- sockpuppets, on 10/12/2007, -1/+88 This is great if you're touching up all those family photos of you and Sauron.
- bryguy000, on 10/12/2007, -11/+44Lame
- FreakTrap, on 10/12/2007, -7/+35Seriously, that eye looks like *****...
- tikistyle, on 10/12/2007, -1/+14Agreed. Nothing modern there. Looks like the first digital render of Cookie Monster's eye. In 1996.
- dbr_onix, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9http://67.15.36.49/team/tutorials/antro_eye2/antro_eyetex_01.asp
Better tutorial, from 3d Total (http://www.3dtotal.com/ ). Although it's a lot more work
- Ben - Yurkshat, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8Its a web 2.0 eye (shinyness).
- igotdugout, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8If anything this looks like a cat's eyes if it weren't for that stupid shine. Iris are NOT perfectly round.
Lame tutorial - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -5/+12Isn't Crystal Clear a porn actress? 8)
- adml_shake, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7That doesn't look very realistic. Maybe realistic for a CGI anime or something..
- ovni, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Some better iris tutorials:
http://www.kandsdesign.com/kim/eyemap-tut.html
http://www.3dtotal.com/team/tutorials/antro_eye2/antro_eyetex_01.asp
http://www.andrew-whitehurst.net/eyeTut.html - unloud, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8Isn't adml_shake a porn actress 8)
- cday, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5I dunno why everyone's so grumpy about this tutorial. It's funny how many declared it lame and (presumably) buried it, yet it made it to the front page. Apparently SOMEBODY liked it.
I've been working with Photoshop for a LOT of years and still enjoy seeing how other people use the various tools - even if what they do isn't perfect. I don't care how long someone has worked with PS, there is no way to know everything, there's always something new to learn. The sharing of skills and tool tricks is one of the real joys of being an artist (or musician, or programmer, etc.), and I appreciate the efforts of people who do it.
I liked this tutorial, and webtech has submitted a lot of good ones. I might not use this one specifically for making an eye, but I did learn some new things from reading it. It was well laid out, and easy to follow. I don't know if webtech writes them or just finds them, but whoever wrote it put some time and thought into it. So, it gets a digg from me. - Flashman, on 10/12/2007, -4/+8It's not the world's greatest iris, but it taught me about "Rectangular to polar" and "Layer mode to screen", which I'm sure I can work into something that I'm doing.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -7/+11sooo... where is this iris that looks like the real thing? cos all i saw was a circular piece of crap with a big black dot in the middle.
- Rorrim, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4doesn't even look like a freaking iris...
- dimplemonkey, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4that was a good q&d way to do it.
- Ruffy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Not bad but not really all that good
http://www.3dtotal.com/team/tutorials/antro_eye2/antro_eyetex_01.asp
posted above is a much more kickass tutorial on making an eye - ifonly, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4what is with all these lame tutorials being FP'd.
- Xilon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2If it's supposed to be realistic... why is there gloss?
- trylleklovn, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@dbr_onix
Actually that is a way worse tutorial.. I tried to follow it, but half-way through i gave up because of the poor description. It would be awesome though, if it described how to make the same outcome .. - flap, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3this eye would be much more useful for a vector trace in illustrator or something. It is NOT very detailed.
- oskite, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Not great for anything realistic, but I used this for an album cover a while back based on the current 1984 (the book) paperback cover, and it looks great. Perfect for standalone, but would look like crap in a face.
- jackminardi, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3Woa-woa-woah!
It wasn't that bad, give him a break! - linuxeventually, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2This is old. I've been using their shocking text http://www.n-sane.net/guest_tutorials/shocking_text/index.php tutorial for a long time.
- rhinocirrus, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I agree the eye doesn't look to real, but for an animation that is supposed to have a cg look, it is pretty good and seems fairly easy. Also, this would be a quick and dirty way to make some Icons for your website, desktop, print work, etc.
- artificialhero, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Just gonna throw my hate into the ring - ew. Looks far too inorganic, and what's the deal with the pupil literally just being a black circle.
- JackHallows, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1"2003-2004"
Uh yeah. Old and suck. - ukillman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0i need it ,thank you very much!!
- organon, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Damn. Digg swallows the vector brackets.
- dbr_onix, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2Their frontpage'd to anger you, obviously..
- Ben - adml_shake, on 10/12/2007, -5/+3That in no way shape or form is a good porn actress name, as soon as I read your comment I had about every wrong/nasty image pop into my head that could ever be thought up. No I will require a large amount of booze to make it go away. You sir, are a bastard.
- masterstorm, on 10/12/2007, -3/+0Suxxxors... no but seriously, this was a very bad tutorial by a not very skilled photoshopper.
- NiGHTSChao, on 10/12/2007, -6/+2its as realistic as jesus himself
(Glad follower of the Flying Spaghetti Monster) - sirber, on 10/12/2007, -6/+2buried as lame.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -5/+1dugg for letting us fool biometrics :-D
- Soniti, on 10/12/2007, -8/+3This tutorial is ***** horrible.
Reminds me of ***** I used to do in the 7th grade when I was like "OmG FiLTERzzz!!!1111 OmG GrAyDiENNTZZZ!!!111"
Get this web 1.0 horse ***** off my digg.
~Soniti - sockpuppets, on 10/12/2007, -10/+5Oops wrong thread digg me down please.
- adml_shake, on 10/12/2007, -6/+1You mom says hi ;) or more like mmmmppphhmmmm
- GoClick, on 10/12/2007, -7/+2teh lame
- organon, on 10/12/2007, -8/+2Maybe this looks a little nicer: definition for an eye in pov ray.
And if you can't see what it looks like from the text Matrix style ...
