mezzoblue.com — Dave Shea has an excellent tutorial over on Mezzoblue that shows how to spice up your screenshots by giving them some perspective and a touch of focal blur.

...Touche, gay *****. - DarkReign16, on 10/12/2007, -3/+76I won't even bother pointing out the irony here.
- evilpig, on 10/12/2007, -20/+2I don't understand... :
- kisore, on 10/12/2007, -17/+4@ pete6677:
How about you ask that yourself before asking people? - themastersb, on 10/12/2007, -19/+11Just block him and move on.
- Aliarse, on 10/12/2007, -3/+20But, theres no fun in that, themastersb. Its much more fun to argue with them.
- SultanTravi, on 10/12/2007, -4/+29@darkreign16
Ironically, by saying you wouldn't point out the irony, you sort of did!
/pointless observation - WraythX, on 10/12/2007, -3/+11@sultantravi: it's called apophasis :)
- charliecharlos, on 10/12/2007, -67/+9@pete6677
- charliecharlos, on 10/12/2007, -38/+4Headline inaccurate, should read: Adobe© Photoshop©
- Andross01, on 10/12/2007, -3/+52It's a trademark, not a copyright . . . (Adobe® Photoshop®)

- MrSpontaneous, on 10/12/2007, -3/+36Isn't the purpose of a screenshot to illustrate something in an understandable and readable format? I don't see this as being very practical.
- eplawless, on 10/12/2007, -15/+5it still does, and now it looks prettier.
- Smills, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Well, for example, if you were discussing something to do with google in-dependent of their site (it happens believe it or not) then you would not need a readable screenshot of google.com would you Everyone knows that site, you could just screenshot it, change perspective and blur it to put a unique spin on things.
- betterth, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6This question illustrates why you're not a graphic designer. You think like a programmer. "Shouldn't it the most usable and readable?"
- selrahc, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2This doesn't have to apply to a screenshot. It was just used as an example because it is something you don't ordinarily see with that perspective.
- nick0909, on 10/12/2007, -2/+24When I worked as a photographer for a newspaper my photo editor beat it in to me that a crooked photo was a gimmick for people that didn't know how to really take photos. It makes the photo interesting for a few seconds, but the skewed angle (unless there is a strong line that holds the skew somehow) makes it hard for people to actually see and enjoy the image. I would imagine the same holds true for screenshots. I want to see how good or bad the program is, not how good the reviewer is at photoshop.
- EBFoxbat, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4You seem to be missing the application for this. Obviously if the specific content of the screenshot is of importance, it wouldn't be distorted and blurred. However, if you are needing to take up space or otherwise required to use a graphic, this is a pretty good way.
You would be pissed if you could clearly read the screenshot and there was nothing useful on it. You'll complain that you've wasted your time by reading the useless content. This prevents that while still providing support for the written content.

- PathDaemon, on 10/12/2007, -1/+20Issues: No point given. No high rez final product (the intermediate screenshots were fugly). Aaannndd... the blur implementation was disgusting. Lens Blur takes a depth mask! Masking out the filter just makes Lens Blur work worse. Idea: 6; implementation: 2.
Ya know, I'm gonna do this in my own way just to show how badly this tutorial was made...
