- beset, on 11/22/2007, -1/+31How http://www.smashingmagazine.com wasn't mentioned I don't know. I always stop there first for inspiration. And no, it's not my site!
- alberto24, on 11/22/2007, -3/+8http://www.htmlcenter.com is a top Web development site as well
- jpozadzides, on 11/22/2007, -4/+9Ummm... don't forget HTMLHelp.com!
- Scheissenegger, on 11/22/2007, -0/+4yeah, and sites like http://www.csseasy.com for simple CSS skeletons.
You can learn a lot from those skeletons if you're a beginner, csszengarden is just too complicated for beginners. - yobrodude, on 11/22/2007, -1/+5Wow, such arrogance and small-mindedness on that page. Best practices in web design is not totalitarian. If someone is telling you to use Photoshop and Imageready for your initial designs, and they insist that is the only solution, tell them you have a great little app called Fireworks that is 10x better, or better yet, tell them you strictly use designs that do not imitate magazines and code by hand. Furthermore, if someone says Web 2.0 is about reflections and cute icons, tell them your actually a LAMP/Flex/Ajax developer and that's what Web 2.0 is, not some "reflective table" effect or drop-shadow. Lastly, if some web-nazi makes a page about the unethical behaviour of hiring what he calls "no!spec" workers, rather "unprofessional designers all over craigslists", and actually makes the claim that he's "protecting future generations", it's time to pull out the guillotine and send these overpaid losers back to 1999 when we were all making G's in the bubble.
- suxmonkey, on 11/22/2007, -2/+5HTMLHelp is definitely a good one to add to that list :) In fact this kind of collection, though it's a great start and very bookmarkable, is always a good opportunity for other people to add whatever they find useful into the mix.
- mrelusive, on 11/22/2007, -0/+2Err. Wasn't it Dave Shea that started CSS Zen Garden?
- inactive, on 11/22/2007, -0/+2webdesignfromscratch FTW.
- eliburford, on 11/22/2007, -2/+3Can't we see a larger image of all of those website thumbnails too? I was looking forward to clicking that :
- mikehill33, on 11/23/2007, -0/+1Great article. worth a DIGG!
- razishaban, on 11/22/2007, -0/+1Did anybody else reaalllyy wanna click the thumbnails at the top?
- theadvinci, on 07/01/2008, -0/+1Nice list. But I don't get the sites green header.

Design Meltdown: http://www.designmeltdown.com/
W3Schools: http://www.w3schools.com/
Web Developer Firefox Plugin: http://chrispederick.com/work/web-developer/ - Scheissen, on 11/23/2007, -0/+1http://www.zfort.com/
That site was a clone of an earlier 2Advanced version. 2Advanced is over rated because their navigation just blows. - 0akley, on 11/23/2007, -0/+1this is my fav http://www.cssremix.com/
- Scheissen, on 11/22/2007, -0/+1http://www.stylecrunch.com/
That's another rating site for CSS. I like these more than sites that all they do is hand out rewards because rewards are limited. - dilibau, on 11/22/2007, -1/+2now THAT is really a troll/blogspam-filled comment....
- bcassner, on 11/23/2007, -0/+1Great collection of sites in article and thanks to everyone who posted their favorite sites in the comments too.
- john247, on 04/09/2008, -0/+0lots of free graphics htp://www.freegraphicscentre.com

Thanks - razishaban, on 11/22/2007, -1/+1I think he was referring to his comment with the last part..
- ciaoalexisb, on 01/24/2008, -0/+0The flikr web design inspiration is great!
- Rageapples, on 11/27/2007, -0/+0Pretty handy
- actionscripted, on 11/23/2007, -1/+1HTMLhelp.com blows. Sorry.
- bonkers217, on 11/27/2007, -0/+0Good list because I don't think there is one design structure for everyone. Different project will require different web designs.
- positron, on 11/22/2007, -3/+2Here's one for the business side of things. Very important stuff to keep in mind so as not to devalue web design and development as a viable and respected career choice for current and future generations: http://www.no-spec.com
- bs3arch, on 11/22/2007, -3/+2nice list
- splinter09, on 11/22/2007, -3/+2Great list, of great help for me, i´m starting to learn web design by myself i that came in very handy.
Thanks - powerline, on 11/26/2007, -1/+0nice list thanks for share....
http://templates-in-a-box.com - Trozz, on 11/23/2007, -1/+0No mention of 2advanced.com? Blah.
- monain, on 11/22/2007, -7/+5hey sux, its really a very handy list. I wish when I was starting into the world of site development I had such a list
Tx for a useful post once again - Thorandor, on 11/22/2007, -4/+1This list is pretty limited. Why "top 12"? For what? Whose top 12 does not include sites like smashinmagazine (as mentioned) or screenfluent or design meltdown?
And what is the bloody point of a Web 2.0 style guide, granted I had good hopes for the guide, but please, Web 2.0 is so over-used I am happy for any client who prefers a non-web2 look?
Buried. - dainBramage, on 11/22/2007, -3/+0bury, wrong page
- TheDude01, on 11/22/2007, -8/+3It's almost a week since the last "Top n sites for webdevlopers/webdesigners". Good job, I was seriously running out of inspiration! Uff, now I'm safe again for a few days.
- maxyRO, on 11/22/2007, -8/+2cool, gonna bookmark it in the n00b folder
- makctg, on 11/22/2007, -8/+2just forwarded the url to my designing team , great list, thanks a lot
- Akraz, on 11/22/2007, -7/+0Thats actually pretty awesome and I can say im not surprised though. Dan Zan is the creator of csszengarden.com.. He was my web dev professor at Sheridan College in Ontario =)
