Your argument is full of holes (without shadows).

- Jimmni, on 11/23/2008, -5/+9It's a plate attached directly to a wall (and not raised above it) with a pretend shadow painted around it to give the impression of 3D and the impression of a different shadow. It's not photoshopped, it's not 3D, it's just mildly clever. The illusion would also only work from fairly specific angles, so in real life would immediately look faked unless you walked up to it from just the right angle.
