- hmreality, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4They definitely should have included Buckminster Fuller's Dymaxion....
10 passengers, 120 mph, 30 - 50 mpg, could rotate about its center....all in 1933. It would have completely changed the evolution of the auto industry had it not been wrongly quashed by bad press.
http://www.washedashore.com/projects/dymax/ - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I'm all for cool and innovative designs, but I have one little axe to grind:
The day that car designers stop reserving all their worst designs for electrical, hybrid, and alternative energy vehicles is the day we get closer to ending our reliance on fossil fuels. I guarantee you that at least one of the reasons nobody is buying those cars (besides high cost) is their ugly-ass looks.
Also, this new-age design mentality that's turning out either box-shaped (Scion) or circular (Smartcar) vehicles needs to stop. These ideas work for web design and consumer electronics, but most certainly do NOT work for vehicles that people use to drive to work. - MasterChi, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4http://www.diseno-art.com/images/volvo_gravity_car.jpg
^^ Nice curves on that :) - einsfahrt, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Dugg for the Land-Walker exoskeleton. Its no BattleMech but its a start.
- mindsnare, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3where's "the Homer" ?
- TheWestExit, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2They list a Messerschmitt Tg500 Tiger but the picture they have is a Messerschmitt Kr200. The tiger is a later model which added a forth wheel and a 2nd cylinder.
A modified Messerschmitt Kr200 was used in Terry Gilliam's 'Brazil' as the personal transporter used by Sam Lowry. - ricodued, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2http://www.diseno-art.com/encyclopedia/strange_vehicles/mclean_v8_monowheel.html
So that's where South Park got that idea ( http://www.planearium2.de/pics/pics-511-5.jpg ). - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2General Grievous is not impressed.
- Wolfman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Yeah, the chick is pretty smokin'
- lahar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I hope that isn't rectally controlled.
- hrdcregmer808, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1the asimo rules!! I liked that one lexus car, looked awesome...
- PhantomZmoove, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I saw that Minority Report Lexus in person at a car show a couple years ago. Its much cooler looking in person. They are right though, it is really hard to tell the front from the back.
- crpietschmann, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I like the Bombardier Embrio

http://www.showrods.com/showrod_pages/pink_panther.html - mfratt, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I am sold on the PALV. Id considered the possibility of a helicopter car in the past. Itd be nice if they actually build that.
- BlakeEM, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I have seen this on a few different shows.
Works pretty well. - antdude, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Is it Darwin from SeaQuest DSV? :)
- thegsa, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1the jeep--minus the two hemis, replaced by a hybrid-- would be a really cool production car

One of the car shows in the UK actually tested the Carver, it looks flipping mental and would make any drive great fun, it's also quite roomy as the 6ft+ presenter can get into the back seat!!! - asteron, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Yeah. Excellent link!! I read every entry and was amazed by some of the ingenuity out there!
- OBKenobi, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Ok, now stop using gasoline.
- chromo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1nice little archive here, hope it grows more cause theirs a ton of concept cars out there.

^^ If anybody thinks this wouldn't be bad ass to ride in, I'll smack you. - Pretty1, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0No, that car exists. It's real.
Not a VW. - john608, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Wow - some of these are over the top. A crazy one: The Bionic Dolphin. it has room for one and the section says
"This Bionic Dolphin can perform a wide variety of aquatic acrobatics, and the craft can literally leap out of the water. " - lahar, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I think that's just a three-wheeled VW van.
- m4ff3w, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Most are not production cars, most are just concepts.
