- haackers, on 10/10/2007, -3/+79how can you have an ultimate web development cheat sheets document with out having any server side cheat sheets (php, asp.net, ruby, etc..)??
- heartcoldfusion, on 10/10/2007, -5/+49Pretty cool, but seriously, is it that hard to learn the difference between your and you're?
- seandfeeney, on 10/10/2007, -3/+35Or you could just go to w3schools.com...
- thepolkapunk, on 10/10/2007, -4/+25So YOU'RE sitting there! YOU'RE stuck on something! Not your! You also switch tenses mid-sentence and use commas instead of periods. YOU FAIL!
- NickMcRump, on 10/10/2007, -1/+17your != you are
- modeless, on 10/10/2007, -1/+12http://gotapi.com is better. It's got all the server side stuff in addition to HTML/CSS/Javascript. Why would you want a PDF cheat sheet when you could have instant-search-as-you-type?
- bkemper, on 10/10/2007, -3/+11No kidding. Someone needs a cheat sheet for basic English grammar.
Now where did I put my "stuck on something"? Oh yes, here it is next to my "sitting there". - MikeSD34, on 10/10/2007, -2/+8Me fail english? Thats unpossible!
- eunosx, on 10/10/2007, -1/+7http://www.ilovejackdaniels.com/cheat-sheets/css-cheat-sheet/
Glad to see that other developers have an affinity for Jack too - wrillo, on 10/10/2007, -2/+8up up up, yes you need to grow UP
- Jescro, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5It's weird that he got it wrong, but that's the beginning paragraph on the actual story page, which did get it right. Don't you think he could have just copy/pasted the actual text with proper grammar? heh
- SPECOPS, on 10/10/2007, -2/+6The PDF helps when you're offline and working
- boxmonkey, on 10/10/2007, -2/+6Incorrect usage of "your" hurts my brain. People are not complaining about obscure grammatical constructs. This is extremely basic stuff, and the laziness displayed by people who can't bother to learn how to use "your" and "you're" correctly is a disgrace.
- bromac, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4or capitalize
- ripstuntz, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4Thanks! I printed out the CSS sheet and have it on the wall next to me in my office now.
God I love being a nerd. =D - TPHigginbotham, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Actually, the author corrected his mistake afterwards (see the fourth post above yours).
- schallstrom, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3You mean being offline like having no connection to teh internets? Hope that will never happen to me.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -2/+5.
- bromac, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4But the amount of effort you spend on something like this isn't lazy, but it's compulsive.
Ultimately if it hurts you're brain, that's you're problem. And I missed your their porpoisefully.
News flash: you don't get a gold star if you spell everything 100% on the internet. But you do avoid the wrath of comulsive people like you who can't put things like this into perspective.
Grammar and spelling are aids in communication. He communicated his ideas effectively, and the only issues people are having are with technical details that don't really affect comprehension.
In other words, people are being petty and NOT EVEN DISCUSSING THE ARTICLE AT HAND. Instead they're discussing how it was writen.
Again, this is Digg, a technical site. If I wanted grammar lessons I would have signed up for the English major. Which is as much use in the Real World as is correcting people's grammar on the internet! - rss2pdf, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3What sucks about some of these cheat sheets is they're text documents saved as images (PNG files).
Text should be, duh, .TXT or .HTM... - mossblaser, on 10/10/2007, -2/+4Digg is full of two types of people - those who understand and value the article and those who have never written a line of CSS etc, in their lives and are ***** around being grammar Nazis. Seriously - either rewrite the article and submit to the author or just shut the hell up. If you found the article worth while you wouldn't be ***** around complaining about the grammar! I don't see many nerds going around taking the piss out of your sub standard coding skills so you should stfu about their grammar!
- Ellsass, on 11/05/2008, -0/+2I've printed some and tacked them to the wall around my desk. When I'm coding I can just look up at them instead of switching to Firefox, new tab, type in the search query, find the right site, etc.
- miguelcanada, on 10/10/2007, -5/+7Thanks :) I'm working on my grammar :) I have made the corrections! Digg users rock!
- DarkPrince11, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Nice to see other people have a taste for Jack Daniels too. :D
My favorite would be the RegEx cheat sheet :: Always a great help - IllBeBack, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Because people that can't write coherently are viewed as ignorant morons and deserve to be slammed down repeatedly until they either change their ways or simply go away.
- SVPirate, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2PHP isn't *****... ASP.NET is but that doesn't redeem you in the slightest, as I consider telling people ASP.NET is ***** to be pointing out the blatantly obvious.
I will readily acknowledge the benefits of Perl, but frankly it's a bitch to code in. - bromac, on 10/10/2007, -3/+5Is it that difficult to ignore something so trivial? Seriously, the comments section should NOT be my English teacher's red pen. This is Digg, a technology site, not Creative Writing 101. 100% accuracy is not required, only that it's legible. And you're STILL the second most Dugg comment? People here don't read articles anymore, they rip them apart in an attempt to make themselves look smarter than the author.
Try posting something relevant next time. The author writes complex code under strict syntax most likely every day. We can forgive a single grammar error in passing. - TheInfamousOne, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2!= You fail at computers.
- antifreze, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Look at http://www.cheat-sheets.org/ for all your cheat sheets on php, asp.net, etc.
Basically anything you would ever need. - tdous, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2*nix cons don't count as outside. Back to your seat!
- jamangold, on 10/10/2007, -2/+3You really should talk to your doctor and get your anti-anxiety medications changed, or at least increase the dosage. Something's not working out right for you.
- brianary, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1No, clearly digg is still in third grade.
BTW: the "idea", based on other comments, is an (incomplete) paste of a better list of links. - demonstar55, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, b, a, start *
- bromac, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2YOU'RE RETARDED FOR NOT USING THE WORD "KNOWING" OR LOWER CASE LETTERS. BUT HERE'S ONE FOR YOU.
f. For FAIL. - brianary, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Maybe you love to sound like a retard, but not all of us think it's kewl to look like we just SMS our messages with boxing gloves on.
Why do you grammar pussies get so worked up defending this *****. There *are* several comments about the article content, but you went over here and decided "Hey! Those guys are trying to keep English from degenerating into Bush-shortbus-NewSpeak. I better protect the poor, defenseless author of the text, whom I assume is a 15-year-old girl, from their savage corrections! ENGRISH FOREVAH! LEEEEEROY JENKINS!"

- brianary, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Oh, and http://localhost80.com/
- brianary, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Petty and vain? Are you kidding me? Just because I think maybe we should start typing like we know our own language? Jebus, I guess I just set the bar too high.
Carry on, then, chimps. - brianary, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1bromac, you are spending as much time compulsively defending ***** English. I've ignored this crap long enough--everything online sounds like it was written in crayon. If you can't write clearly, you can't think clearly (much less communicate effectively).
Sew tech people shouldn't half too no how too right at all? Coz "your" is purdy goddam basic. You either talk about stuff right, or you don't. It isn't something you turn on and off, depending on the ***** topic of the sight. - brianary, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Yeah! Digg should sound like a retard, so people have a very clear picture of it's users!
- bromac, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1People who get their panties in a bunch over someone else's grammar are pussies.
- revsd5, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Awesome
- bromac, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Why would you print it out when you could have an electronic version on the workstation you're using? That way you can copy/paste code snippets between the two. Paperless is the way to go.
Your nerd-fu is weak. - bromac, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Wow. This thread really is entirely about grammar.
Something tells me I'll be quitting Digg soon. There used to be conversation about the topic at hand. Now we just see fit to pass judgement on submitters, their titles and descriptions.
In other words, Digg is as petty and vain as mainstream society. It's lost its shine. - bilangew, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Well.... thats the difference between "switching applications (or worse, having to look for your electronic version in your hard drive), then switch back to your editor and figure out where you were editing", and "having a quick peek to a piece of paper on the wall next to your screen, then going on with your coding".
IMO, copy-pasting slows down learning, plus theres always issues with not well formatted text coming from your pdf.
"Paper is the way to go." ;) - SpyDerMann, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1For CSS/DOM it's much better having the original W3C specs at hand. CTRL-F does the trick.
- dylanparry, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1But it's only IE less than 6 that gets it wrong; ie. browsers that are so obsolete that they aren't worth worrying about and certainly aren't worth the hassle.
- OliviaHoman, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2Great list! Excellent article.
Thanks for sharing! - Optimaximal, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1ASP isn't ***** if you want to do anything involving ActiveX, for obvious reasons.
- mblitch, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1A cheat cheat on proper grammar should be in order here. It isn't as minor an issue as some people claim simply due to the proliferation of the error. It is made so often and corrected just as often that one should take the clue and teach themselves the difference between uses. It isn't a simple typing error, it is a fundamental error in communication and the English language.
