u? - hitmikey, on 10/12/2007, -3/+20http://duggmirror.com/design/How_Web_2_0_Logos_are_drawn_Photoshop/
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+17That tutorial really doesn't explain in the slightest how to make those logos. Someone with any knowledge of Photoshop could do it on their own without just clicking and dragging pre-made styles.
- geoken, on 10/12/2007, -1/+15Yeah, that was a horrible tutorial. Anyone can draw a circle and write text. The only remotely challenging thing is playing with the gradients, and he doesn't show you how to do that, he just instructs you to download some pre-made styles and drag them on to the objects.
- alceria, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12I'm so bloody sick of everything being labeled Web 2.0. "Make your web 2.0 logo, see the latest Web 2.0 fonts". Give me a break. It's a goddamn logo. People need to get over themselves.
See, now I'm getting my Web 2.0 panties in a twist.
Plus the page is already dead. - inphiniti, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9So this "teaches" the reader by having him/her drag a specific style onto the corresponding logo. This is more like a "How to use Styles in Photoshop" tutorial, but with four sentences on the bottom describing what a web 2.0 logo looks like.
- Runik, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9Don't we see these "tutorials" for web 2.0 logos on digg's main page every few weeks
- svenjick, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8More information on primates can be found at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ape
(why did I even bother reading this stupid article! I should have known better, the title contained "web 2.0"...) - jonathono2000, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6All of those things can be accomplished in Illustrator or any other vector illustration program and with more control.
On top of that you get added bonus of scalability. - camkerr, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5"Ever wonder how these guys draw their Web 2.0 Logos?"
Yes, infact I did.....a year ago. However, since we've had about a billion photoshop how-to stories since then, I could really care less if you have a new way to teach us how to do a reflection and highlight bevel. Buried as duplicate. - polyGone, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Great Web 2.0 point.....
- geoken, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4How is including a photoshop style more useful than actually teaching someone how to make those styles. The styles themeselves are just simple gradients.
- roywaits, on 02/02/2008, -0/+4logos should be vector... not everything is for the web.
- polyGone, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Should we really be teaching people to use the same generic logo process used on just about every 'web 2.0' site?
- GopherChucks, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4So sick of people bitching about this. I find your incessant complaining about "Web2.0" content to be a lot more irritating than the article/movement itself. Just because people are using diagonal lines and gradients with Ajax doesn't immediately mean the site isn't any good.
Do you people *really* find this type of design to be that offensive? Digg me down if you disagree, but I've had enough of it. - sannm, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3anyone who diggs this is clearly "following the crowd" of diggs, this teaches absolutely nothing of value and clearly has a few hundred fake diggs from usersubmitter.com. What a pile a steamy crap...blocked submitter now
- Huevoos, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3"playing with Gradiants, Strokes"
I think Gradiants are for Web 3.0 Gradients is what "web 2.0" people use now - Superpoo, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5fake diggs anyone?
- j138abstract, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Hey thank s for the free styles. But web 2.0 is so last year. Today its all about web 5.9 and ajaxtphtlmjscssxml
- CzescToJa, on 10/12/2007, -4/+6Is anyone else tired of this web 2.0 *****?
- Chewie67, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5Wow! What a crap-tastic "tutorial"
And it's hosted on a TRS-80 to boot. Nice! - Matrixsta, on 10/12/2007, -1/+31. Make web 2.0 logo
2. Create landing page
3. profit! - SwellGuy007, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Well, that's just silly. Apparently I've been doing web 2.0 logos since 1997. Cool.
So the tutorial is basically to download someone else's work, apply it to your own crappy text boxes and call it web 2.0.
Dugg down on both my accounts for being as lame as web 2.0 itself. - cresquin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2worst tutorial ever.
Make your logos in illustrator. Then you can use it for printed materials and have it available for use at any size in the digital world as well... - Razster, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Doesn't seem to like CS2 at all :/
- Phinster, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Reminds me of this: http://www.wired.com/news/technology/internet/0,72832-0.html
- BlackOp, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Tacky effect that looked outdated over a year ago. And everyone copies it ffs.. Come up with something original. Please.
- Sommerlost, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Probably more press than they are ever gonna see again. Dug down.

for proper logo's - wolver1ne, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Anyone who thinks Web 2.0 has some sort of graphic style standards is a retard and should not use teh internets.
- protogenes, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Nothing spellings the end of a style more than when there are lessons for it for the masses.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Yawn - Web 2.0 does not mean glossy, bubbly frikken logo's and icons.
"Wow! I just made a shiney logo for my website. It's Web 2.0! OMG!" - bruceheavin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Who ever said there is a style guide for web 2.0 to create logos? A style to Web 2.0 is pure horsecrap! Good design is good design regardless of what others are doing. Logos & icons are best when they represent and stay true to their subjects / brands that they try to represent. Good logos are not following the ideals of another to fit all into an idealized box.
O'Reilly trademarked Web 2.0 as to attempt to own the concept of what is going on with the internet despite their doings and to attach a label that they can call their own to market for events. If anyone has a slim chance of creating a style for web 2.0 it is O'Reilly. Frankly this Web 2.0 is ridiclious and more like bubble 2.0 than anything. Althought these are my beliefs, I am really having a fun time watching others clammor over this web 2.0 thing without a clue of what the hell they are doing. How about a good working business model before creating mash-ups for hype? - Gunbard, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Not shiny enough and needs that stupid BETA tag on it.
- naisanza, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1this is for noobs
- ducdeeze, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I appreciated the styles, just as a something to work from. I'll probably make my own later.
This also IS NOT a tutorial. Just a chance to get some free style files for PS. - heavylift, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Great, just in time to be out of date for Web3.0. Reminds me of emo bands in 2005.
- Cingular8125, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0The file won't load into Photoshop CS either, it gives an error about versions something blah blah blah...
- markus941, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Yes, but this one actually includes a photoshop styles file you can download, which is more useful than just a tutorial. I just wish somebody would mirror that as well (that server is getting hammerred right now).
- cycledesign, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3I don't know why people can't grasp the simple concept that you use Photoshop for PHOTOS and Illustrator to ILLUSTRATE.
- mrRB, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1You might want to tell that to the thousands who draw in Photoshop and make logos in Illustrator.
I'm just saying. - thelulz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Any sources for how to draw a X-over-Y Crossover PLatform logo?
- pelsen, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0http://www.hongkiat.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/web20.asl this file works
- missionren, on 06/05/2008, -0/+0this is very simple, but i have noticed that the art of doing a good logo is to keep it simple. very well done tutorial on logos and how to draw http://www.thegluckmethod.com/howtodraw/news/index ...
- jobo5432, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1How does this make the tech homepage? Why must people continually rehash existing articles?? How did the poster miss this in the list of "We think your article might be a duplicate..." page?

Not only is the post above MUCH better than this one...it's also original. Buried...no two ways to put it. Buried. - greymarketbrain, on 10/12/2007, -5/+4please not another web 2.0 glossy shadow logo. Overused, horrid graphics.
go away please. - ben51959, on 10/12/2007, -5/+4I agree... who uses Photoshop for a logo?
- 911review, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0"http://www.wired.com/news/technology/internet/0,72832-0.html

buried."
neat little story about digg.
anyway, ive created a TON of stuff without this plugin.
all you have to do is add some text to a window,
right click on the layer, hit blending options, and use stuff like bevel and stroke.
i did an example in about 3 mins here...
