- sc0tt, on 10/12/2007, -6/+166It doesn't really look that different than the current one.
- Powder, on 10/12/2007, -5/+74It looks worse then the old one. The color on the top bars is to dark. It either needs to go back to the lighter shade of blue of bring in some other colors. Next time maybe the can just fix the speed of the servers.
- FarcicalFart, on 10/12/2007, -4/+67And the website is still slow as hell.
- mbiesz, on 10/12/2007, -1/+42The main differences that I see are rounded corners, slightly more aqua-ish colors, and Verdana instead of Helvetica. Our definition of "Web 2.0" has really deteriorated...
- Rapishorrid, on 10/12/2007, -2/+37Web 2.0? More like it takes about 2.0 minutes to load the page...
- Tordenflesk, on 10/12/2007, -7/+41Where the 2.0 at? I see no childish graphic anywhere.
- CBTF, on 10/12/2007, -4/+37Thats what I thought. In fact, the old layout is nicer (and loads faster.)
- Bob042, on 10/12/2007, -4/+22It's only Web 2.0 because it's Beta.
- logic, on 10/12/2007, -0/+15No they aren't.
- northerncomfort, on 10/12/2007, -1/+15Looks worse than before- at least it used to be clean, if not horribly slow. Now it's still horribly slow but looks like btjunkie.
Web 2.0? This is Web Three Years Ago. - Hamsterpotpies, on 10/12/2007, -2/+13There is a difference? Couldn't see much difference.
Only thing that mininova needs to fix is its dam load time. Get more server mininova or do what suprnova did. Let others mirror the site with a simple program! - ThunderIT, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11yeah, i agree with Powder, using the darker color looses the look of 'translucency' that the header bar had, doesn't look as good as it did before
and what is with EZTV turning their site green? it better only be for the holidays - piwy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10now they could start working on new servers and bigger pipes.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+12The term you are looking for is "tubes".
- Frankie4Fingers, on 10/12/2007, -2/+11Is this an advertisement, becase the site looks terrible and very non-professional or web 2.0 looking.
- championchap, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10Web 2.0 MEANS pastel colours.
I guess they just wanted to keep their old users happy, I can understand that.
Just a little surprising that this reached the front page with only a minor update. - crazybrit, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9STOP SAYING WEB 2.0! YOU'RE JUST ENCOURAGING ***** LIKE THIS! RAAARGGHGH!
- NobleArc, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Wow, it actually *does* look worse...
- CoolSilver, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7It's not broke. WHY FIX IT?!
Oh yea because your not a REAL website without rounded corners.
Just like the stupid Flash intros you used to see on every website back in 2001. - kmotiv1, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6How is that web 2.0? Just because someone updates their site...doesn't mean that it's web 2.0.
- shad0w, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5It had the search cloud before.
- crucibleau, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Damn I was hoping for some AJAX when I saw the title... maybe even when you click on a torrent, that the bottom half would refresh with that torrent, and all the tabs would load.
Rather than having a refresh every click.
That would have been a nice change to a site like that.
As it is - it's really no benefit from my point of view. - 1021, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6I don't know about everyone else, but I've found mininova to be a lot slower than other sites like btjunkie, pbay, etc. This seems to continue with this new version. I don't really sense any change except for tweaking the contrast/brightness wheel from the original design.
- spliffy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5are you kidding? a web 2.0 face lift?
what a bunch of baloney - stoppedcode12, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5that's exactly what I was expecting too! Hopefully, they'll do something similar in the future.
For me web 2.0 for mininova means....
live search (search as you type)
heavy use of ajax for fasting loading performance
dynamic front page content with live stats
and possibly something creative and unseen that deserves attention from Digg. - geminigeek, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5New Web 2.0 facelift? But but... where's the rounded corners, glossy icons and letterings, or gradients?? Hahahaha...
The new design isnt any better. - KyleMistry, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I think it actually looks worse. The blues that they chose just don't work as well as they should.
And it may just be me, but it seems a lot slower than their previous design, which I liked a lot more. - whalesalad, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Yeah old design was way better, easier on the eyes, and its STILL SLOW AS *****.
- dehlz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I prefer the old style, this isn't any kind of upgrade. I'm sticking to TorrentSpy and pirate bay as first resorts, mininova as the backup if all else fails.
- MartyMcFly713, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Those colors suck, I like the old one better.
- ChrisLowder, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4The main reason that i used mininova was that it had a nice clean no cluter design (once you adblock all the adverts).
Now it hurts to look at it.
Note: It has also been taged as BETA (very web 2.0), so hopefully it will improve over time. - peterbarbosa, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I like the RSS buttons :-)
- dandiemer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3speaking of.... the colors on the new mininova looks like an isohunt ripoff.
- Emilio8605, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I liked the old one better as well. Too much contrast between shades of blue.
- lefrat, on 10/12/2007, -6/+9I'll stick with the Pirate Bay, thank you.
- NeoRicen, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3That's a Web 2.0 facelift? Marked inaccurate.
- loftzon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Ugh, is this any different from the old Mininova, apart from being uglier and slower to load? I don't see any nice Web2.0 features eather, like auto complete and such. - I love mininova though, keep up the good work, torrent-wise, but i don't like the new page.
- HappyScrappy, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4wow, it highlights under my cursor. How wonderful.
skip. - Jarasmen, on 10/12/2007, -4/+6Arrrrrr!
- b.m.a.n, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3This is one of the main torrent sites I use and I have to say it's an update, but no web 2.0 update.
- Polymira, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5For those wondering why it's Web 2.0?
heh, search cloud =p - erikuma, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2It's so unprofessional and also the color combination is horrible, not to mention the layout. The navigation links and menus is somewhat confusing.
Not a real web 2.0 layouts and colors.
I bury this. Very inaccurate. - mntalkase, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3No rounded corners... Web 2.0? I think not.
- Caliente, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2dugg for linking straight to the website and not some jackasses blog.
- Craig1394, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2"mininova is a dump-site for torrents.. it's not a tracker.. so who gives a fuq how it looks?"
Agreed, but my experience is mininova is a dump site for SLOW AS ***** torrents or dead torrents. Seriously, are the camcorder-recorded movie bootlegs the only ***** things that actually might work? I also don't give a ***** how the site looks, I wouldn't care even if it was an old geocities page, if the torrents actually worked. - phoenixp3k, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2this just proves that the digg is invalid. Mininova is planning a small redesign not a web 2.0 mumbo jumbo make over.
- SierraAlpha, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2It's loading incredibly fast for me so I don't know what's going on with everybody else. However I do agree about the design, it looks the same for the most part.
- NINJ4, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1And another 2.0 to shuffle through the Frontpage style DHTML menus we all had on our crappy freewebs pages back in Highschool while we attemp to tell a difference..
- justgeorge, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1it's ugly. and doesn't look like web 2.0
