aka: Turd polishing - bostonyankee, on 10/12/2007, -3/+17How about an online spelling course?
- Jwoey, on 10/12/2007, -3/+15that's unpossible!
- emanggid, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10This has actually been around for a while and is a GREAT guide. I have been through all the lessons and I think this is just as good, if not better, than any book you can get for intro to photography.
Too many books now just have stuff pertaining to how you turn your camera on and off.
Tip - Go through the discussions to really get a good grasp - MetalUnderShock, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10I guess theres a little more to it than point and click.
- CarpetFilter, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8 Sponsored by morguefile? I can't wait to see the example shots...
- fantomonkey, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Similar to the Digital Photo School blog. Both great resources.
- tdp05, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4awesome, never seen these before. I'm taking a community college photography course and this will be a nice supplement to that.
- eadint, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4When i first got into photography i found this tutorial, about 2 - 3 years ago. it was one of the better tutorials that i have learned from. i would definitly reccomend this tutorial to anyone who is interested in photography. she does allot of explaining about lighting and technique.
- blinking8s, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I used to moderate photography sections on several design forums, I always sent the n00bies to this course. It's a solid resource for beginners.
- streetstealth, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4"Knowing how to use your camera" doesn't equal "knowing how to take good photography." But you can learn, and I hope you give it a chance!
- bash, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Misogyny, you sure live up to your name.
- TortfeasorG, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I've been known to graph the phots from time to time.
- tmpoirier, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2these are nice. I especially like the lighting tutorial.
- BlackAdderIII, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I find words quite useful as a learning tool, maybe that's just me.
Seriously though, it's like 2D graphic design or 3D modelling - you can't assume very language-centric people will just "get it" with visual intuition - I much prefer having visual stuff like that described in words I can pigeonhole and remember if I'm learning new techniques. - mconnors, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1This is my site- sadly we were having problems replicating between the servers and were performing repairs yesterday. Had no idea about the digg story. At one time I noticed 500 people online and thought we screwed something up. Don't forget there are 138,000, free as in beer, stock photos to use as well. http://www.morguefile.com/archive/?author=all&sort=date_added
- Fracture98, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Thank goodness! I'm desperately behind in graphing my phots.
- awhileago, on 06/15/2008, -0/+1I've already read most of this stuff many times, and can apply it pretty well... but I must say this is one of the best online(better than most books or magazines too) photography tutorials I have seen. Very well written and easy to understand. I wish I had found this when I first got into photography. This will be a site I suggest to anybody that asks me where to learn more about photography.
- evilish, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Awesome, I was looking for something like this. :)
Cheers! - paulocon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Superb resource - please feel free to add to www.photographyvoter.com
- 13thfloor, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1This is great, but I still need access to a darkroom...

- Sethwm2, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Thank you free FTW.. Open Source FTW.. This is what I like to see on the Internet user created things that are high quality and it is free because everyone on the Internet contributes one way or another. That is what balances the whole Internet. Hence Web 2.0
- joeylomanto, on 02/17/2008, -0/+0I'd also check out shutterpond photo contests to work on your photography...
