- PaulPi3rce, on 12/18/2007, -10/+71The winner probably already has a MacBook Pro
- pleasureman, on 12/18/2007, -4/+50Damn! That winning entry is just outta this world…extremely detailed with an incredible atmosphere. Being restricted with the alternators, this is a true masterpiece!
- Mononuclear, on 12/18/2007, -3/+43Do people making the "shopped" jokes in this article think they are being witty? That aside... this are some very creative stuff and very talented I could never do anything like this.
- hernam19, on 12/18/2007, -1/+30honestly -- did all these people actually BUY photoshop....
- dbulli, on 12/18/2007, -0/+28Awesome work ... but I like 2 much better based on rules ... one seemed to be bending the rules a little bit ... even though they said it in the first comment. Rigged? ... still 1 is awesome ...
- Oshi, on 12/18/2007, -3/+30I wish I could be this creative
- bigtitspics, on 12/18/2007, -3/+30i dont agree with the first place. there were better artworks there
- D3koy, on 12/18/2007, -15/+41The reflections are all wrong, shopped for sure...
- LowROI, on 12/18/2007, -17/+36real winners don't use macs.
*ducks - jackmaht, on 12/18/2007, -1/+18I wish they would just show a tutorial on how to make one of these. I just want to see how ridiculous it is to make one. It would be really interesting.
- inactive, on 08/11/2008, -7/+22Photoshop on Mac == Photoshop on Windows
Get over it - leolll, on 12/18/2007, -1/+16This obviously coming from a programmer :)
- BlueSkyfish, on 12/18/2007, -1/+16Yeah, it was really done in GIMP.
- manmademark, on 12/18/2007, -2/+14How would her dressed get pinned up so high?
Apollo's house was pretty creative and fun. - bejayel, on 12/18/2007, -0/+9Ilook at these and the talent of some people amazes me. I could never hope to make anything like this in my life.I guess if everyone could do it, then nobody would be amazed though right?
Good submission - grantmoore3d, on 12/18/2007, -1/+10So glad I didn't bother making an entry... I would have been totally schooled.
- inactive, on 08/11/2008, -0/+8Wow...the best thing I can make in Photoshop is a logo or button...
- TGMD, on 12/18/2007, -0/+8There's a group of source photos at the top that they could use, they could use those and no other, everything else had to be original.
You'll notice that a lot used knives as well - inactive, on 08/11/2008, -0/+8Ahh...I was just some waiting for some "genius" to use that joke. It just never gets old
- ThankTheCheese, on 12/18/2007, -3/+9I notice a great number of them feature the same house. I assume this was a requirement of the competition and not a coincidence, but then why do some of them not include the house?
- inactive, on 08/11/2008, -0/+5Well..what do you expect...Someone says it in almost every ***** thread, no matter how random it is in context.
- dustedotnet, on 12/18/2007, -0/+5The competition involved using stock photos/images and photoshopping them to form a piece of art. The wooden house was one of these photos, and you'll also notice the knife that is seen in the winning image is seen in a number of other images too.
- bejayel, on 12/18/2007, -0/+4Most of them were'nt altered, but rather, created with Adobe Photoshop Software
- Shenaniganz08, on 12/18/2007, -0/+3that chick's hot !
- EndersGame, on 12/18/2007, -0/+3I agree this list is a LOT better than the list that hit the front page a few days ago. (whoever compiled the last one has a fascination with car alternators) On a side note I don't think that ladies head is in a good position in relation to the bulls eye.
- macwac, on 12/18/2007, -0/+3second that! Also for me to learn how they do it - i'm amazed! A lot better than the crap i make..
- jwhite5, on 12/18/2007, -1/+4no doubt. but this is the only case where the accusation could be, "man, these are totally not photoshopped."
- gagman, on 12/18/2007, -0/+3Because they were supposed to use the source photo's.
- chonuts, on 12/18/2007, -0/+2Very cool. The Ark was definitely my favorite. I really like the explanation they give for why they chose the winner - despite the source images occupying a small area of the image, they're absolutely central to it, and "central" doesn't necessarily mean "large." The explanation enforces the idea that people shouldn't focus as much on incorporating as many of the source images as possible, and instead focus more on trying to be as creative as they can in the traditional artistic sense. Express the unexpressable.
- slaystench, on 12/18/2007, -1/+3Unfortunately, yes.
- s0nicfreak, on 12/18/2007, -0/+2I think it's actually suppose to be called; Contest Compairing Images Manipulated With Adobe® Photoshop®
- AussieFox, on 12/18/2007, -1/+3Thats the thing, he did follow the rules -
"We said in the rules that we require one or more of the source images to be a 'central part of your design', and in our judgement 'central' is by no means synonymous with 'large'.
The fact that she's a target for a knife thrower, with knifes stuck around her, makes it a 'central' part of the pic - chicoer2001, on 12/18/2007, -0/+2Round one had some good stuff. http://www.crestock.com/blog/design/photoshop-cont ...
- sdellboy, on 12/18/2007, -0/+2And your entry was where exactly?
- crakbot, on 12/18/2007, -0/+2I do think it was unfair to the other artists. You can rationalize it as they did but the winner clearly bent the rules too far which allowed him/her to make a piece that stood out. Nice artwork though by everybody.
- aurrea, on 12/18/2007, -0/+2Why does the winning image only have 95 votes?
- Shorties, on 12/18/2007, -0/+2its starting to
- Shenaniganz08, on 12/18/2007, -0/+2speaking of this contest, have you guys seen the entries for the last round
not choosing sides but this picture is beautiful http://www.crestock.com/blog/design/contest2007/en ...
its my new cellphone wallpaper :P - Sprules04, on 12/18/2007, -1/+3My friend came in 8th place. Although I think he deserved to be at least a couple higher than that :/
- inactive, on 12/18/2007, -0/+1Agree. Really top notch collection. AND! Nary a "floral vector swirlie thingy". Could this finally be the end of "floral vector swirlie thingies" once and for all? PLEASE, LET IT BE SO!
- betterth, on 12/18/2007, -0/+1Delete me :(
Gorram comment system.
Yeah, I used a Firefly curse. What's it to you. - wiifm69, on 12/18/2007, -0/+1Hi res http://www.sideshowsito.com/xiolita_hi_res.jpg
- Snowdaddy, on 12/18/2007, -0/+1I'm going to have to agree with Jamima69z... This first one is a good image but according to the rules it should have gotten maybe an honorable mention with a disclaimer about too little use of source imagery. the other individuals in the contest worked equally hard and probably feel cheated. With this decision Crestock might just lose out on some individuals participating in further contests.....
- wild, on 12/18/2007, -0/+1I don't know. The bird tail feathers used to finish off the dress were a nice way to work everything in. You can kind find all of the photos, which is different than any of the other entries.
- sdellboy, on 12/18/2007, -0/+1Are people making the 'shopped' comments, stupid or trying to be funny? Either way, they're hurting my brain.
Maybe they'd turn up at a Formula One race and go 'this is so stupid...they're obviously using cars to get round the track'? - dslartoo, on 12/18/2007, -0/+1This is the ONLY "Photoshopped" joke in this thread that is actually amusing.
- evan119, on 12/18/2007, -0/+1Was it just me or did a lot of those very similar. Seemed like 3/4 of them were some rendition of a small house in a field.
- inactive, on 12/18/2007, -0/+1Your comment is clearly faked.
- likeyehokwhatev, on 12/18/2007, -0/+1Silly hernam, torrents are free!
