- Dustyb, on 10/12/2007, -2/+23These are sick, I've been tired of wading through Anime wallpapers over at deviantART. Thanks.
- Jaymoon, on 10/12/2007, -5/+20It's kevin rose....
He could post a link to a blank page, and it will get a million diggs. - Jugalator, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10Browsing DA for anime wallpapers when you think they're annoying is like complaining on Digg about comedy videos when browsing the comedy videos category.
- ucerian, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7interfacelift is definitely the way to go. they are one of the most dugg stories of the year for a reason. http://interfacelift.com/wallpaper/index.php?sort=downloads over 7,000 diggs i think
- trylleklovn, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8Or one could just use interfacelift.com
- thenonhacker, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Try other wallpaper categories, deviantArt has more categories like 3D, Widescreen, Architecture, etc...
- thunderer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5I wish you could sort it by resolution. I'm at 1680x1050, and that's no fun to find.
- Kittenality, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7Kevin's submission has the better descriptive title and links directly to the wallpaper (not the same link as the other submission). I don't think the other title would have gotten my attention.
- nofxjunkee, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I just wish I had the time and patience to look through all 10k photos for the best ones. The few pages I did look at had some great ones.
- curtissthompson, on 10/12/2007, -6/+9Site that displays search results better for this Flickr Wallpaper Pool:
http://www.marcogomes.com/wallpapr/ - csansbury, on 10/12/2007, -6/+8Did Digg's duplicate submission system not warn you this had been submitted an hour and a half before you ;-)
- jacobo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1my tribute to digg: http://www.flickr.com/photos/48157236@N00/292390413/in/pool-wallpapers/
- Code_Poet, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Does anybody have a program for switching wallpapers between these flickr pics?
- drewskyjones, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Very Nice...Digg! Another great source of wallpapers is the NASA Atronomy Picture of the Day website:
http://antwrp.gsfc.nasa.gov/apod/
They are not sized for wallpaper and not all are great, but there are a bunch of cool ones and a new one every day. Browse the archives and you will find some nice galaxy shots like this http://antwrp.gsfc.nasa.gov/apod/ap061105.html And stretch the image on your desktop to make it fit if the sizing is a little off. I love having cool pictures from the hubble and other telescopes for my wallpaper. - howdareyou, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Not too many meet the 1024x768 minimum, most of the ones I've wanted are 800x600.
- tablatronix, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I already use Johns background switcher which grabs images straight from Flickr based on tags, users or pools you specify. But now i can use real wallpapers. Thanks, i didnt know about these.
heres that app btw
http://www.johnsadventures.com/backend/BackgroundSwitcher/ - djKianoosh, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I'm with you there.. 1680x1050 is a great resolution, but not too many people save their pics in those dimensions. about a few weeks ago I looked for a flickr group specifically for this but couldn't find one. If I don't see one soon, I'll probably just create it and hopefully people will like it and join...
- drewskyjones, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1There are a bunch that are at lower resolutions...bummer. I wonder if anyone is downloading spaceball.gif and wondering "WTF?" on some of the private pages? It is so annoying. I know, the answer is to block it with adblock in FF...and I did. Overall, I did manage to find quite a few that I liked at an acceptable resolution...but I so not have a widescreen...yet.
- old2, on 01/13/2009, -0/+1widescreen wallpaper:
http://www.topsir.com/ - plingboot, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Nice (or do I mean Sick!) - excellent way to get your long lost flickr photo's views up by 100+ in 20 mins, thanks digg. :)
- cmajewski, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1No digg - too many private pages!
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1http://www.flickr.com/groups/wallpaperandbackgrounds/
- Mandeep, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Wallpaper Master, I use it and it has so many settings it's not even funny.
- gfxblit, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0My one complaint is that nobody wants to wade through 14k+ photos. Just show me the highest rated/dugged!!
- smohan123, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1I agree with chadseld. My monitor's native resolution is 1680x1050 (Dell 2005FPW FTW, BTW). I have absolutely no use for 1024x780. In fact, anything less than the native resolution gets cropped or the aspect ratio of the picture gets all effed up. Wallpapers are best at something like 1920x1200 or higher so they don't need to be stretched for widescreen users but at the same time fit nearly every size monitor (needless to say, 4:3 monitors are covered). Now don't get me wrong, these are some great shots, but it just sucks not to be able to sort by size, type, dimensions or whatever. Maybe someone will download them all using a tool/script (or brute force if they're retarded) and post a torrent. I, for one, will be on the look out.
Cheers. - Pandalume, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0http://www.digitalblasphemy.com/freegallery.shtml
- chadseld, on 10/12/2007, -5/+41024x768 is CRAP.
- seyDoggy, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0Cool!
- DarthMuffin, on 10/12/2007, -7/+4Hey samuelcotterall, try http://www.pixelgirlpresents.com or http://mandolux.com for a good selection of higher res wallpapers.
- DuyNguyen, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1Beautiful!
- MrBabyMan, on 10/12/2007, -5/+1I just had one of those "duh" moments. I can't believe I've been using Flickr so long and it never occurred to me that it's the PERFECT source for wallpaper! Thanks, Kev!
- vladm, on 10/12/2007, -5/+1flickr's been a little show recently but this has some cool stuff - worth digging
- samuelcotterall, on 10/12/2007, -6/+2I can't find anything interesting, or at least nothing that fits 1600 x 1200.
It reminds me of deviantART, where people who had an image in a particularly screen-like resolution would put it in the Wallpaper category. - CognitiveD, on 10/12/2007, -6/+1Not as many as flikr..but all in 1600x1200
http://on.tehintarweb.se/artwork/index.html - rushonerok, on 10/12/2007, -7/+1Don't forget the wallpaper rotator tool to automatically change your wallpaper...
http://dotnetrush.blogspot.com/2006/09/wallpaper-flickr-my-hackday-hack.html - pcharles23, on 10/12/2007, -7/+1kevin rose is a flamer :) Gat dam alchie.

I still like Devinart tho - Fluidity, on 10/12/2007, -9/+2Idiot Arduenn! I'm going to Digg you up just to be annoying although perhaps that's what you're testing to see if people do!
- tinhed, on 10/12/2007, -7/+0Deviant Art rocks.
- oblongmouth, on 10/12/2007, -11/+4IQ70 - you're obviously not 'down' with the kids are you dude? ;p
Sick = good
just like gay = bad
Dustyb's probably a skater or a snowboarder (liek me).
Also - agree with Dustyb - anime backgrounds are super tedious. - LastDinosaur, on 10/12/2007, -9/+1Everything Flickr does turns out awesome. I love this site.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -9/+1Site that generates full image mosaics (slighly different) via Flickr: http:// www.adelaider.com/image-mosaic/ :)
- arduenn, on 10/12/2007, -16/+3Test. Digg me down.
- IQ70, on 10/12/2007, -18/+3Did you mean slick?
- battlefield1985, on 10/12/2007, -20/+4I'll digg it..but not because YOU submitted it.
That is all.
