- bitt3n, on 10/12/2007, -11/+117NEWS REPORT: Having subpoenaed Googles user records, the FBI has learned the identity of the notorious Beach Ball Murderer by tracing the evidence back to his homepage theme. Details at 11.
- leodavinci, on 10/12/2007, -4/+106Pretty cool. I set mine to beach, and then it asked me for my zip code so it could dynamically change the theme to what my time was. So, right now the sun is rising : )
- eliburford, on 10/12/2007, -3/+92Haha, that's pretty cool. I'm using the Bus Stop one, looks pretty cool.
I would like to see some more, simpler and cleaner themes though. - dadrew1, on 10/12/2007, -1/+73BTW, thank you submitter for linking directly to google and not some random blog about it :-)
- speede06, on 10/12/2007, -0/+60This is way more fun than it should be.
- goffy59, on 10/12/2007, -4/+55I hate people like you.
- tolkan, on 10/12/2007, -3/+47TeaHouse FTW ! That fox kicks ass.
- Vimo, on 10/12/2007, -4/+42Now thats what i've been waiting for. Now please google, let users create the themes themselves. Yet another great move from google!
- r3zonance, on 10/12/2007, -0/+38They all do.
- dadrew1, on 10/12/2007, -4/+38@Unixer
Oh my dear God, I just put in that I live in New York when I actually live in GA... They for sure know more about me now!
Come on, just enjoy something!!! This is pretty sweet, and been a long time coming :-) - rAid135, on 10/12/2007, -2/+36wow i'm loving these themes, I visit my google homepage millions of times a day and its nice to see something different every time i check
- Ryohei, on 10/12/2007, -2/+35Yep, added mine when I got to the machine and say "New!" I love it when they do that its like getting a present.
- mattgs, on 10/12/2007, -1/+31Neat. Too bad the seasonal scape doesn't take in account there is no snow where I live :(
- r3zonance, on 10/12/2007, -0/+28Yes, my little themed fox beats your boring background any day.
- Yankees368, on 10/12/2007, -3/+29Hmm...I kinda like this. I would like to see some more though, but it's a good start
- praisethelard, on 06/06/2008, -2/+27If Myspace has taught us anything, it's to not let users modify themes. Leave it to the pros!
- purdo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+24doesn't work for me ;-( much to the amusement of my co-workers!
- TheTap, on 10/12/2007, -1/+23This is really cool but why can't they add a themed Gmail?
I use Gmail skins and mix it up since I get tired of the same look day after day but it breaks often as Gmail makes updates. - grexeo, on 10/12/2007, -3/+24They should allow people to upload themes for others to download and have a rating system/etc.
- Nougat, on 10/12/2007, -1/+21On the other hand, there are 5% which are good.
On yet another hand, or possibly a foot, user-generated themes begins the MySpace-ification of Google. - 98acura, on 10/12/2007, -0/+18It makes your customized page (that has everything i look at on a daily basis, on one page) look better.. If you don't like it, fine, but does it hurt you in any way because the feature is there? Didn't think so. Troll.
- underthelinux, on 10/12/2007, -0/+17on bended knee.
- r3zonance, on 10/12/2007, -9/+24No they shouldn't.
95%+ of the user generated addins for the google personalized homepage are badly written and utter tripe!
I'd prefer it if they kept it all in house. - FastZ, on 10/12/2007, -2/+17You seriously didnt know about the Customized Google Homepage before now?!
- Yeyui, on 10/12/2007, -1/+15...or that spring starts tonight. (8:07 EDT, 00:07 GMT)
- b0wl0fud0n, on 10/12/2007, -1/+14I don't think it's exposed to everyone yet. It's missing off of my homepage as well. It's supposed to be next to the Add Stuff link:

User AB testing maybe? Can someone post the url that the themes link goes to? - Waterrat, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13 Very, very cool!
Since I'm in hurricane ally,NC, I wonder if I'll get a virtual hurricane? - biohzrd, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13That's why you have the OPTION of installing them. Seriously, user-generated content can be quite creative.
- SilleeString, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11Not the most intelligent contribution to the conversation, but man...this is pretty neat.
- Anrkist, on 10/12/2007, -2/+13No one wants to see your giganto beveled text/photoshop filter work.
- Takami826, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10lighten up. don't use it if you don't like it. use it if you like it. it's fun.
people have no sense of mild amusement and appreciation of random moments of fluff. - fashiontrot, on 10/12/2007, -2/+12Dear Netvibes,
Sorry, but, ya know.
- The Google Team - Twinny, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11City Scape has some pretty sweet changes for time.
- TheTap, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10"Screenshots anyone?"

"Tea House" is a little busy around the search box, but regardless, Make mine Google. :g: - elenadragon, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9I'm logged in, my language is set to English and I don't have a theme link. I have been using the personalized web page for a while now, and nothing new is showing up. I am using the google.com url.
- ieddiew, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9Is anyone else having problems with content of the web parts being shrinked? My google calendar is so small now that I am having problems reading the texts
- willemmulder, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10update: it *does* find my local weather situation here in Holland, but the whole theme does *not* show up if I change the language back to Dutch.
So, no technical restrictions, but some Googleguy decided to not make it available to everyone yet...
Cool nonetheless! :-)
I use Bus stop, as I think it is least 'interferring' with the search box, and it is stylish in displaying the tabs...
update2 @FiPO: I used a too little town at first :) - Anrkist, on 10/12/2007, -5/+12I am now Zen like warrior, ready to do mind battle in my Pagoda.
- FiP0, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8willemmulder: I tried "Paris" and it works fine..
- scispaz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Thank you for your use of random exclaimation points and spaces in conjunction with each other. I am sure your 4th grade teacher is proud of your use of capitalization, grammar and punctuation.
"there is an entire universe beyond google and problems of poverty & global warming to worry about"
Yes, there is. Sometimes we all like enjoying happy asthetically pleasing things. I mean even you seem to like Netvibe's themes. What is wrong with other people really liking Google's themes - willemmulder, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9set language to english in your preferences (next to the search box), and you'll see the 'add theme' next to the 'add stuff'...
have fun! - Neoisamu, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8Hell yeah, I like this one as well... wth is up with that worm-lizard thing when it's 6am?
- dmach27, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8It's raining at my bus stop...pretty cool
- MrsHarris, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7I didn't have it on my .co.uk so I changed my homepage to the .com add its there.
Oh shoot!!! Now all you guys know I'm in the UK... have I no privacy anymore?!? - NCSUspoon, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8Umm, how do you actually add a theme? There is no option for it anywhere. If you google 'google theme' it comes up with nothing useful. Directions?
- benstudley, on 10/12/2007, -3/+9I definitely don't see any option for adding a theme :(
- autodata, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7done and done, yet I still don't have it. Google apparently hasn't rolled it out to everyone using .com and english.
- MackDiesel2010, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8just kill yourself
- beeerad, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Hmm now is it just me or is it only google.com that gets this.
I can have themes there, but trying .co.nz .com.au .co.uk .ca, even .co.kr -- nada
