I'll digg you up because:
a) You have your own opinion and a valid reason for it
b) You expressed it without sounding unreasonable
While I disagree, the fact people will you digg you down for your own opinion is quite sad... - theg58, on 10/12/2007, -16/+77digg for the saints

Ooooh I beg to differ!!

This is anything but free though. Printer ink costs more per ml than expensive Champagne. - rlg420, on 10/12/2007, -3/+50Just FYI. I found out about rasterbator about a year ago and thought it would be cool. I printed out the page, luckily on a laser so it was fairly quick. After that? It literally took me 4 HOURS to trim the pages and place them on the wall. Granted it was about 60 pages but seriously. Don't let the "5-10 minutes (not including printing and putting on the wall)" fool you. This is very time consuming.
- ThinkBox, on 10/12/2007, -2/+47If you want the best quallity outcome, always use the proper materials when you rasterbate.
- TheCount, on 10/12/2007, -0/+40Yeah, I don't know where they got "free" from.
Last I checked, Ink still cost 1000 times more than oil per barrel, and decent paper is just as expensive.
Printing at school or work is the only way this is free. - sarahpalmer, on 10/12/2007, -2/+37I fail to understand what this guy's "instructions" really add that you can't figure out by simply going to the rasterbator website.
- gib0r, on 10/12/2007, -4/+38the land of double posts!
- dynatos, on 10/12/2007, -5/+39Your mom may be pissed, but you have earned the respect of many diggers!
Great creation! - themouth, on 10/12/2007, -2/+35Had an 80's party a while ago, ended up keeping this cause it's so awesome, Long live ferris bueller: (don't ask what's going on in the foreground)
http://wyattmcguire.com/pictures/photo_a_day/01-15.jpg - ThinkBox, on 10/12/2007, -29/+57Dugg for Boondock Saints.
"And Shepherds we shall be
For thee, my Lord, for thee.
Power hath descended forth from Thy hand
Our feet may swiftly carry out Thy commands.
So we shall flow a river forth to Thee
And teeming with souls shall it ever be.
In Nomeni Patri Et Fili Spiritus Sancti." - Branyers, on 10/12/2007, -86/+113I guess I'm the only one who thinks Boondock Saints is quite possibly one of the worst films ever made - a complete Guy Ritchie ripoff and a tragedy that it actually gets compared to his (and Tarantino's) work.
Here, I'll do it for you already...
-200 digs - rasterbator, on 10/12/2007, -3/+29Dugg, but I still don't like the fact that these guys are using my name.
- dougm68, on 10/12/2007, -1/+24Thank goodness for duplicate stories for those of us with a life that can't comb the freakin news, blogs, and digg boards every minute of the day.
dugg. - greatromance, on 10/12/2007, -0/+19Ahhh good old Rasterbator. I remember last year at my old apartment I had a big 5ftx5ft firefox logo. Lost it in the move, but it's probably better that way. Big posters of firefox doesn't work too well with the ladies.
- DoctorCal, on 10/12/2007, -2/+21I'm thinking of so may ways to use this unconventionally
- scramble the tiles in the grid on your wall
- leave gaps in your mounting (think missing teeth)
- leave gaps, and hang the missing tiles on an adjacent wall
- print several versions of the same image ($$$) with different contrast, blur effects, what have you, and intermix the tiles you hang from different versions of the image
- hang with each of the tiles in their proper location in the grid, but improperly oriented - macbookpromat, on 10/12/2007, -1/+19He looks like he's about to say *****!
- ij00mini, on 10/12/2007, -0/+16@thinkbox
I think I've been on the internet too long, because someone having a picture ready just for that occasion isn't even surprising to me anymore. - CorruptRay, on 10/12/2007, -0/+16did this a couple months ago:
http://homokaasu.org/rasterbator/gallery/i/9284.jpg - mmazing, on 10/12/2007, -2/+16Yeah, I did this a few years back and made a giant futurama poster, it was around 112 pages I believe.
Took a VERY long time to trim and tape everything together, but turned out well, lucky for me, I could print at my University for free :D
If you do try this, I recommend doing everything in rows/columns, and then taping those together at the end to form the entire thing, it lets you get everything done on a small coffee table. - slickrate, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13this is pretty old but it got me thinking digg should have an "cool applications" section dedicated to free software we all promote and suggest aside from the software news section which is more for news related stories
- michaelb1, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12Why not? Oh, thats right. It sounds like masterbater and that would be wrong.
Just try it. You can confess at church afterward. - randifier, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12hmm... I'm not sure if those links I posted work. Sorry I'm new at this. Maybe these will work.

My roommate and I did this a year ago in our dorm room. It was something like 240 pieces of paper and took us 3 days to print, trim the paper, and hang on the ceiling. Everybody absolutely loved it, even our RA, but it was a fire hazard and we had to take it down the next day. Surprisingly enough, it only used about a quarter of the color cartridge. - Kypt, on 10/12/2007, -4/+14The big step here was the fact that not everyone knew such thing as Rasterbater existed...
- CorruptRay, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10got it printed at the university's copy center for less than $10
...$10 for (3) ~2'x3' color posters of something i really like... totally worth it - nemrel, on 10/12/2007, -3/+12@ zybch
Then how does that equal FREE? When Diggers see FREE on an article it better be damned well be absolutely 100% FREE! - gforce42, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9Rasterbator is a pretty cool app. Be prepared though, it takes a bit of time.
- DisposableRob, on 10/12/2007, -3/+12"I guess I'm the only one who thinks Boondock Saints is quite possibly one of the worst films ever made - a complete Guy Ritchie ripoff "
I'd call it a Tarantino rip-off (who rips off Asian cinema and 70s expoiltaion films) and like a copy machine, ripping-off a rip-off becomes a paler imitation each time it is done. But watch "Overnight", the "making-of" film and you'll see this thing was in the making long before anyone had heard of Guy Ritchie. - MalTheObscure, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8I made one of these a year ago. It looks really cheap if you just hang the paper up after it's printed. For a little bit of cash you can buy some foamboard and some adhesive spray at a craft store and mount each piece. You get a pretty cool effect if you leave about half an inch between each section. Even if you decide not to mount it, at least use the rasterbator to crop the photo you're using. The example in the link is driving me crazy with that border.
- kevnaca, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10I want it covering an entire wall. Someone will do it just to one up you.

- teamgwho, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7when chuck norris uses rasterbator and runs out of ink or paper, he simply makes water into ink and loaves into paper.
