ndesign, you are a brave one to post this here. The digger trolls are merciless and cruel. Check back here in an hour and you'll see what I mean. As you can see, it's already begun...
"not only shameless self-promotion, but check out how the site masks the google ads and makes them seem just like regular navigation links..."
If the website is offering Photoshop tutorials, then why not try that website out too? Granted its quite confusing for the user, but its still something that would probably interest an Illustrator user. When did clicking ads to actually visit that particular website become so bad?
Stop whining about self promotion and all that crap, just because you guys can't be arsed to go out and help some people. This is an excellent site, keep up the good work and ignore the trolls. Super design you got going there.
Really good tutorials. Dugg, Deli.ico.us'ed and bookmarked.
To everyone who says "shameless self promotion": This is a very well-done site with great tutorials on a piece of software that's difficult to master. It's helpful. Get off his back.
Yes, he insidiously "masked" his googads by making them the same color as the page...Get your torches people. Hes a MONSTER!
...
I dugg it, i clicked on his ads, and I forwarded the link to a coworker who needs to get up to speed with illustrator...o, and I deemed it rack worthy with a bookmark.
[check out how the site masks the google ads and makes them seem just like regular navigation links...]
you mean the links that are at the bottom of the page that say "Ads by Google" next to them? sheesh, what a hater.
Thank you for the comments. Regard the self-promote issue, I don't think it is a shame because at least I'm not trying to hide it by signing up with different account name. Back then when I was learning Illustrator I couldn't find any good tutorial so now I thought it would be great to share here. Plus the search results on Google on "Illustrator tutorials" are so old and out-dated.
ndesign:
what a great site. learn'd me a thing or two! and don't mind all of the misdirected hostility, you have to take digg users with a giant grain of salt.
I think it actually takes more time to complain about "OLD NEWS" or "SELF PROMOTION" then it does to just move on.....you stupid little 13 years old nerds.....god shut the ***** up!.....oh wait, I just took up more time to complain about complaining......man........ohh well
As someone who has used Illustrator and learned first hand how frustrating it can be for someone inexperience with the program I think this is a wonderful tutorial site. It gives people ideas to practice with so that they can become familiar with the program and learn what it is capable of doing. Once that happens the person can go off and explore on their own. I wish I had found this site when I was in my Digital Imaging class. Thanks and Digg!! : )
Tutorials always seem nice at first sight but after going through it and seeing how somehow your result isn't as well as it should then they are pretty useless. But still a good thing.
