- RubeusEsclair, on 10/12/2007, -3/+22Its like going to see the World's largest ball of yarn...
So pointless, but so awsome! - XdigitalXdeathX, on 10/12/2007, -2/+17O_O Must Have More.

- Gryfft, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14If only there was a way that this could be my desktop, slowly scrolling from left to right, looping at the ends. Beautiful artwork, I want it ALL as my desktop.. or screensaver..
- manageMyRights, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13The actual resolution of the worm (currently with 113 images) would be 67800 by 450.
- hmemcpy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11So that's what clogging the tubes! A BIG worm!
- trylleklovn, on 10/12/2007, -3/+13I want chicken i want liver
Meow mix meow mix
Please deliver - ravnblue, on 10/12/2007, -2/+11let's kill the worm :P
lol 3 seconds to load... - berfmurret, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9title doesnt say longest image file in pixels. it says longest picture. each 600 pixel image is directly adjacent to one another flowing into eachother to create a single composition. or a picture.

- mrsaturn, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7While not as long as the "Worm Picture," I personally think the Versus Project looks cooler:
http://cubadust.com/versus/index.htm - PFS1, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6If you like Emil's part, you'll love the Versus project:
http://www.cubadust.com/versus/index.htm - BitwiseMcgee, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6I tried writing a bash script that would wget each image and then join em with imagemagick, but apparently the max pixel dimension in imagemagick is 65500 pixels... You could however easily join it into a few images, rather than 113. There's probably better ways, but my bash isn't that great. This resulted in two images 23999x450 and a third image that is 19802x450:
for img in `seq 1 113`
do
echo "fetching $img.jpg"
wget "http://worm.bluesfear.com/$img.jpg"
done
convert +append `seq -s '.jpg ' 1 40`.jpg worm1.jpg
convert +append `seq -s '.jpg ' 41 80`.jpg worm2.jpg
convert +append `seq -s '.jpg ' 81 113`.jpg worm3.jpg - mcwizard, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Anyone know many monitors I need to put together to fit this as my desktop background?
- beelz, on 10/12/2007, -4/+9this was on digg when it first started. like to see it on digg every once and a while just to see the new stuff.
- estvir, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Nope, it's basically whatever you want as long as it 'connects' with the previous one as to make it 'flow.'
- vdog, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4At eleven miles wide, the site with the scale model of the hydrogen atom is far bigger ( http://www.phrenopolis.com/perspective/atom/index.html ), but it's nowhere as cool as this.
Dugg. - estvir, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Yeah, we've had this worm going for ages (Years now ?) and was started by forum member Macbeth though he isn't on there too often anymore.
I've been on Bluesfear for ~3 years or so (As 'guybrush') and it's quite a good starting place for designers, artists and whoever though I never post anymore. :x
This IS a dupe but I won't report it. ;) - stacky, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4lots
- irfaan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Here's one I participated in over at flashkit some time ago:
http://www.gerbick.com/rollcanvas2/html/ - shosterman, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5I prefer the analog sections.
- ActiveMatx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3...nevermind, I just saved all the images. Much better this way anyways. I think number 109 is cool.
- artyraptor, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Dugg for The Mars Volta sighting.
- ActiveMatx, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5Someone make the worm into one .jpg so I can easily save it in my "my pictures" folder.
- keikun, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3wow i want to print this on a really long poster like thing and just put it up around my room
- idonthack, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3@Salmonized
He wouldn't get it. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2anyone feel like making a scrolling slideshow?
- monkeyman08854, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2The poster didn't say longest "Image", he said longest "Picture".
- EmileVictor, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Appreciated guys!
Wait... ?? - RJNavarrete, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Pretty cool.
Definitely think the digital/abstract portions are the best. - Satanael, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2They need to create forums like this for artists... different threads for different themes, and in each thread an artist can tack on his or her own picture to create a seamless compilation like this.
I really love this.
Dugg. - theLingoKid, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2This one is really bad ass as well...
http://www.cubadust.com/versus/index.htm - wwaller, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Neat idea, but some of the images are pretty lame.
- Kazrog, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Awesome work, dugg!
- kimrules, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2"Have all did"?
I weep for our language. - Tomunist, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I was in the queue to sumbit a piece to the BS worm a couple of years ago, but I stopped frequenting the forums long before the list got to me. I can only assume I've been passed over. >_>
- Fulcan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Thats really cool! I wish I could be on the team thats working on it, its really creative! I also love all the little messages that they say to eachother and the half messages that people add on to, funny. Dugg!
- FastZ, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Nice.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Thats Blimpin!
- Shuey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Does anyone have a full spliced copy of the picture (one image file of the entire mural)?
- davori, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2If i find a wall big enough (or room) ill do it. Needs a lot of patience, and cutting and gluing and blutacing though :(
- bloodrain, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1both of them are freaken kickass
- dslartoo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Holy smokes, this is cool. Dugg.
- drilldown, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I love "ScreamingCricket", Picture is quaint fotoshop, but, the name rocks loud.
Gets my vote for effort. - Soniti, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Ahh yes, Bluesfear- Cool to see they're doing something other than just Photoshop tutorials now. Very cool picture-
Dugg for the HL2 Combine sighting.
~Soniti - skydivingdutch, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1yeah but that was like the nucleus and electron, with just black in between. No bandwidth to download it or anything
- Beerduck, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Yikes, if this was rasterbated so that 1 image would fit on a A4 paper in landscape, the 113 images would take 107 sheets and be 31.6 meters in length (103.6 feet).
Insanity. - davori, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Yeah im thinking of rasterbating this actually, i just need to know how long its going to be, i think i could maybe wrap it all around my room :D Anbody any ideas to its length? (in metres please)
- Beerduck, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Whoa, this calls for a rasterbation!
