- james155, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9Some of us are new, very very new to Digg. I am happy to find things of interest, that may be old to some but new to me.
- mike_p, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10It's cluttered because it's just a single page with all the resources you'd need.... in plain text!
If it's any kind of clutter, i'd rather it be that kind (the type that downloads instantly)... - DaveyDeadite, on 10/12/2007, -3/+10Developers, Developers, Developers, Developers, Developers...
- kden, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Looks the same as the last time I saw it, except it has hover-over effect.
- dv8withn8, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7I think they need to redesign their redesign... again.
- rdcapasso, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4"I really don't see the point in this. 9 times out of 10 a developer is going to browse the net to find a solution to a problem, not skimming through thousands of links for interest. A handbook should be used as quick reference.. something this is not."
I agree. However, I think that this is a neat resource for sites to browse around when you have some time so I dug it for that. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Hey Balmer, Deoderant Deoderant Deoderant Deoderant!!!!
- stokestack, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3If it mentions "Web 2.0", credibility = 0.
- inactive, on 11/04/2008, -1/+4It's a developers HANDBOOK, not a developer's website. I'm sure the articles about using em over pt is on the page somewhere.
It's a great place to steal all the links from and import into your bookmarks if you don't want to use the site itself, and I think that's what everyone fails to see here. - Yankees368, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5So the site that teaches site design finally took a lesson at what they teach, very nice
- armbar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Although methodical, that's quite possibly the most useless process I've heard for determining a site's value.
- likwidoxigen, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4Awwww what a cute little troll bot. Here troll bot... here girl... *SMASH* now shhhhh.
- posure, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Spectacular...if I haven't seen it, its new to me!
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+160 cent PR3 links (forever) http://ebayandmyspacefromwork.com/
great for proxy sites, increase your page rank and value now with our cheap links - theadvinci, on 06/19/2008, -0/+1Can't say it was short :)
- sentersoftech, on 03/02/2009, -0/+1been a pleasure to read... I agree with all of the aboves.
- kelfy, on 02/18/2009, -0/+1WOW. This is one of the best web developer resource I've never ever seen. Great collections of all useful stuff. Thank you.
http://www.netguru.net.nz/Services.html - rasko, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1this has been about ages.... no diggity
- therernospoons, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1dang site is giving a 403 on all requests. no digg!
- schibs, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1This is very similar to the old design, but it seems that they tried to make it look more pleasing to the eye. One part that they did incorrectly is the heading boxes. The heading boxes have a 2-3 px border in bright white, this distracts the users from the titles that are underneath the heading and even the title of the heading itself. A very light grey would be optimal on this border. This would allow the user to "see through" to the data that is important.
- cavicster, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I've seen it already but it is a great resource. +digg
- zelot, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Good Resource!, artnez is right about one thing, when you are looking for that specific piece of code you do need to google it and find out the bit you need quickly (usually a last resort when a client is on your back for things to be finished). BUT (and I mean BUT!) when you are looking for something interesting that could be added to a website/web service to give it that extra push or you are looking for some fresh things to do whether for design or development a resource like this is priceless.
It's a pity someone doesn't contact all the owners of the material and get a book made from all this info. - DickBreath, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I clicked. I immediately realized I could dismiss it. White on Black background.
- fuzzboxer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1This isn't a redesign. This is their "pocket edition."
- Svenson, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2I dont see much of a difference either, not a very ground breaking re-design
- artnez, on 10/12/2007, -5/+5No digg, marked as lame.
This isn't all that different than what it used to be.
I really don't see the point in this. 9 times out of 10 a developer is going to browse the net to find a solution to a problem, not skimming through thousands of links for interest. A handbook should be used as quick reference.. something this is not.
You're better off googling than going there... - SultanofSEO, on 07/25/2009, -0/+0He forgot http://seosultan.co.cc/the-clypidus-experiment-an- ... which is important to work on so that you can rank for your topic.
- keesj, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2What's up with all those different colored arrows? No digg, the information architecture is broken.
- kristy77, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0red arrows stand for new content, green arrows for old content.
- servicingyou, on 06/12/2009, -0/+0nice one !
http://www.webmarketingexperts.com.au/ - flemingo, on 10/03/2008, -0/+0If you want to achieve success then your website always has to be seen in top position when client's try to find you.
http://www.xlntseo.com - isulongseoph, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I'm suing this handbook. It's good.
http://isulong.seoph.org - wassim2k, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Looks the same as it did two months ago
- sapo916, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1When this page loaded the Digg count was 404... Thats a Message from God, he told me to the tell you that this isnt close to Ultimate.
- rlgomes, on 10/12/2007, -7/+5for a site that is dealing with web design it lacks a lot of it...
Geez.. can't look too many freaking links per square inch! - PaiTrakt, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1The redesign happened like ... five months ago.
http://www.alvit.de/blog/article/the-web-dvelopers-handbook-re-design
A very useful resource though :) - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -6/+4Agreed. They should have split each section into it's own page and added basic descriptions to each site/link.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1Alot better than how it used to be.
Unfortunately, the links aren't titled very well. I wish there was a better way to categorize the actual content. - Scik, on 10/12/2007, -12/+9Old... very very old.... Good site, but not digging again.
- DraconPern, on 10/12/2007, -7/+2On these so called, web design resources, before I read what the content is, the first thing I check is if the font on the page will scale in IE. If it scales, ok, I will the the advice seriously. In the case of this site, it doesn't scale. Therefore I assume they don't know anything about web design since they can't even get fonts correct.
- AdverseEntropy, on 10/12/2007, -12/+6EEesh! Clutter! Clutter bad!
- cbrack, on 10/12/2007, -8/+1...... what kind of drugs are you on?
- Yuffie, on 10/12/2007, -10/+2SWEET!!! The Web Developer's Handbook is an extensive resource for web site developers with information on CSS, Ajax, Web 2.0, Design, XHTML, Accessibility, SEO and related topics. Now finally redesigned. Actually, Intel says that both Conroe and Merom will both be known as Core 2 Duo and Core 2 Duo Extreme when they launch in the third quarter. Also, as a large scale experiment on search engine behaviour was staged with more than two billion different web pages. This experiment lasted exactly one year, until April 13th. In this period the three mayor search engines requested more than one million pages of the tree, from more than hundred thousand different URLs. And can someone please explain to me why the article disposes the old myth that NASA spent one billion on the space pen, while the Russians just took a pencil to space.

What is Digg?
