- quomen, on 10/12/2007, -4/+71"Sorry.... site suspended... come back later :-("
I will! - ShawnC, on 10/12/2007, -4/+37Site Suspended...try again later
- biocandy, on 10/12/2007, -2/+30Hey... i'm the owner of this site and there has been an explosive traffic on the site. I launched monday!
I working on a better hosting/server solution and will be up and running in about 7 days. - maxime007, on 10/12/2007, -1/+23It works like a charm. I found the invisible icon I was looking for.
- fatdog789, on 10/12/2007, -2/+21Except the comma is only a standardized separated in English-based cultures. Other languages and cultures use spaces, and yes, a few even use periods, and designate fractional parts by a space before or after the period.
- 311chaos, on 10/12/2007, -0/+15Ya I saw that one. To bad it isn't animated.
- bobothn, on 10/12/2007, -7/+22@fatdog789
True but this site is written in English. they should use a comma. it would be like a site that is in English but 2 sentences written in German it just confuses your target audience. if this was a non English site it would be ok. as is though it looks like it is a person that English is not their first language making a error when translating which makes what fkr3 said right. maybe a little rude but right - nyheat, on 10/17/2007, -0/+10dcpar, IE breaks valid code so it's sometimes harder for web developers to fix the code than for users to switch to Firefox :)
- stevenvh, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11Ok, looks like we're all gonna come back later. Let's get organized. I'm Thursday at 7:30 CET.

This site's a winner!
Seriously, it looks quite useful but they've got to get Amazon S3 or something... - Scyth3, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8Well, at least he was smart enough to realize that the site couldn't handle it and it isn't giving a busted service reply instead ;)

It would be nice if it had additional search filters:
* license (i.e. GNU, LGPL, etc)
Search needs improving - a search for "car" returns "cards" near the top:
http://www.dreamplay.dk/icon/search.php?searchTerm=car
Seems to have a lot of "Everaldo's" icons - his site isn't working properly - broken links:
http://www.everaldo.com/
Can anybody verify that his icons are really LGPL? - omarciddo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Considering American standards of weights, measures, and such go against most of the entire world, I'd say we're better off matching the world than trying to make the whole world match us.
- korosive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Yeah, bookmarked for later though. Nice find!
- bobothn, on 10/12/2007, -7/+13@Cl1mh4224rd
in the future could you please refrain from calling me a bigot. I understand in non English speaking countries they use a dot instead of a comma what i was trying to say was his site is in English and as such it would be helpful for him to put the numbers in a way that it is easy for English people trying to read it. - Cl1mh4224rd, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Decimal_separator#Examples_of_use
- lkmbrd, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5@naughtyboy
It does say it's in beta. ;) - jydesign, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4If this works as promised (assuming it comes out of suspension mode), it will be one of those, 'oh yeah - of course' ideas that was just begging to be done properly. It will also be yet another intellectual property headache site. Hey iconfactory should strike while this site's down ;-P
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3No, you're mixing up "webdesigner" and "graphic designer"; 2 different operations. This website would prove useful for those of us who need nice looking icons on the fly.
- Linkage155, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Or made outside of the US.
- chris9902, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3needs directory listings. But apart from that it looks like a good idea.
- fajita, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4What the fsck!
I had hoped to try this out.
I mean, they got that thing hosted on some shared hosting somewhere? - superjustin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Works like a charm and it's not being messed up by digg =) I've used it on one of my applications already.
- teamcoltra, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Its now back up you guys!
- factotum218, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I was thinking along those lines. Usually if Im stumped for an icon, I go to kde-look or gnome-look and use something from one of the gpl'ed icon theme packs.
- Cheeseness, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4@Bamborzled
It's a really positive thing to have unique cultures that celebrate their differences, but when it comes to communicating information, standards are important. Otherwise there's no way to guarantee that anybody is going understand what it is you're trying to say. - stockjones, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Digg effect or crappy host you decide.
- kenok, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Look for inspiration you mean. The usual conventions used, style and concepts...
- ranishchirayil, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1cool stuff:)
- Moduliz0r, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1This is actually really cool. This would be great for software and web designers (but I guess thats what it is designed for... :P)
- bbardlbradd, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Yeah, checked it out immediately when this hit front page, didn't work, waited till now... It's pretty sweet... I wish there was a way to browse though. I'm off to check out http://www.freeiconsweb.com!
- stevenvh, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Hey, that's my line!! :-)
- artistsvalley, on 04/30/2008, -0/+1http://www.artistsvalley.com/search.html (ignore the comma) :)
- arcticfox2, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1http://www.dhtmlsite.com/icons.php has a listing of a few great icon sets too
- artistsvalley, on 04/30/2008, -0/+1Search for Quality Professional Icons in http://www.artistsvalley.com/search.html, 4699 icons listed.
- kenyabob, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3I second that. Designers shouldn't be searching for icons, they should be making them. Being able to find an icon and grab it for your own use does not make anyone a "webdesigner," and while I will admit there may be legitimate reasons for this search, I have a hard time seeing it used in such a way.
- popzic, on 12/04/2008, -0/+1We use iconfinder http://www.iconfinder.net/ and
iconarchive http://www.iconarchive.com/ for our clients at http://www.adworks.ro/ - ishmal, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2If the majority of the icons are his own, and licensing those are his business, then the site is really not a search engine, but an ecommerce toy. That makes this post spam.
- jackyyll, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Don't those two go together..?
- biocandy, on 03/30/2009, -0/+1Iconfinder has been redesigned.
- webdesignkumar, on 09/11/2008, -0/+1hello
webdesign - dirceuctba, on 02/03/2008, -0/+0http://fasticon.com/freeware/

There are more free icons at Iconshock's community site: http://www.iconshock.com/vista-icons.php?prd=52779 - suckahell, on 12/27/2008, -0/+0Its kind of okay this search engine...buggy though...
