http://www.phrenopolis.com/perspective/atom/index.html - alexdemers, on 10/12/2007, -0/+79There's 119 pictures of 600px x 450px. If it was only one picture, it would be 71400px x 450px. That's a WIDE picture! =)
- hiPpymIck, on 10/12/2007, -2/+51longer

- dacheetah, on 10/12/2007, -3/+21Make one more "frame" to link the first with the last, then print the whole thing out and stick it to the a big cylinder.
- Domza, on 10/12/2007, -0/+16Stats:
- Contributing Artists: 75
- Worm Size: 5.70 Mb
- Worm Length: 119 images
- Length: 82.63 ft - theamazingkort, on 10/12/2007, -8/+24That's a huge bitch.
- xinul, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14longcat is still longer
- archlich, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14They should have added tic marks along the bottom denoting millions of miles.
- ldkronos, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13The widest single image file I know of is: http://www.tawbaware.com/maxlyons/gigapixel_strip.jpg
Its 40784 pixels wide, and is just a small strip of this gigapixel image: http://www.tawbaware.com/maxlyons/gigapixel.htm - DolphinGL, on 10/12/2007, -1/+14My longcat > your longcat
http://lol.bz/js/longcat/ - orientis, on 10/12/2007, -6/+17Originally many pictures, now coalesced into one long communal piece of art. Just as a thread becomes a tapestry. You douchebag. Quit raining on the parade.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -6/+16lol.
i was scrolling fast left right while some weird "eyes" caught my attention.
it was a 'peanut butter jelly time' compilation. - championchap, on 10/12/2007, -4/+14Ohh, that reminds me.. a forum i used to visit was getting ready to do one of these some time ago.. but i left before we ever really got started.
You know, deviantArt would be the place to make one of these.. just think of the size you could get! And think of the quality!
A lot of the stuff in this one i recognised from tutorials (like that planet early on) and other stuff was just a bit.. *****.
It had its moments, but the horribly emo picture at the start really didn't put me in a good mood for the rest of it. - dnissley, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10Copyright Infringement? No.
Fair Use? Yes. - groverblue, on 10/12/2007, -3/+10That would make a great wallpaper border.
- habitue, on 10/12/2007, -7/+14Seriously, this is a dupe, a super dupe, it's been on Digg many times. People hate when commenters point out that something is a dupe, but it's obvious that the Digg programmers don't want dupes to be submitted, as evidenced by all of the countermeasures they have in place to prevent it when you submit a story. Sites like these are not going away, you don't have to worry about missing it, because it's not an event, it's a site. You will eventually see it if you hang around the internet long enough. The reasoning that "You may have seen it but it's new to a bunch of people" is completely bogus. What if dupes were allowed and every internet meme was constantly coming up on the front page? Sure it's new to somebody every time, but that's no reason to keep having it show up. If you're interested in certain types of sites like this, you can use Digg's search feature to find popular links in the category of your choosing. The front page should be fresh stuff.
- eoncire, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6this would make a wild rasterbation....could go half way around my house.....hmm

//enoe - MutexDeadlocked, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8Sure, technically it is a set of pictures, not one. It is cool all the same though. Let's not be pedantic, shall we?
- LordLucless, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8You also notice that all the pictures are selected/modified so that they join together relatively seamlessly? Yeah, that's the point of this exercise.
- pixelbender, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Mine's longer.
- soupnrc, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5No one likes you.
- FRAGaLOT, on 10/12/2007, -3/+8Stop arguing about semantics you douchebag, you don't have anything to prove here. STFU!
It's IS single continuing art where one artist plays off from the previous art at the left. It's very nice and clever. So who cares if it's not a single file? It would take FOREVER to load up if it was a single file, and you'd probably bitch about that anyway. Do your self a favor and take your anti-depressant pills, and stop being an ***** for once in you life. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -11/+16Well I never seen it before.
But I'm going to have to agree with you. This story should not have been submitted because it has already been submitted before. This is a duplicate and should be buried as "Duplicate Story".
Although I'm happy that I saw this, duplicating stories isn't how Digg works and I buried the story to keep Digg the way it's supposed to work. - dbr_onix, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I don't think the point behind the submitted project is to make "the longest image ever!" (I could do that in about 2 seconds in any image editor Ctrl+N, put in a long number as the width, save and upload it..) -
Maybe, just maybe is it more about the content of the images..?
- Ben - tomi, on 10/12/2007, -6/+10ricsad - Oh crap, I thought you were being sarcastic, so I dugg your post. I take that back now.
I do recall that we're supposed to digg the content we like, right? And if enough people digg the content, it gets to the front page, right? So here's a suggestion for you: Start watching the Upcoming Stories page and mark stories as dupes BEFORE they get to the front page, otherwise shut up, as enough people like it for a dupe. The dupe police need to start trolling the Upcoming Stories page, not the front page.
I haven't seen this before, btw. - Pottersquash, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4When will "longest" not mean a bunch of small things next to each other...... a thousand seperate pics touching does not make 1 long pic
Are does 5 people sitting on top of each other's shoulders make them the tallest person ever? - knuvue, on 12/05/2007, -0/+4This is really awesome. This is one of my personal favorites, definitely check it out if you liked the one in the story. http://cubadust.com/versus/index.htm
- hsbsitez, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Buried as Duplicate story.
- TekeeTakShak, on 10/12/2007, -7/+11Why is this "good?"
It's just a long picture of random crap people smacked together. It's not even coherent. - barryiggins, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I kind of agree with the original poster, but not in terms of it being technically one image, rather about the art itself. I think its a cool idea, but I think it would have been even cooler if everyone made more of an effort to relate their contribution to the previous one--either really melding into the previous content or somehow relating to it conceptually. A lot of them seem to just fade into the other in a kind of half-assed way, not really relating.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Some are good, but a lot of the images are just a bunch of stolen pictures put together to form some art.
- orientis, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I agree.. What is with the Max Payne 2 bit? Is that art or just something someone cobbled together?
I like Tempeste's work best. - strangewill, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Sorry but...
IMHO: The longest string of copyrighted images ever. ;) I'm more impressed by the huge images floating around on the web that are drawn, not mostly copied/pasted. - wily6, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I wish I had enough monitors to make this my wallpaper.
- BenFaist, on 10/12/2007, -12/+15This isn't even one picture. It would be one thing if they were somehow cleverly merged together, but they don't even try to. If I put ever strange picture I could find, I would also have a really long picture too...
- lbtori, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3This is really nicely done!
There are several other collaborative art examples that I've come across.
-http://www.sito.org/synergy/
There are others as well but I can't find them right now.. - ipodman715, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3[Digg down + BAN!]
- doktorzee, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Incredible! This is some fantastic art, I love the individual parts and how they were masterfully stiched together. This person is a genius.
- darkcaps, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2its the same gun
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3i remember that day vividly... it was a tuesday.
I remember signing up to put a graphic on this page... but they never accepted me. I was angry, then I forgot about it, untill now.
thanks - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Wow that is awesome! This is more like what I was expecting to see.
- PATSCRU, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2long cat FTW
http://www.encyclopediadramatica.com/index.php/Longcat - Skrilla360, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3yup, buried as innacurate
- miker2049, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Awesome... near the middle there is a picture of Family Guy's Peter and a couple of Modest Mouse references... "Lets all have another Orange Julius..."
By the artist Hinto. - cod999, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1This pic doesn't do anything for me.
