- Noloco, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Tesla helped Edison out alot. All Edison ever did was make things bad for Tesla, etc. It was a whole game back then. Tesla had alot of dreams, etc. That book though is very insightful, but if you can't pick up a book. Then visit Uncle Taz. It's like having the book. Im sure you could also download many pdf files off of Irc based on him. No as I recall he wasn't very flashy and had alot of downfalls on top of his gains. Kinda like the Laura Ingall story. Good things bad things.
- lollerskates, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1IMO,Tesla > Edison.
Edison was just a hack who got lucky and used the money to get his workers to discover new technologies for him. - dpk87, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1*insert Red Alert Reference here*

I have read two different books about Tesla, not sure if this is one of them. He was one incredible genius. After reading the first book I was amazed I had never heard anything about him in high school (or college). I had heard of the band Tesla. Then while on deployment in Croatia learned of the city there named after Nikola Tesla. A few years after that read the first book about him and I was floored that I had never heard of him before that, excluding the Tesla coil.
So much of what we take for granted today is a result of his experiments and theories.

Pulled? Why? Yes, it's high voltage. Yes, you can hurt yourself if don't know what you are doing.
But so are many things in life. So be very careful if you try this. Or would of technology would not exist with out Nikola Tesla ! No AC Motors, No Transform, No AC power, No Radio, Ect...

Also a good book on Tesla is Tesla Master of lighting by Margaret Cheney and Robert Uth. There is nice pictures and a nice history lesson. Just as you would get @ Uncle Taz,but instead in a book. Btw he isn't even mention in the Smithsonian. Come on let's get Digg on that. - psychoaliendog, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1While Tesla coils are cool this is nothing new, I referenced this page when I attempted to build one... attempted... years ago. The main page is http://deepfriedneon.com/tesla_frame0.html .
- bentenrai, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1A diy Tesla Coil post?!?! This is akin to having a post on the front page declaring there is a war going on in Iraq. Come on ... it's been done a million times.
- CovardeAnonimo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1there's soooo many evil things you can do with a tesla coil than you can shake a stick at. definetly a digg.
- MarkUnderscore, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Digg indeed... although i probably don't have the time to make one :P
- benabbey, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I have seen one of these at work before, they are pretty neat!
