I mean, the least they could have done would be to make the extension match the original black tabletop.
One of my big pet peeves is invisible furniture, meaning tables with completely transparent glass tops. This is even worse -- it's visible furniture with invisible parts sticking out of it. We could call this one, "put a glass table top on stuff and call it a new kind of dinning table".
