- popstalin, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10Smashing Magazine is becoming a must read blog!
- dswinscoe, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Some people would complain if you gave them a million dollars in cash - "Yuck it's green!" Spam is in the eye of the beholder, and you spam police provide zero value to the digg. If you don't like the article, simply DON'T DIGG IT!
Fantastic post! One of the most comprehensive web dev lists I've seen to date. - paku, on 10/12/2007, -3/+8No Ruby?
- popstalin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5I'd just like to state for the record that I'm no spammer either and am not paid to "digg" things. I'm a web designer/developer and as marklj said, when there's a site that continually offers great resources, as a designer/developer you're going to leave glowing praises. The guy behind Smashing has been providing great stuff for web developers for quite some time now. Smashing is just his newest venture. (Wow, that sounded spammy didn't it!?) Anyway, I just really enjoy what he offers. Period.
- affinity, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6Excellent excellent excellent. I am in the middle of redesigning my personal development site. I have been playing around with AJAX and learning CSS.. this helps a LOT. Thanks =)
- marklj, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6After just a few weeks of being subscribed to Smashing Magazine's RSS I am EXTREMELY impressed with the quality of its content.
- marklj, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Hey dude, I'm not a spammer. If you were a web developer/designer and have seen the type of stuff this guy has been putting up over the past month or so, you would be saying some pretty good comments too.
But now that I look at my previous comment, it does resemble something a spammer would write I suppose. - Homunculiheaded, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I honestly don't think you are a spammer, and I hope I didn't come across as too reactionary. In fact your post was the one that made me confused, because you really don't seem like a spammer... I think my point, which I didn't express well at all, was just that it's getting very frustrating because you can't always tell the difference between a really good site and a really good spam, even if a great site uses spam I think in prinicple it is important to fight it before the web becomes just a market simulacra.
Anyway my apologies, I wasn't trying to point fingers. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Excellent list for people with more than two brain cells and the guts to learn for themselves...well done. (The people posting negative comments here don't live up to that standard).
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2There's too much politeness in the above replies to diggdisc. The guy's a ***** and a monkey. No, sorry, that's insulting to monkeys. This list is ***** GREAT!!!
- Viewel, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Update (27.01.2007): LISP and Ruby tutorials were added.
- dkappe, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1For GWT, see these two on a respective 36 and 6 tutorials: http://blogs.pathf.com/agileajax/2007/07/36-gwt-tu ... and http://blogs.pathf.com/agileajax/2007/09/6-more-gw ...
- kcornwell, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I used digg tutorials to make this site...
http://www.idiotproofwebsite.com - swilburn, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Great comprehensive list for resources
- sameagain, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0agreed. i've dugg and fully read the last 3 or 4 articles they've posted. it's an excellent resource for people starting out or looking for inspiration in the business!
damnit, this was mean to be in re to popstalin - digg noob - jixjimjim, on 05/14/2008, -0/+0a nice hot tight little site
- dalesmatrix, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1The greybox link is worth a visit

- Homunculiheaded, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Thank you for posting that many of these comments look very Spammy!
But I can't figure it out, most of the users seem to be valid, but there is too much hyper-praise for these to be 100% non-spam, I mean it's just a list of links to tutorials a million of these make it too the front page everyweek. This is also at least the 2nd Smashing Magazine front page on the digg home in the last few days that has such praising comments. I mean this is digg, bitching is what people do best here.
I smell spam, but they're getting too good there's no way to prove anything other than the oddly too glowing reviews that mention the site by name. - aamer, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2cool link. barely dugg this though, cause usually i would say no ruby = no digg. but it has enough other tutorials to make up for it.
- SpacemanSpiff, on 10/12/2007, -5/+2The first entry should be:
"How to crash a blog"
Step 1. Submit said blog to digg
Step 2. Profit
End of tutorial - badnewsblair, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1Jeez. Us!
- iamnos, on 10/12/2007, -5/+1First thing I always check on these types of sites is how the PHP tutorial(s) handle MySQL. This one links to at least one tutorial that shows you how to correctly leave yourself wide open to SQL injection attacks. Burried as inaccurate.
- scrimaxinc, on 10/12/2007, -5/+0:::::removed:::::
- diggdisc, on 10/12/2007, -10/+5Digg is such garbage now. So many fake posters boosting the comments of websites designed to make money via clicks. This is why slashdot continues to rule for technical info. Most of this type of garbage is weeded out and never posted, plus the posters are much more informed and the articles much more interesting and directed towards useful technology.
- sockpuppets, on 10/12/2007, -10/+5Read up on the nose picking tutorial, it's hand picked as well.
- jummy, on 10/12/2007, -7/+2http://www.duggmirror.com
- mizlame, on 10/12/2007, -6/+1OMG... The best list ever!
- scrimaxinc, on 10/12/2007, -7/+1@1021
