- mightymouse, on 10/12/2007, -1/+60Sweet. I'm using them now. They work perfectly.

The instructions are in english, so don't worry. - BTrey, on 10/12/2007, -7/+33Not to mention that the sitecomplete design and logo is a complete ripoff of Godbit.
See:

http://godbit.com/ - wicketr, on 10/12/2007, -2/+28While I agree that English isn't the only language, you are on Digg which is an English site. So to keep the sanity, it's good to have links in English or a translation in English. If you had posted a link to this on the German version of Digg (or whatever language that is), then we'd have no right to complain, but alas you didn't.
- violentvinyl, on 10/12/2007, -1/+20And the one we'll probably see the most of ;-)
- Scottish, on 10/12/2007, -1/+17I'm a little worried about the "Precision Select" cursor. It's... quite fat, and doesn't seem like it would be conducive to precise selecting, but maybe I'm wrong.
Still, they're gorgeous. Thanks! - scheming, on 10/12/2007, -1/+14i like the new waiting cursor, much better than watching sand fall in the time glass.
here's a screen shot of the folder view of the cursors:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/97356582@N00/177005304/
and here's install instructions for those who don't open up 'Read Me.txt' files:
Install:
--------
- Extract the archive to a temporary folder.
- Right click the "Install.inf" file and click on "Install"
- Choose the cursor set in the control panel mouse applet
It appears as "Aero Cursors (Alphablended)"
Troubleshooting:
----------------
When the shadow on the cursors look like crap (which can happen on
some systems) you should turn 2D hardware acceleration a nod down.
You can do that this way:
- Display Properties -> Settings -> Advanced -> Troubleshoot
- Set "Hardware Acceleration" one nod down - Odweaver, on 10/12/2007, -2/+15Screenshots?
- Bloc, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11the best touch about the busy cursor is the way the pointer has a blue reflection from the spinning thingy.
- dvddesign, on 10/12/2007, -18/+26Newzflash! America isn't the only country in the world. There's more web pages in languages other than english that are read everyday. If you're too lazy to bother figuring out how to surf a non-english site, don't bother with it and don't complain, since it's not for you.
- apocxp, on 10/12/2007, -5/+13If you post on an english website, then make sure the article is in english.
- Loon, on 10/12/2007, -3/+10It's Norwegian.
- stomicron, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7These are nice, but shadow effect doesn't work on them. Too bad.
- odysseus, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8Hope they still include the 'Windows Black' cursor-scheme in Vista. Besides being an almost exact rip of the Mac cursors, Black is also much easier to find on screen.
- ChippyLasticko, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9Relax - just hit the download link in the middle of the paragraph, and try them out if you want.
- asurroca, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6This is hillarious. I never thought I'd hear "it's a ripoff of [insert cursor set]" for a set of cursors that are almost indistinguishable from the regular set. Aside from the "busy" cursor.. (why'd I get a fast computer, now I'll never see that blue ring!)
I guess we're that desperate for Visa, eh? - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Answers :
1) Yes.
2) About a week before the release. - rosschilen, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7doesn't look like much to get excited about
- Zhay, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4What a perfect set of cursors. Finally, Microsoft got something right ;)
I do like the arrow cursor in that it has a "small stem," like many linux cursors have.
However, I wish the I-beam weren't so thick.
But great set! Thanks for spending the time to compile it and make it easy to use. - templest, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4You know, *I* don't even speak (let alone read) the language,
and I still figured to click the *only* link in the article titled,
"Nye Windows Vista musepekere"
Common sense, it never hurt anyone. - Mkay, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3SCREEN SHOTS:

[sorry too late to post] - morphie, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3There are thousands of alpha blended mouse cursors on the web. Why is this one more special? Anyway, I've sees better mouse cursors, like the jimmac cursors. :)
- david76, on 10/12/2007, -6/+9@btrey
The logo obviously is, but saying the rest of the site is a ripoff is a bit of a stretch. - Shutter, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Awesome. MS should have made cursors antialiased in XP by default.
- Sp1k3d, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3What a total rip-off of Jimmac's industrial cursor for linux. The cursor and ibeam are almost exactly the same and the busy part of the cursor is in the EXACT same spot.
- MrCalifornia, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3It's not exactly a complex design. It's a 25 pixel square with 8 pixels removed and then rotated to be a diamond. I don't think it's that hard to believe that 2 people could have come up with it independently.
- Tatusmi, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4works great. no cursor shadows though (I don't care... coworker is ranting).
- webcrumb, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I think I had an email about getting a Visa...
- CheapDigWannbe, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3It seems a bit more laggy now, the cursor, anyone else notice that?
- Jugalator, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Maybe it's forcing Windows to use a "hardware cursor"? Hmm, I'm not well introduced into these things, but I wouldn't be surprised if that would be related to overlay surfaces used to accelerate the video in WMP.
- Sassanix, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2thnx best digg 2day
- loveme4iamjesus, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Can someone post a screen capture?
- zerz, on 10/12/2007, -5/+7err so much like the kubuntu cursor...
- mc1123, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2they work great, and I especially like the "busy" one, seeing as it's the only one really different.
- volfro, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2These look just like the "Human" set on most modern Linux distributions running Gnome or KDE. The pointer's proportions are exactly the same.
Except the new pointer and throbbers, they're just gussied up versions of the original Windows cursors. Still, it's about time they redesigned those bad boys. - ninxmz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Sweet. Thanks alot for submitting this link. I'm really liking the new cursor. Dugg.
- Jugalator, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Except for being antaliased.
- wolkengrau, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Now I have that new Office standard font and the new cursor...
Ummm, how much more does it take to make Vista from my XP? - PicklePower, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Linux in general, not just Ubuntu.
- sl4x0r, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2great, now i almost wish my connection were laggier so i could watch the cool hourglass replacement swoosh thing
- motang, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Yeah I am using it right now, it's pretty cool.
- Kuipo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I was wondering if anyone else had small black dots on the bottom of the busy animation. Mine gets black dots for about 3 frames or so.
- JQP123, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3It ain't English but the word "musepekere" does tend to conjur up some interesting imagery.
- crawfishsoul, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Is that a screengrab pasted into Photoshop, that you then screengrabbed again and pasted back into Photoshop? I'm not sure I can wrap my head around what you did there...
Edit: I think there's an additional capture I missed in that image. - beg513, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2sorry, I just have not had good experiences with windows in the past, and I really love my mac, the windows cursors are larger than I'm used to.
- ckirsch, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5No no wait, you've got it all wrong! They've rotated it 90 degrees! Phew, for a second there...
- ckirsch, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3I love the new busy cursor, very slick.
- briarrabbit, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1These are sweet! I used them with the Uxtheme.dll patch, and now it's getting fairly difficult to tell XP from Vista...
- dliu, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I agree. the I beam is too thick. The precision cursor as well.
- torano, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1This is great - thanks for the link!! They feel a bit more compact than the other cursor styles, which will take a bit getting used to.
- admdrew, on 10/12/2007, -9/+10That's fine. OSX 'stole' its underlying code from BSD.
