So to keep the sanity, it's good to have links in English or a translation in English. If you had posted a link to this on the German version of Digg (or whatever language that is), then we'd have no right to complain, but alas you didn't.

  • Scottish, on 10/12/2007, -1/+17I'm a little worried about the "Precision Select" cursor. It's... quite fat, and doesn't seem like it would be conducive to precise selecting, but maybe I'm wrong.

    and here's install instructions for those who don't open up 'Read Me.txt' files:

    Install:
    --------
    - Extract the archive to a temporary folder.
    - Right click the "Install.inf" file and click on "Install"
    - Choose the cursor set in the control panel mouse applet
    It appears as "Aero Cursors (Alphablended)"

    Troubleshooting:
    ----------------
    When the shadow on the cursors look like crap (which can happen on
    some systems) you should turn 2D hardware acceleration a nod down.
    You can do that this way:
    - Display Properties -> Settings -> Advanced -> Troubleshoot
    - Set "Hardware Acceleration" one nod down

If you're too lazy to bother figuring out how to surf a non-english site, don't bother with it and don't complain, since it's not for you.

  • asurroca, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6This is hillarious. I never thought I'd hear "it's a ripoff of [insert cursor set]" for a set of cursors that are almost indistinguishable from the regular set. Aside from the "busy" cursor.. (why'd I get a fast computer, now I'll never see that blue ring!)

    I guess we're that desperate for Visa, eh?

    I do like the arrow cursor in that it has a "small stem," like many linux cursors have.
    However, I wish the I-beam weren't so thick.

    But great set! Thanks for spending the time to compile it and make it easy to use.

  • Sp1k3d, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3What a total rip-off of Jimmac's industrial cursor for linux. The cursor and ibeam are almost exactly the same and the busy part of the cursor is in the EXACT same spot.
  • MrCalifornia, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3It's not exactly a complex design. It's a 25 pixel square with 8 pixels removed and then rotated to be a diamond. I don't think it's that hard to believe that 2 people could have come up with it independently.

    Except the new pointer and throbbers, they're just gussied up versions of the original Windows cursors. Still, it's about time they redesigned those bad boys.
