For you and I maybe. Not everyone knows what they are doing.
HB - brianjking, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I would also suggest listamatic, although all generators if they are even supplying somewhat standards based code then I am in high support of these solutions. Many dynamically created systems, CMS systems, or anything that creates data for users on the fly are horribly flawed. Also, don't get me wrong, I'm in complete support of standards based websites, although this is just one step forward!
Also you have to keep in mind that this is far better then the image map then some moron would end up using otherwise. . . especially in terms of accessibility! Thank you! (dugg++) - CreditServicer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Tried this menu generator, but it doesn't output the correct colors. Otherwise, its a good program.
- russelltaylor05, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0Nice, but not very stylish. Check out http://www.menu-generator.com
- kimastergeorge, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Meh. They're alright. Better, though, to learn to do it yourself:
http://css.maxdesign.com.au/listamatic/ - torion, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0here's another css menu generator - http://www.13styles.com
- russelltaylor05, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0A little outdated. Check out http://www.menu-generator.com
- Teh_Psyren, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0It's a nice tool but the outputted HTML is pretty shameful. It used two divs and a bunch of links when all that's needed is an ID'd unordered list. The listamatic (posted above) is a lot better.
- dknighton, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I really wish you code snobs would get over yourselves. Just because it's easy for you does not mean it is easy for everyone. You act as if HTML is your own personal province and no one else should be allowed to code for the simple fun and enjoyment of doing it.
If you've got issues with the code it generates or standards compliance, that's one thing. But don't belittle people who prefer using generators for some of the more tedious aspects of coding...or because they don't know how to do it. You people are just asses. - CrustyOldman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Really bad. It's apparent that the writer did zero testing before letting this travesty loose on the world.
He could at least have had his mother, or little sister show him where he was missing the point. "Please input the width in pixels you would like the buttons to be" indeed. - urothane, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Personally I like being a code snob. The better I make my code the better jobs I get. I don't think it is a good idea for these utilities to be out there as it makes it too easy for others to learn. They should do it the hard way like I did.
- ollance, on 12/31/2008, -0/+0Try My CSS Menu - Menu Generator, very nice

I concur. - Haplo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0@kimastergeorge
Thanks for the listamatic link, looks extremely useful (I want to change the layout of my site one day in the near future) [1]

Wow.
The fact that this site generates 2 levels of nested divs as opposed to a simple (semantically correct) <ul> shows how horrible it is.
Not to mention that it'd be better to learn to do it yourself-- properly. - joeyjojo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0"The fact that this site generates 2 levels of nested divs as opposed to a simple (semantically correct) shows how horrible it is."
Ouch. didn't notice that. Blech. - evizaer, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0The menus are trite and poorly coded. no digg.
- joeyjojo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0ack! Apoligies! This is just for standard CSS lists...not the fly-out ones. These are decent.
- Gatesophile, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Useful. Expecially if you have to "code and go," meaning if you have to put up your site really fast in order to just have it up.
- riczho, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Wow.

Most folks that use fly-out navgiation don't know what they are doing.
Fly-out menuing systems, by default, carry usability and accessibility baggage, and 95% of the solutions out there for making fly-out menus make things worse, rather than better.
I tried this site recently in my quest for a usable fly-out navigation system and, it too, failed. The ONLY two I've ever come across that are viable are these:
http://www.udm4.com (quite accessible, a bit pricey, lots of code)
http://www.projectseven.com (fairly accessible, nicely priced, including tutorials on how to build it for free)
In terms of usability and accessibility, the rest pale in comparison. - vagrantradio, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0"For you and I maybe. Not everyone knows what they are doing."
Learn how to do it instead of relying on a generator to produce poorly coded, ugly drop down menus. - moiety, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0A dash of UL, a couple spoons full of LIs, throw in some links and add CSS for flavor. A generator is hardly necessary.
- carguy84, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0pretty cool
- eastcoastweb, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0Seriously, if you don't know what your doing, maybe you shouldn't be doing it? LOL
- 2ndDairy, on 10/12/2007, -5/+0Unnecessary. These would be easy to code, anyway.
