- jhuang16888, on 10/11/2007, -8/+110Dodge Charger is def the most intimidating out of them all
- Rethcir, on 10/11/2007, -1/+68This guy should have included the ubiquitous Crown Vic for those people around the world who are not familiar with the most popular US police vehicle for the past 20 years or so...
- Lane5slacker, on 10/11/2007, -6/+66VW Beetle: The opposite of intimidation
- dorkcits, on 10/11/2007, -1/+55The "THIS VEHICLE WAS SEIZED FROM A LOCAL DRUG DEALER" car is from Denton, Texas. I went to the University of North Texas for 4 years and have seen that car driving around town countless times.
- mrgreenjeans, on 10/11/2007, -0/+50'cause it's a Lamborghini.

From my home county, Kern County. And yes, this is real. - bodger, on 10/11/2007, -0/+35So... the disguise works then?
- bbcountach, on 10/11/2007, -0/+31if our department gave out mercedes, everyone would would be an officer!
- PRlME, on 10/11/2007, -0/+31About 5 years ago in New York (Brooklyn, East NY) a guy robed a corner store and one of those cops came in a little 3 wheel cart. The guy was running and the cop was speeding after him. The Cop hit a pot hole and the cart went into the air and landed on its side. The Robber stopped running and ran back to the cop and flipped cart up right and helped the cop out of the cart. The officer was kinda fuqed up. Then after helping the cop to the side walk the robber took off running. It was the funnest thing i ever seen now that i look back at it.
- TomRemixed, on 10/11/2007, -2/+33I was expecting it to transform into a giant robot and ask me if I was Ladiesman217.
- jaromir68, on 10/11/2007, -2/+32OK, now someone add some MP3 clips of how different the sirens all sound.
- TheUngod, on 10/11/2007, -1/+31With all the great German cars and the German Police get....a minivan.
- liambarron, on 10/11/2007, -2/+26Been living in Toronto for 16 years and have never once seen a cop car that looks like a taxi cab.
- bencefeher, on 10/11/2007, -3/+23I agree. The Lamborghini and Porsche are cool, but that charger... They started using Dodge Chargers in Connecticut and a few other states in the US recently. The first time I saw some (2), they were both all black and sitting along the highway, one after another; they looked ready to hunt. It sent a chill down my spine as I drove by and kept a constant eye on my rear-view.
- Nicksname1, on 10/11/2007, -5/+24I think the Lambo would be the most intimidating if it was in my rear-view mirror.
- gordonf238, on 10/11/2007, -0/+17Geez, the Germans drive around in the E-class Benz? That's what I call policing in style. NYC cops get a tricycle.
- LandStander, on 10/11/2007, -1/+17Now it's only old people that drive them. I always slow down when I see em coming behind me, just to find out its some old couple.
- ostracize, on 10/11/2007, -0/+15I've seen a story about a Lamborghini cop car in Italy. Built for the sole purpose of stopping the 200+ KPH drivers.
- Bakkster, on 10/11/2007, -1/+16Best part is that the cops can now spend money on more important things than their vehicles. All police should use as much seized property as they can, assuming of course they can prove that it's justified in being seized and it has a legitimate use.

- capiCrimm, on 10/11/2007, -0/+14how ***** would it be for the local drug dealer to later be pulled over by his own car?
- dagr8tim, on 10/11/2007, -2/+16While the Charger is cool, where is the Impala & Crown Vic? Ford still has the lion's share of the US police market with the Crown Victoria.
- bencefeher, on 10/11/2007, -8/+20dugg down for thinking that the US is so much more badass in its speeding habits than any other country. BTW police cars are hardly ever stock engines.
- stmiller, on 10/11/2007, -0/+12Yeah no kidding. Mercedes in Europe is like Ford to people in the US. Meh.
- BuddyleeR, on 10/11/2007, -2/+13I'm from germany and the porsche patrol cars are very much real, trust me.
- sexybobo, on 10/11/2007, -2/+13I own a crown vic police interceptor. and let me tell you the people that are speeding really fast then slam on their breaks when they see me makes my day funny as hell and happens all the time. scared the ***** out of me first couple of times it happened thought i thought they saw something i didn't
- orxor, on 10/11/2007, -2/+13Not all Mercedes are luxury cars. You can even find Mercedes taxi cabs in Europe. They just don't want to dilute the luxury status that everyone in the US associates with them. The same is true with BWM that's why you don't see any BMW 1 series in the US.
- Daiken, on 10/11/2007, -0/+10I've seen some Dodge Chargers around Toronto.
- MrZop, on 10/11/2007, -0/+10The Vancouver one on the first page is misleading. It's actually a School Liaison Officers' car. That is nothing like regular Vancouver (VPD) or (RCMP) Vehicles look like.
But other then that local gripe, good list, and some weird looking police cars. - KniteWulf, on 10/11/2007, -0/+10The car with blue/black, white, with some form of "police" written on the side and lightbars on top?
- jftitan, on 10/11/2007, -0/+10The Lamborghini gets used all the time.... on the Autobahn... I can't say that I've seen one in use, but I remember reading articles, and watching videos as they unveiled it at one of the enterances of the Autobahn, with a sign saying "We can catch you now". Or something like that.
The Dodge Charger is nice though. - badjoke, on 10/11/2007, -1/+11I was just in Italy a week ago and took a couple snaps of the hottest cop car I've ever seen personally.
Alfa Romeo 159 used by the Polizei (normal police)

And by the Carabinieri (via wikipedia)
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/a/a8/2june_2007_015.jpg - cyberdork, on 10/11/2007, -0/+9Since policing is a matter of the individual states in Germany there are a large number of different types of cars used all over the country. In Bavaria for example BMWs, in Lower-Saxony VWs. The Porsche and Mini on that page are pure PR cars and not used by the police. Practical cars are also preferred over fast cars, since high speed pursuits are basically unheard of in Germany.
- mercurysquad, on 10/11/2007, -0/+9yeah actually I have never seen a taxi in Europe (esp Germany) which was NOT a Mercedes.
- holygram, on 10/11/2007, -1/+10They use Gallardos in Italy...why didn't those make the list?
- smackhero, on 10/11/2007, -1/+9i think that just encourages wrongful seizures, which is an especially big problem with the drug war since you don't get the seized property back even if you're cleared of all charges. that's just one of the many things wrong with the drug war.
- hypoh, on 10/11/2007, -0/+8Japan has a lot more cars: http://www.teamrage.ph/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1129
- Daiken, on 10/11/2007, -0/+8Interesting but a lot of countries have a very large variety of police cars. For example, often in India, police come in jeeps.
- gmprunner, on 10/11/2007, -1/+9I presume you mean the criminals, Dr. Ungrateful.
- NinjaDuck12, on 10/11/2007, -0/+7Not only are 99% of taxis in Germany Mercedes, so are buses, tractors and much construction equipment (bobcats and the like).
- CompIsMyRx, on 10/11/2007, -0/+7They have Charger patrol cars in Urbana as part of the University of Illinois campus police. They certainly are intimidating.
- ricodued, on 10/11/2007, -0/+7The local police in my town have an all-black Charger for one of the cars. Every time I see it my foot moves to the brakes, often times when I'm doing the speed limit. It's really intimidating for a cop car.
- NuchDog, on 10/11/2007, -1/+8Why does the car from India have a dildo on the hood?
- ElectricGrandpa, on 10/11/2007, -0/+7Yep I also agree with the charger comment... By far the coolest looking cop cars I've seen around here.
- danakin, on 10/11/2007, -5/+12http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.gadling.com/media/2007/07/police17.jpg
Owned! - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -1/+8They have a porshe on the other page. After all, they have the autobahn.
- sixlaneve, on 10/11/2007, -0/+7Yep, we (Italians) actually use the Gallardo, expecially for Health Emergencies....
Anyway, Italian Police also had one FERRARI in the 70s. They just used it in Rome
http://www.poliziadistato.it/pds/chisiamo/storia/autostoriche/images/ferrari2_big.jpg - Gryffydd, on 10/11/2007, -3/+10It's not about badass speeding habits, it's about geography and population density.
- fohf, on 10/11/2007, -1/+8I wouldn't pull over. how am I suppose to know it is a police vehicle when it clearly looks like a taxi?
- MasterThief117, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6I haven't seen the Charger actually used as a cop car, but more of a recruiting tool. My neighbor has one of these, and he is a recruiter for his station. It is an awesome car.
