- weirdone, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2bright orange on white isn't too pleasant on the eyes :(
- JRMillion, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I know the author from Sitepoint, so I'll digg it
- AhmedF, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1nothingbut: I don't know who michael.calfee is, but he has nothing to do with cssbasics.
I fixed the mis-spelling for you :) - analogkid, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Very nice. Simple, straightforward and easy to follow. +Digg

- skell, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Yes, very nice and simple. Pleasant on the eyes. Thanks!
- agiletech, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This is a great beginners guide to CSS - nicely laid out and straight to the point. No ads on top of that. Way cool!
- Midnightrambler, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Looks like a very well written tutorial.
- hankbeasley, on 04/22/2009, -0/+0bout time
- ctheory, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Cheers, a CSS tutorial that's really worth it's salt.
- zeeneo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0It would be great if it mentioned elements which don't work so well in IE. In a perfect browser world all these elements would work... but they don't.
- nothingbut, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Nice job.
But he should spell check it before posting..
On page 2...
"You will note that it begins with a / (forward slash) and than an * (astericks) then the comment, then the closing tag which is just backward from the opening tag * (astericks) then the / (forward slash)."
What's an astericks? Isn't that what people say when they can't pronounce, "asterisk"? - Chongo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0yeah I agree with zeeneo, everything is great except compatibility information..... Although soon we won't have to worry about that anyways.....
- rpusztai, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Very easy to follow. Thanks for the link.
- vigilanteweb, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0well done. Digg.

My thoughts exactly.... very nicely done...
SB - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0i really have to say the
ORANGE ON WHITE
is killing my eyes. Good thing for my Zap Colors favelet, God bless that little piece of JavaScript.
Suggestion:
Try finding a more relaxed color, maybe a little less saturated. - StuffMaster, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Numerous spelling/gramatical errors, but them I'm a grammar nazi
- ShaolinTiger, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Yeah I too though, yay another CSS blog *yawn*
But this is very nicely done. - 3dstuntman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0easy to read
- mercurous, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Very useful. Straight to the point. Easy reminders. Wish I can have more than 1 digg.
- 4850lu73, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Funnily enough i've been thinking all day about learning CSS, then this dropped on my lap.
Must be a sign ^_^ - Cvent, on 05/01/2008, -0/+0Good tutorial, I like the fact that they have printing options and a PDF version as well. Orange is a bit bright though.
- chicksdigme, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Been wanting to learn CSS for a while. This may just be a godsent :)

(web designer) - veracon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Looks nice, but I hate how they encourage you to use presentation elements like divisions and spans.
- pr3tard, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I was thinking about purchasing a CSS book, but I can hack through CSS just fine with the lessons learned from this tutorial. Thanks Ben Partch!
- srwilson, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This article is a pretty decent first introduction to CSS but it seems like it lacks substance. He says what kind of values you can use but not always what those values will do exactly. He could do with a lot more examples IMO.
- wanglaoban, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Well Done!!
digg++ - floam, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1This isn't news. This is a tutorial.
- BryanTheCrow, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Not bad for n00bs... The site I still recommend to anyone wanting to a good reference for getting started in basic web technologies is: http://www.w3schools.com
- paul555, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0CSS is easy as pie.
- quade, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0This is great. My boss has been asking for a beginner's guide that I could write for my company's noobs, and now I don't have to. :)
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Digg would make a casual observer think 99% of IT work deals with CSS
