- Mjuboy, on 05/02/2008, -0/+3Thanks for that, but I wonder if it displays anything other than random colors.
- misterS, on 05/02/2008, -0/+1it does.
there are various pre-programmed presets, but also the possibility to "draw" on the display. there's a glass cube containing a touchscreen on the floor, where one can program one's own patterns.
- misterS, on 05/02/2008, -0/+1it does.

All those dirty hippies with their drug enhanced imaginations and busy little soldering irons...- je12u, on 05/02/2008, -0/+0That's actually cool. Too bad about the rest of your comment though...
- oxford, on 05/02/2008, -0/+0I've been one of those dirty hippies eight of the last ten years. Didn't make anything as cool as the link above though.

- je12u, on 05/02/2008, -0/+0When will super efficient lighting be available to general public is what I'd like to know. I already have CFL's, but LED is the way to go.
- oxford, on 05/02/2008, -0/+1I've played with the superbright LEDs. The problem that I see right now is the form factor is a little weird, the power requirements are so different from standard lighting and you have to be willing to drop a heat sink into anything that's going to put out a useful amount of light. None of it is insurmountable, but it's still a matter of a product that cannot be easily squeezed into the traditional lighbulb scenario (i know, i know, some products exist, but the pricing is still sorta awful on those items). It's like if someone came up with a super-efficient candle that could burn for a thousand hours before it went out. How many of us have houses that could realistically be lit entirely by candles without burning them down.
All that aside, the superbrights are a joy to work with... - bigtech64, on 05/02/2008, -0/+0They are, but they're not cheap -- try $20-$40 each! http://www.superbrightleds.com/edison_globe.html
