- zikzak, on 10/14/2007, -10/+1amazing!
- dukem72, on 10/14/2007, -1/+21Simpleviewer didn't make the list. Possibly one of the first flash galleries out there.
- ropers, on 10/15/2007, -25/+14You lost me at "Flash".
- TheYoshi, on 10/14/2007, -2/+26Flash isn't bad, it's the people who have horribly designed uses for it that are bad. That's like saying java is bad because someone used it to write a poorly performing web app, or c++ is bad because it can be used to write windows apps.
- RandomGuySteve, on 10/14/2007, -5/+0every use for flash besides gaming and wasting time.. is already a horribly designed use.
- kris33, on 10/14/2007, -4/+3Bad example, since Java is quite bad while Flash is great, if you use it right. Slow performance and interface elements from the early 90s are the two biggest problems with Java.
- canthraxp, on 10/15/2007, -3/+1Flash is bad because it breaks the normal navigation. Any normal website let's you go back and forth with the history buttons, flash doesn't respect that. And the worse use of flash are banners, especially those with sound. I must agree with ropers.

- allyant, on 10/14/2007, -1/+6Nice collection, it would be nice if someone made a copy of the .Mac Slideshow.
- tyros8000, on 10/14/2007, -4/+1interesting
- FrankGoodman, on 10/14/2007, -6/+9good thing i got adblock to pick up this type of stuff
- Agret, on 10/19/2007, -0/+5So instead of getting to see photos -- you see nothing? Wow, you must be a hit at parties.
- 68024, on 10/13/2007, -5/+3Awesome, I've been looking for something like this for a while.
- kermithefrogand, on 10/14/2007, -7/+1"veaaarrrrryyy nice! how much?"
- DestroyFascism, on 10/14/2007, -4/+2Nice work......
Mootools and Flash..drool..... - JoaoPe, on 10/14/2007, -1/+3First one is great!
- helgravis, on 10/14/2007, -1/+2i agree. the first one looks like the best.
- crees!, on 10/14/2007, -2/+7For me I use, and recommend to others, SlideshowPro. It's not free, but well worth it. It's a Flash component with a web-based management system for your photos, and, video.

BTW, dfGallery looks like a complete rip off of SSP.- simd, on 10/14/2007, -0/+3It does look very good. Shame they don't sell a pre-built flash application - I don't want to programme flash at this stage.
- carguy84, on 10/14/2007, -0/+1It comes with the SWF and it totally controllable with javascript and xml. I know next to nothing about Flash, but I was able to edit a few small things I wanted to edit. By far, the best gallery software if you're going to do it in flash. The image thumbnails make it even cooler. Mouseover the smaller thumbnail and it pops up another thumbnail:

- WardC, on 10/14/2007, -4/+5I don't like Flash at all because it only complicates the aspects of image sharing or saving, JPEG images cannot be easily saved, e-mailed, put in a slideshow on the computer, put in Photoshop, etc with the Flash presentation simply because it's difficult to easily save the image to disk, you would have to root around in the source code for sometime to figure it out. I've been annoyed by many sites for this reason. Although I say this, Flash does present some neat and tidy ways to professionally present images and galleries, if saving the images from a client is not desired or deemed useless or unnecessary.
- MScrip, on 10/14/2007, -1/+7Some people might not want people to save their images to disk. That's one advantage to a Flash gallery.
I'm now using SimpleViewer for my web galleries, from a recommendation from a comment here. I wanted a simple gallery for my websites, that looks good and is easy to use.
I was using the Web Gallery outputs from Photoshop. But that made individual web pages for each image, and a lot of other overhead. SimpleViewer requires one HTML file, a customizable XML file, and folders for your images and thumbnails. And it creates the gallery with minimal fuss. It looks really good, and easily makes a gallery for your website.
http://www.airtightinteractive.com/photos/- maou, on 10/14/2007, -2/+6Print Screen and MSPaint can be used to subvert any downloading protection flash offers! Frankly, if you don't want your images saved, they shouldn't be on the internet.
- MScrip, on 10/14/2007, -0/+4I know this. I don't care if people save my images. I just want a simple web gallery that looks good. I think I have found it.

http://seeqpod.com/partner_widgets.html - Error601, on 10/14/2007, -8/+5You can use a flash based gallery if you want to significantly reduce the number of people that actually look at your pictures.
- ToxicGas, on 08/11/2008, -1/+4only the self righteous fools like yourself .... i can live with that
- Danelope, on 10/14/2007, -1/+3At last check*, Flash Player has a 95% or greater penetration rate for Internet users and is thus the most ubiquitous application platform in the world. That you are mired in age-old rhetoric about Flash is undermined by the fact that people who share your opinions are statistically insignificant.

- epj3, on 10/14/2007, -7/+2Anyone else absolutely hate flash image viewers?
- eastcoastmike, on 10/15/2007, -1/+1no, only assholes like you
bet your fun at parties- epj3, on 10/15/2007, -0/+1Wow that completely makes sense.
- eastcoastmike, on 10/15/2007, -1/+1no, only assholes like you
- darlyn, on 10/14/2007, -5/+4WE NEED FLASH ON THE iPHONE!!!
- mikebrushedred, on 10/14/2007, -5/+0Makes it more of a hassle to steal pics.
- acidbathfan, on 10/14/2007, -6/+0I think Flash games and cartoons are cool but I really don't like Flash based websites.
- justinjstark, on 10/15/2007, -7/+2Why flash? Flash is awful!
- eastcoastmike, on 10/15/2007, -0/+2flash rules, which is why you're getting dugg down for being the miserable ***** that you are
- spargett, on 10/14/2007, -3/+3Appreciate the resources, but Flash is soooo un-user friendly.
Flash hates you. And your family. - jkharris07, on 10/14/2007, -0/+2I generally try to avoid flash but there are some pretty useful features in flash.
- dalesmatrix, on 10/14/2007, -0/+2I personally don't mind paying for the image veux gallery:
http://www.imagevuex.com/
Work well for my gallery of images, just FTP up the pics and they appear in the menu...easy peasy.
ahem...http://www.colourpixels.net for an example (shameless plug for my own gallery) - focus29, on 10/14/2007, -2/+1looks promising. though still has the flash problems.
- toggo, on 10/15/2007, -0/+1Which are?
- ubergeek09, on 10/15/2007, -2/+1Pretty cool, but like many other users have said flash = meh.
- eastcoastmike, on 10/14/2007, -0/+1ubergeek09 = meh
- jmahorney, on 11/07/2007, -0/+1I couldn't hate flash based galleries any more than I do. What I great way to frustrate users so they leave the page.
- mydave, on 07/28/2008, -0/+0oh they are grate!
