If you look at the bottom of the image the window looks like it's facing left but as your eyes scan towards the top of the image the window is facing the right. When your eyes get to where the shudders are open you can tell the window is facing the right because the shudders cannot be turned inwards because they would be clipping through the top of the window.

If I am looking at the window face on, I would say it is on my right side (my right, the house's left- if it's the front of the house I am looking at). The shutters can't turn inwards because then the overlaps would be wrong.
