- drw2583, on 10/12/2007, -2/+30Could have done without that nerd dancing in front of the screen
- technonoob, on 10/12/2007, -4/+28SWEET what a kick ass Bar-B-Q Grill
Now I can burn the image of The Virgin Mary onto my steak

- drigz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10The air screen! Yeah, it wouldn't be much to look at, but conceptually it'd be great!
- monkeyBox, on 10/12/2007, -2/+11I'm so sick of the "Dupe" police. I don't sit and stare at digg 24x7, so if it weren't for ppl posting dupes, I wouldn't have seen it in the first place.
- jawadde, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10what would a BSoD look like on this monitor ? :-)
- betona, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8...so can I hook up the cable and watch my favorite team(s) go down in flames?
- solidcube, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8I hear Great White is using this for their next comeback tour.
- eschatonik, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8Dirt Screen: http://www.24hours7days.com/Bugs/giant_ant_farm.html
- soogy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Still waiting for the dirt screen...
- blackrthanspace, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7at first i thought this was a yawn but after getting into the site and checking the videos for what it can do, i actually have to say that i am pretty impressed. the guy dancing in front of it is lame though. excellent blend of tech and tribal
- whaught, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6And teh resolution won't be great for gaming, but the brightness and contrast look alright
- pauldonnelly, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5I'll hold out for the fire *touch* screen.
- HydraulicToast, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Dance white boy, dance!
- ViceVirtue, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I think a screen like this would have some nice uses in some places - like some bars etc .... given ofcourse the safety factor...
- SniperX, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4And it outputs almost as much heat as my plasma =/
- nonokiaboy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Um, how would you know when the screen breaks? Would it catch on fire?
- felchdonkey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I want more videos of the dancing nerd. He will be my new Star Wars Kid.
Why do people who can't dance always video themselves to prove it to the world? - BlackPhantom, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3This would be awesome in a nightclub if it were ten times bigger and displayed a giant talking face. Another way to mesmerize the drunks methinks.
- dreadlock7, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Pong would be awesome on that thing!
- soogy, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5Like death.
- akanekal, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Hehehe great! I love it... Great at fireworks displays etc. Does anyone know the name of the song in the first video? It's not coming up in Tunatic
- cyssero, on 04/18/2009, -0/+3I wonder what a dead-pixel would be like with this display.. a gas leak? :p
- Amplix, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2What would be cool is if he set up a webcam and let us put messages up on that thing. :)
- StuGazzO, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Cool, but the dorky white guy trying to be cool with his "dancing" steals the show. Looooo-ah-ser!
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2http://www.infernoptix.com/index.htm thats the main url for the company, wouldnt mind one of these in my bedroom ;)
- jetfxr, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4UHHH, the flames of a fire are "PLASMA". Therefore its just another plasma screen, lame. Old technology, 790,000 years to be exact.
- MrVisible, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Just imagine the flame wars you could get into with this thing...
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2does it have a resolution of 1280x1024 flames? :)
- nurvus, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2that refresh rate is phenomenal!...
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I wish the prat had gotten too close and caught himself on fire. Then his presence might have been beneficial to the video clip. As it is, he's just an anoying *****!!
- pauldonnelly, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4July. It's called July in the U.S.
- Serendipity, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I love it...;)
- drgnmstrnik, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1You know, the description is technically not correct. This IS a form of plasma screen, just a lot larger pixels and a lot less controlled, but that's basically what is happeneing in your plasma TV on a very small scale.
- bfdhud, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1No one dances in front of my plasma screen though. :(
- sinembarg0, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I would love to play pong or tetris on a bigger version of this.
- slash101, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Sweet... bet it would cost a bomb to buy one.
- dimplemonkey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I'm impressed. Could you turn it sideways and grill on it during the non-peak hours of use?
- ckpcw, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Pshhh.. that's the old 480i model.. probably doesn't even have DVI or HDMI input. n00bs..
- SyDIGG, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1This story could be filed under the "geeks with big egos and too much time on their hands" pile.
- beesforbreath, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1blizzard screen: http://arstechnica.com/news.ars/post/20060509-6790.html
(cue megaman music) - justsomeguy987, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Not sure I like the potential for burn-in..ng with this device.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I'm gonna need at least 60 flames per second to play Quake 4 on this.
- Cyph3r, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0from http://www.infernoptix.com/inquiries.htm
"Why does this exist?
-If you have to ask, you wouldn't understand."
lol! - prguitarman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Was he watching Oprah?
- catfive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Do you think display burn-in could be a problem?
- ltt19, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0well... hope kids dont watch this too close
