- JonRohan, on 10/11/2007, -12/+47stop peddling apollo on us.
- hixsonj, on 10/11/2007, -2/+21Sorry about forcing Apollo on everyone, that was mainly for the "page view" part of the application. If you want to see the app without Apollo go here:

I appreciate the feedback! - Universal, on 10/11/2007, -2/+20Some screenshots of Digg Watch for those who don't want to download Apollo:

I was really hoping for a wrist accessory. - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -8/+18WHY MUST ALL OF THE DIGG API FINALISTS INTEGRATE APOLLO INTO THEIR APPLICATIONS?!
- arcooke, on 10/11/2007, -0/+8I sort of agree. If Apollo gets anywhere near as widespread as Flash, I'm all for it. But right now, the only webapps I've ever used that utilized Apollo have been these Digg API entries. Right now, though, it's just extra bloat I don't need. I have yet to see anything made with it that justifies a download. But as you put it, Apollo = lose, I wouldn't go so far as to generalize it like that. I'm sure it has lots of potential, I just haven't seen it yet. Personal opinion.
- Zinite, on 10/11/2007, -0/+7If you had submitted the non-Apollo version of this you could've taken 1st easily. Nice app though.
- slipgrid, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4No Linux Support == Broke
- chicoer2001, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4I predict that in about 16 minutes another diggcontent.com story will be on the front page.
- PathDaemon, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4DiggCity is not fun to look at :(
- WildTang3nt, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5@jonrohan (#6852096)
Agreed... doesn't work on Linux at all. - naio, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4Create a tool that shows who BURIED stories and comments and I'm in for it.
- digitalme, on 10/11/2007, -8/+11Apollo = lose.
Do not want. - darkhero, on 10/11/2007, -3/+6***** you apollo. I am using Linux!
- Mingstasy, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2I love the mini design and smooth transistions! Its staying on my computer (would be neat if you make this a Mac Dashboard App!)
- zappo1776, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2I like the graphs and it loads the page faster than Firefox.
- ilkeryoldas, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3DiggChart is much more useful imo
- SystemLord, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2At the end of the day what's the point of these useless apps? So you can watch whose digging what? How about going to the zoo?
- ElectricGrandpa, on 10/11/2007, -2/+4Just get it and get used to it. This is supposed to be a tech-savvy crowd, so try out the new technology. Apollo is extremely useful and powerful - I'm not surprised that it's being used.
- bluephoenix, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3To all the Apollo haters....there was a time, long ago..when digg was about technology and programming and contained information about the latest in open source utilities....no one is pushing apollo...tools like apollo and silverlight are the future of the web.....stop complaining and maybe try to learn something....otherwise why don't you go to myspace news where you belong.
- Ireland, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1You might never have to visit the site again with this thing, I'd bet the advertisers are nervous ;)
- raymore, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1No mouse when doing a mouse over? Beh, I no want, me say no, no.
- arcooke, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1I really like the smooth transitions. Very nicely done.
- dlsspy, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1The app I created using the digg API is pretty useful for me (and whomever else uses it). It's also called diggwatch (not sure which came first -- mine was three or four weeks ago, but it's not the most creative name):
http://bleu.west.spy.net/diggwatch/
It's not a visualization, but you can get an RSS feed of your comments, threads you're involved in, your friends' comments and comments and articles for a given domain. That's all I needed. - jupi, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1thanks for the screenshots.
- ElectricGrandpa, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1And yet you're commenting about how pointless they are... Which is more pointless, really?
- Robboblob, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1this is the best appollo easily.
it will be a shame if the appollo ones lose out just because people are shunning the tech, its an alpha ffs, give them a chance.
I really hope Digg city doesn't win...
Rob. - Aldaron07, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Minus the Apollo bit, I like it. If a story's description was included in the tool tip when you hover the cursor over a story and add a way to sort by amount of diggs it would be better. Nonetheless, it's a nice and clean app.
- Ireland, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1This app is my favourite. It's actually useable. Unlike the other ones, this one has mass appeal.
- teichenauer, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1Again - old fogie reactionaries unite! Nobody could possibly really be interested in digg.com or meta conversations about digg.com!
And those google.com and banner ads are just too much - who wants those! That is the last straw - I am calling the New York Times and reordering a subscription with them. News as it was meant to be - on paper - filtered from on high - with no disturbing articles about unapproved crazy "theories" about why they bombed the WTC.
Perhaps there is a section in that yellowy book for "Town Criers" - now that's the ticket - you open your door and you hear news and when you close the door the news is off. And it is so ecological too - no electicity - no petroleum fuel used to deliver it - it will be like the time of the Garden of Eden.
Jehosephat folks, one would think that reflexive rejectionists would be sitting back in their recliner chairs complaining about that newfangled Jay Leno replacing Johnny Carson and typing membership applications on their Remington manual typewriters to the American Communist Party (of course after they finish complaining that they can't find Archie Bunker on the TV anymore).
(And please folks - in case your satire detection sensor is broken - take everything I said as meaning the exact opposite.) - myt29, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0Most of these apps are just retrieving stories from digg and displaying them in another format with a bunch of statistics. I'd rather see something with think-outside-the-box creativity and that is fun to look at, like DiggCity.
- BushidoReverend, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0Atleast I'm not the only one.
- zappo1776, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1All this bitching about Apollo should have been done before. This has been known for awhile.
- supernovasky, on 10/11/2007, -1/+0I like the story activity function.
- Aliarse, on 10/11/2007, -3/+2@wwwdot1jesdotus (#6858825)
Same.
But i also buried you because you're spamming your website. - ipodman715, on 10/11/2007, -7/+6Enough with the Digg API Contest spam!
- morrislevy, on 10/11/2007, -5/+4Way to post Digg ON Digg, and then get not one, not two, but THREE Front-page stories. LameXorz.
- wwwdot1jesdotus, on 10/11/2007, -5/+3If someone puts their real name as their digg name it's not called spam just because it's not relevant. It's a name. It doesn't have to be relevant. I'm not taking up extra space for having a web address as my name.
- teichenauer, on 10/11/2007, -6/+2Kneejerk reactionaries unite! OS9 rules!
You can have my Radio Shack Color Computer when you can pry it from my cold dead hands!
http://oldcomputers.net/coco.html - insanebrain, on 10/11/2007, -5/+0- "stop peddling apollo on us."
Stop post the same post OVER and OVER again ... it's getting boring - wwwdot1jesdotus, on 10/11/2007, -10/+3I'm personally sick of all the front page stories being submitted by one user (like this one). I'm marking them all spam. Give someone else a chance to get stories recognized.
