterfly_keyboard ). Damn shame it was only used once.
- mustacheo, on 10/11/2007, -8/+27¿spɹɐoqʎǝʞ uʍop ǝpısdn ǝɥʇ ǝɹɐ ǝɹǝɥʍ
- ienjoythebeach, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5All those but no Optimus Maximus?
- phoomp, on 10/11/2007, -0/+11This list is incomplete. Here's a better one:
http://web.archive.org/web/20070228010110/http://tim.griffins.ca/gallery/keyboard/all.html - tomee, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3this guy has a whole domain just for his keyboard:
http://mykeyboard.co.uk/- psykiv, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Actually, looking at the keyboard, the layout actually makes sense. Seriously, type some words in your head looking at that keyboard.

- Monstradamus, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Check out this russian-made one :-P forums.kustompcs.co.uk/showthread.php?t=34594 (old news but still cool)
- slapthemonkey, on 10/11/2007, -2/+1Didn't like much.
- opusaz, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1I have a hard time with anything except the Microsoft NaturalTouch. Been using them for years. If you want to buy unusual ergonomic keyboards try here: http://store.ergocube.com/pckeyboards.html They're non-profit and donate proceeds to charity. They deal entirely with ergonomic solutions.
As for mice, I'm a huge fan of the vertical mouse http://store.ergocube.com/evsu.html. They used to be found in CompUSAs but now just online.
I'm sincerely not promoting this site and I'm not associated with them. My apologies if this post is inappropriate. - nubnub, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1HaHa I have that Microsoft keyboard. Almost grabbed it after I got my current keyboard wet. I used to use it all the time, but it would feel totally weird now.
- Philluminati, on 10/11/2007, -4/+2Best.Keyboard.Ever: http://www.artlebedev.com/everything/optimus/demo/
each key has it's own tiny display and it's context sensative. When your playing quake the actions are little icons on the keys themselves, likewise for photoshop and others etc etc.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Optimus_keyboard- manitoba98xp, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4Do you really think there is any Digg users left who have not heard of the Optimus keyboard? Many of us are sick and tired of hearing about it at this point...
- OpCzar, on 10/11/2007, -2/+1Yes, people discover digg everyday.
- manitoba98xp, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4Do you really think there is any Digg users left who have not heard of the Optimus keyboard? Many of us are sick and tired of hearing about it at this point...
- providence066, on 10/11/2007, -1/+0Oh come on... they're just pulling this out of their ass.
http://www.thatforumplace.com/temp/kb17.jpg - JonTheGoose, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Those Data Hand things look pretty neat. Wonder if you can game with those....
- f4nt0m4s, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1i can't use the microsoft natural keyboard because the b is on the right set of keys and i'm a weirdo that pushes the b key with my left hand...oh well
- jonasschneider, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1I always think the boards are broken when i see one of them^^
btw: dvorak is really better (=faster) then qwerty, cuz qwerty was designed to slow typing down cuz of mechanical keyboard jamming.... - TeleKawaru, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0I've been using a Kinesis keyboard for years now. Have one at work as well.
- waratah, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1There was a keyboard that looked like a cylinder as well. I actually owned a Cherry, not a bad keyboard.
- denacem, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1some of them look scary
- buglord, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Sadly incomplete without the Fingerworks Keyboards. (http://www.fingerworks.com/) Sadly defunct, this company was supposedly bought up by Apple, which then used the technology to develop multitouch.
- WriterofDreams, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0honestly..imagine going to work every day and having to get used to each one. those keyboards are definitely weird, and definitely not going anywhere in the future...I'm sticking with my current one, thanks! :)
- Karate007, on 10/09/2008, -0/+0he he this is better http://digg.com/design/Any_languages_keyboard
