- eridius, on 10/12/2007, -47/+128These are all exactly the same thing: water erosion. Hardly a miracle, and thoroughly understood by high school-level science.
- Scynet, on 10/12/2007, -6/+61I was more amazed by the giant cargo ships in the link:

That is so Myst-esque (or Riven or something, it's been a really long time) - morgrar, on 10/12/2007, -3/+33Still, erosion definitely looks cool on these pictures.
- tinkafoo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+23what ads? (..turns off adblock plus) oh.
(turns it back on.) - deadish, on 10/12/2007, -2/+25That's funny. I didn't realize being Arab was a religion...
- MrBabyMan, on 10/12/2007, -2/+22This was Scaramonga's private island in the Bond film "The Man With the Golden Gun"
- TheElectricMonk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+17wtf? digg really needs a "delete comment" option
- askmewhy, on 10/12/2007, -3/+15Not a miracle but cool never the less
- appletalk, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13I, for one, wasn't going to ask anything.
- revolvingcur, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12Swear I thought the 4th-to-last image was a screenshot of Riven when I first saw it.
- danlovejoy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10Yes, that's right. The Andaman coast, south of Phuket. When we went, we got to go in little sea canoes into one of the islands. There were two of us and one Thai guide in each boat. We went through a cave that was only accessible during low tide. At one point we had to lie flat in the boat because there was very little clearance.
The interior of the island was a lagoon completely surrounded by high rock walls. It was unbelievable - glorious. And that's not even mentioning the beaches or the coral reefs. Plus, the Thai people are so hospitable. It's an amazing place to visit. - SeaBass22, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9What ads? Adblock FTW
- eugeneandbobo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9you could just leave it as stupid people
- Braingoo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8Man Crysis is starting to look really good.
- sTiVo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8There were ads?
- Touchdown, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8Here's one I've always liked

http://english.ust.is/media/natturuminjasvaedi/stor/Dyrholaey_skorin.jpg - thefirelane, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7It is called sarcasm. Basically, Natural bridges are a perfect example of irreducible complexity... but a perfect example of why it is logically false. Remove any part of the bridge and it collapses, but that doesn't mean its formation REQUIRES intelligence.
- ManxShearwater, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6must be a joke...
- Alequisandro, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Oh my!
Myst III Exile come to my mind after I saw those images
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v442/iftk/01/46_island_89198.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v442/iftk/01/42_island_133236.jpg - tmattoneill, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6They are all in the bay to the east of Phuket in Thailand. "James Bond Island" is to the north and some of these are farther south (ko phi phi). Basically, the whole bay is rife with these eroded towers.
http://www.viaggiareliberi.it/THAILANDIA/Phuket_map.jpg - enderwig, on 10/12/2007, -9/+14And just what the hell is this?
http://static.iftk.com.br/mt/2007/02/self_flagellation.html - baxtermaddux, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4anyone know where these are located?
- Hespestos, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I wish people would stop using the word "miracle" incorrectly!
- ZheAldo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Some of them looked very Riven-like, same rock color, same green water, same wooden bridges. Erosion or not, those are a very cool bunch of pictures.
- jakobahman, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4All of these are from Thailands west coast, I am sure.
- mrfish, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Yeah an we all know sarcasm is best understood in written form!
- detrux, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3These are all from the same 50 km area in Thailand, and 4 of the pictures are from the same island.. still cool, but definitely not the best formations in the region between Ao Pra Nang and Phuket
- RareSaturn, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I see no architecture and I see no miracles. All I see is erosion.
- crux0, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Not in the same location, but the same basic idea:

Woooo! - timothiuz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3http://duggmirror.com/design/PICTURES_Architectural_Miracles_of_Nature/
- takehiro12, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Good call. I thought the same thing when I saw the tall one where he had the solar collector.
- TehChrisMeister, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Off to play some good ol' FarCry now...
- Jeuk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Do these remind anyone else of Pirates of the Caribbean?
I am almost sure a scene is from one of those exact places. - syco123, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Hat Rei Lei, Thailand and surroundings. Climbing the overhangs is a laugh, no ropes and only a splash when you biff. A climber dream.
- SeppukuBLUE, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3The landforms, I believe, are actually the cores of old volcanoes, which is how they`ve been able to rot away but stay like they are. There used to be a whole lot more to them.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2@bombadier337
I was thinking Riven as well when I seen that one. - kevyn, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4the 4th pic from the bottom reminds me of the start of HL2 lost coast
- undersky, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3How those giant transporter ships work.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Semi-submersible - danlovejoy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Sure. They're all over it: http://bbs.keyhole.com/ubb/showthreaded.php/Number/294866
Unfortunately, the resolution is lousy, and they're not that interesting from above. - neuros, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Yes, which is very near "The Beach" from... "The Beach". All in the Andaman sea in Thailand.
God it's so gorgeous there... - Flarup, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Don't know if anyone has mentioned it, but most of these pictures are from Thailand - i've been to several of the places - from what i can recognize we've got Koh Phi Phi (ley and don) and a single from Maya bay which was used in the Movie the Beach. suprisingly theres also a few from Koh Nangyang just outside of Koh Tao. I also recognize the infamous "James Bond island" as it has been duped by Thai Authorities, after it featured in the old James bond movie "The Man With the Golden Gun", as a few has already noted.
god i miss Thailand. Thanks for the pictures. Funny to see them on Digg. - JAKN, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2reminds me of Roca Bruja (witches rock) in northern Costa Rica. Legend says the rock was put there by a witch, as it is in the middle of a sandy bay and doesn't appear to match the rock in the area. The vultures constantly circling over it seem to confirm the story. It's now known as a remote surf spot.
- PlancksCnst, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Same here, especially the one with the boardwalk. That looks straight out of Myst. I actually had to take a second, closer, look because I thought it actually was a Myst screenshot, but it isn't.
- eetraveller, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Most of those photos are taken from the small but breathtaking Hat Phra Nang Beach, near Railay beach in Krabi Province, Thailand.
- jagtar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2been there seen it, near phuket, and i can recognise the bay, one of the phi phi islands, nearly died on the way there, rough sea... good times though
- mrfish, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2"I may be small but i NEVER forget!"
- napier, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Has anyone found this on Google Earth yet?
