Some of those remind me of ET's Ship. I love architecture though, and can't wait to see some of these space age designs come to life.

I love modern architecture, but I cannot stand when I see graphical renderings of buildings that have yet to be built. Your reputation should be built on what has been created in real life, not what is on the computer or on paper. I am glad we see some of the actual buildings in use, but they should remove the drawings. Not real life.

Unless i missed it, it would have been nice to have some info on what the images were. Location and Type of building would have been cool to know.

Nouvel is well deserving of the prize. Barcelona's Torre Agbar is a stunning building.

So we've come full circle to the point where "hi tech" is now once again synonymous with, "odd looking, impractical, illogical, nonsensical, formless, and awkward" I don't understand why words like "futuristic" are always applied to works of art and design that look like the things Mr. Nouvel's produces. What is it about the future that necessitates everything looking like melted plastic? Will advances in construction material force us to produce excessively acute angles and difficult-to-discern features? Some of what I see here is beautiful for what it is, but I don't believe it requires any more imagination or skill to produce these shapes than any of the rest of us have.

Not a fan of the haphazard placement of the structural steel. Exposed steel (and visible structural elements) came out of the idea that form follows function and that the engineering and technology of a building could significantly contribute to its aesthetic, that by using creativity and science we could make a monstrous building beautifully simple and elegant. The structural placement here is a mess, going a step back from modernity to primitive - a birds nest almost. I greatly dislike some of these "modern" architects that seem to be hell-bent on destroying the progress of man's technological and financial monuments by ignoring - nay, flaunting - the great strides made in engineering and trying to represent the primitive, or worse, creating buildings to represent the deconstruction of these advances (Gehry).

Wake me up when there's actual buildings to show.

wtf people, these the most beautiful buildings i've ever seen, and it takes a lot of talent to create them in pictures and real life, compare these building to most of the ugly buildings you see now

The Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis is truly amazing. This award is well deserved.

i like the gold anus structure that people are walking into.

the title should read "Stunning UNBUILT Work of Hi Tech Architecture:Pritzker Winner Jean Nouvel". It's a lot easier to win with fantasy designs than a career of built work. Anyone can look good on paper.

OVERRATED. Jean Nouvel's work is the equivalent of Independence Day in film.

i think this guy is pretty good. I espically love torre agbar, similar to the gherkin in london but seeing it in person all lit up was pretty kool. If it was a normal aluminum clad building then i dont think it would fit the barca skyline so well, im not saying it goes in really well but the shades of colour seem to work

Seems like all you need is a bunch of money and some ideas to design those buildings.
