- yomamaisfat, on 03/10/2009, -3/+186Digg is for life homes, no way out. So keep digging if you know what's good for you.
- Ja50n, on 03/10/2009, -1/+133trying to take something off the internet is like taking pee out of the pool...

- cowsgonemadd3, on 03/10/2009, -0/+54Just post lots of spam.
- inactive, on 03/10/2009, -0/+45break the tos and post some kick ass porn.
- WhoLikesNuts, on 03/10/2009, -3/+35Kevin Rose will hunt you down
- fluidfoundation, on 03/10/2009, -2/+34I'd like to see a follow up on this story. The guy says that the agent from Classmates.com could cancel any account... but try to log in again... I bet its still active. It's the herpes of social sites.
- realmadrid2727, on 03/10/2009, -0/+31Name the album "Family Photos" and it should speed up the process even moreso!
- airwalkery2k, on 03/10/2009, -1/+28I think an Eletromagnetic Pulse set off near the targeted server farm should do the trick.
- lAmoebal, on 03/10/2009, -1/+27The sign for the pool at the campgrounds where my grandparents used to stay said:
'Welcome to the ool. Notice there is no P in it, please keep it that way.'
Your comment reminded me of the sign
/I suck. - larsonc, on 03/10/2009, -0/+24I imagine you'd run into a few foreign key violations with that query.
- suprxtragrav, on 03/10/2009, -10/+31This is what the government should be working on. In this day and age, we really should have legislation which makes it possible to easily delete any online account (and the personal info that is bounded to it).
Oh but wait the gays might marry. Can't divert energy away from that! (/s) - th3heretic, on 03/10/2009, -2/+22Are you sure you want to delete 249,834,754,347,985,274,385,923,794,578,923,467,596,293,549,862,397,856,498,236,527 submissions?
- alpha88, on 03/10/2009, -0/+20Yeah but you get bonus points. Totally worth it.
- IHaveIssues, on 03/10/2009, -0/+17All that gets you is banned from that site while they retain all your personal info and the porn that is associated to your IP along with date and time.
- rakeshishere, on 03/10/2009, -2/+18I just accidentally deleted the internet
- inactive, on 03/10/2009, -0/+16Don't do this. You'd orphan so many submissions. Think of the children!
- inactive, on 03/10/2009, -1/+16Post here: http://digg.com/politics/Delete_My_Digg_Account
- tiology, on 03/10/2009, -0/+12The poster still has an account, and is still somewhat active. There is no quitting digg.
- morcheeba, on 03/10/2009, -0/+12I think your account is still active, but only you can see the posts you write. I see your post as all asterisks: * ******* * **** *** ** ****** ******* ****** * ****, **** **** ** *** **** *******... *** ** *****. * *** ***** *** **. ***?
- Handonam, on 03/10/2009, -3/+13are you also going to raise your cholesterol so you can lower it?
- sKiLLa182, on 03/10/2009, -2/+12No, I actually enjoy keeping in touch with old friends and being able to organize social events easily. Don't understand how it's liberating, unless you're someone who can only deal with person-to-person contact.
Whatever, I guess that's you're thing. I'll be over here embracing useful technology with the majority of society. - MazdaEric, on 03/10/2009, -0/+10I hate how more and more soc media sites are getting rid of the cancel option - only letting you deactivate your profile.
- drgmdp, on 03/10/2009, -0/+10oh shi
- Gravey9, on 03/10/2009, -3/+12I would suggest getting rid of all of your online social networking accounts it's quite liberating.
- Echosphere, on 03/10/2009, -1/+10"Permanently Delete Account
Your account has been deactivated from the site and will be permanently deleted within 14 days. If you log into your account within the next 14 days, your account will be reactivated and you will have the option to cancel your request."
***** YOU FACEBOOK. - multiformat, on 03/10/2009, -1/+10I've found posting a pic of an anonymous wang titled as my own gets me kicked off most all social networking sites.
- psykiv, on 03/10/2009, -0/+8Remote backups?
- alpha88, on 03/10/2009, -0/+8That's not the sign for the pool, it's the sign for the ool, and they said to leave it that way. Gosh.
- sKiLLa182, on 03/10/2009, -1/+9Who the ***** knows. These people are effing afraid of anyone having the slightest bit of their information. How it would ever affect their lives in the slightest possible way, I have no idea.
For Amazon, purchase history = market trends. "People who bought this, also bought....." - inactive, on 03/10/2009, -0/+7Can i delete my account with the government?
- timusca, on 03/10/2009, -4/+11Wow, that makes for great discussion... get rid of anyone who disagrees with you.
- satanatnmtedu, on 03/10/2009, -1/+8It applies to specific sites NOT any. Buried as inaccurate due to title.
- nedzeve, on 03/10/2009, -0/+7Good point. I guess I'll just have to destroy the internet in that case.
- 4degrees, on 03/10/2009, -0/+7change your account's email address to the address of their support or some address inside the company, and sign up for all their spam. They will notice all the spam from themselves and promptly get rid of the account.
- Barackalypse, on 03/10/2009, -5/+11Very misleading headline, this tells you how to cancel a couple dozen of the most popular Internet sites, but you're on your own for all the rest. Also, they don't tell you what account information the company keeps. I'd delete my Amazon account if I knew it would purge my purchase history, but I strongly suspect it doesn't.
- wild, on 03/10/2009, -0/+6Fun with word omission:
"break the tos and post some ass porn." - Fhwqhgads, on 03/10/2009, -0/+6All you have to do is upload porn. That'll shut your account off real quick.
- RudeTurnip, on 03/10/2009, -1/+6Delete your Digg account? Haha, well, that's just crazy talk!
- twertyto, on 03/10/2009, -1/+6That's not any different than most of the posts I see in political stories. It won't get you banned.
- wild, on 03/10/2009, -0/+5It is this simple. I live in Chicago. At different points in my life, I have lived in Cincinnati, Cleveland, and Dallas. I have good friends from all of these locations.
Facebook allows me to keep track of friends and what they are up to. When I visit these cities, I can meet up with them and already be up to speed on their lives. In fact, technology is so great, Xbox Live allows me to talk to some of these friends and share experiences while 100s of miles apart. And when I see them in person, it feels like I haven't missed anything.
Also, I do a lot of freelance work. Linked In and Facebook allow me to keep up with contacts and find more jobs.
Social networking rocks. - AbsurdParadox, on 03/10/2009, -1/+6Whats the problem with Amazon keeping your purchase history?
- rowbot, on 03/10/2009, -0/+5there's a Visine for that
- sKiLLa182, on 03/10/2009, -2/+7LOL, dugg!!!!! oh man it's so cool to hate the facebook!!!
- badenglishihave, on 03/10/2009, -2/+7Well seeing as the query was to remove MrBabyMan from 'DiggUsers' and not 'DiggSubmissions' I'd say that sort of message would not appear.
- sKiLLa182, on 03/10/2009, -2/+7I dugg you up because I feel the same way. Anytime there's any article on deleting accounts or anything about social networks, you get all these damn posts about how people are deleting their facebook accounts like they want some sort of digital pat on the back.
Nobody cares that you hate facebook. The fact is that the majority of people enjoy and use these social networking sites for the obvious benefits they bring. I like Twitter and I like facebook. They're fun and useful. I don't think you're cool for deleting it, I think you're either a hippie, paranoid, or just plain afraid to embrace new technology. - BrendanSheehan, on 03/10/2009, -0/+5You added a bracket on the end of that link, so it won't work.
This is the correct link: http://www.facebook.com/help/contact.php?show_form ...
And yes, you do have to reactivate, as you have to login to do it; which auto-reactivates your account. Try the captchas; took me about 11 attempts to get it to work. Convinced they tried to trick my a load of times. Though, even worse is LinkedIn. I hope someone sues LinkedIn for their practices in this area. -
