Not quite the same level, but you've got to start somewhere! - n1000, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"Ball-Joint" is the 1337357 thing I have seen.
- Sofa_King_Jank, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I love how most people think they are such bad-asses when posting comments, stating how this was posted before..."No Digg." Who really gives a ***** if you digg it or not.
- silentauthority, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1dude.. what happens when you want to sharpen it..
- marc-ee, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Nice pencils... Very ugly site design.
- Victr, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Coolest thing ever.
- danthemanb, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0How do you say, "Too much time on their hands" in Japanese?
- birdadderley, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Hey guys... since diamond has a - delta G for conversion to graphite (after several thousand years diamond wants to spontaneously turn into a pencil), buy your fiances/wives/girlfriends one of these pencils and tell them "Hey! Graphite lasts forever".
Now graphite may not be a girl's best friend, but people need to adapt sometime. It would probably help with your budget too, but don't try and attach it to a ring (unless you want to make a self-defense product that's cheaper than mace). - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0thegreenarrow: "all i ask is.....why?"
it's art, man. it needs no other reason. it is its own reason. - SatansMagicHat, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I thought the whole point of the internet was for people to show off their completely worthless, but absolutely amazing talents? Anyways, this fits the bill. +digg everyone.
- CLIFFosakaJAPAN, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This must be a trend going on here in Japan because about 3 months ago, I was sitting in Starbucks and saw this guy carving up a pencil. I noticed from the pics that he was using the same Mitsubishi brand Green Penils, which are the best sellers here. Never hung around to see the finished product though...
DIGG++ - qx4_man, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I'm betting a Dremel tool was used for these... still pretty cool. dugg...
- illu45, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0@x2dx: You bring a knife to school?
Cool stuff, though, love the six-fold spiral. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0wicked. the ball joint is the best. i'm pullin' out my knife and pencil right now!
+digg (i hope i don't cut myself) - Twenty, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Damn, ... Makes me feel guilty for using a mechanical pencil.
- laughterkillsme, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0But can you write with it?
- Reliant, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0humans are crazy :)
and what sir exactly are you supposed to be? - Shen, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"Hmm... what shall I do with these pencils? I know, I'll carve them into various shapes!" As you do...
Still cool though. - markperia, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0how bout teeth carved pencils? Ive got some stacked right here.
- teh_toaster, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0It _could_ be tech if they wrote a program to do it with a laser cutter.
Those pencils are good reasons for pocket protectors. - kamizu, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0@ silentauthority
i was just about to say that. despite its impractibility, i digg cuz its cool anyway... - Dummies102, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0amazing. may be old but I still digg
- p5ychop3nguin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Mitsubishi makes pencils??? wow, i gotta ge me sommma them.

- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Wow, what talent!
- thehickoks, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Super cool...
But SUPER OLD!!!!!!!!! - locojones, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This is badass, and immensely creative. I think all the bitching and moaning coming from these folks is that they're just jealous they don't have the talent to do anything similar.
- JaggedEdge, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0@Tobey... you stole my words.
- mackoid101, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0What about when you have to sharpen it?
- telcontar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Looks like something one would do while in prison.
- green1152, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Very cool.. and who said it has to be tech?
- sqthreer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0That's awesome :D
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0and i though i was tallented
- sramelyk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I posted this because I couldn't find it posted before.. I apologize if its old, and has been dugg before.. Nonetheless, I thought it was cool and wanted to share.
- regedit2D, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0that's crazy. It may be a waste of time, but it gave them something to do, so whatever.
- roeboedog, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0So you know when you see someone do something you can't do because you would scream and would end up killing someone if forced to figure out how to come up with something this creative.
way cool! Does anyone remember the "Doozers" on Fraggle Rock, they must have hired them to hollow out the middle of those things. - doug_brit, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Either the pictures are sloppy or the carving is alittle either way I can digg it.
- brewer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0what is it about the asian (especially japanese) doing extremely intricate and time-intensive art with everyday objects? (another example: rice-writing).
- aaron.dunlap, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0that is freaking awesome
- x2dx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This is something you would do in school while the teacher is blabing on about something you couldent give a ***** about.
- 23seconds, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0oh.
my.
god. - monfoo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0WOW imagine the precision and Patience that requires. at least the medium is inexpensive so the learning curve doesn't cost a fortune in materials. This makes ships in bottles seem mundane.
- aznbond, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Crazy japanese
- superspak, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0thats awesome
- zenghost, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0i bet one day theres gonna be a market for these exotic pencils. +digg
- thegreenarrow, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0all i ask is.....why?
- hyperation, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0amazing.
- 9enisP, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I loved seeing this on Digg back in May and competely forgot about it. There are some new designs on there now.
Don't you just love these people that when they see something on digg that they might have seen before, they run and search for it to make sure it was posted before and then bash whoever posted it again. Well, if it got 202 diggs back then and 1571 diggs now, then that 1571 people that haven't seen it before would never have if you didn't post it again. +1 digg -
