- cpritchard, on 10/12/2007, -3/+47The submitter, 2nd and 3rd replier all joined Digg yesterday, and have Dugg and commented on one story...WHAT A COINCIDENCE!
- paulmdx, on 10/12/2007, -4/+21And how is RedSteel.co.uk any different to cybersquating?
- ChrisAlbon, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8I totally agree. That is why I started HErBalz-ViAgrAs-Sex-SeX-Russian-Mp3-Free-Moviez.com. My site, HErBalz-ViAgrAs-Sex-SeX-Russian-Mp3-Free-Moviez.com is not about making money but rather for my lifelong passion for Herbal Viagra, Sex, Mp3s, and Movies. This is a topic I have been exploring but personally and professionally for a long time and I think it shows in HErBalz-ViAgrAs-Sex-SeX-Russian-Mp3-Free-Moviez.com. I hate all these spammers and money grubbing morons who think they can come in and write about Herbal Viagra, Sex, Mp3s, and Movies without a true passion for the topic.
- digitalchaos666, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9what better way to indirectly generate traffic to your site than posting a tutorial then putting it on digg?
- lindmar, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9lol
spam
funny
Really a coincidence they all just joined and all really enjoyed the article! - violentvinyl, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7That's not exactly a niche, but he did neglect to mention how he intends to rank in the top 10 in Google, that seems like the most important part. Is he going to put his link in Wikipedia? How does the fact that Wikipedia is in the top 5 correspond to him making the top 10?
- Pushkin, on 10/12/2007, -4/+11Why are you complaining? It seems to me the link delivers solid info - I am intrigued myself and will come back to see the next instalment.
Dugg - Pimpalicious316, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7it appears that he is doing this article "live", as in he just registered it and is making the blog postings as he updates. what is currently at that domain might be the default page for his hosting company until he sets up the site. or he is an evil wombat hell bent on world domination through niche minisites. /me shrugs
- NapoleonGold, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8well i didn't know that was how a websites traffic worked with revenue,
so ya I dug it because I am just starting a art site.
So sorry that this is hard information to come across when you don't know where to look for it.
It may be spam but it is informative, and tell me the difference between google making money with others information and this? - BIGmog, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Presumably he'll post some actual content about the game.
- Zipp425, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5I personally think this guide is better...
http://monetaryweb.com/creating-a-money-making-site/
Its more complete and guides even idiots through the process. - alainb, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6Yorn: so making your website get better search results is somehow just behind spamming? I guess you must hate the majority of web developers out there. If I were you, I'd turn off your computer quick before you start lashing out...oh too late.
Personally, Im not opposed to SEO as long as it is being used for websites that have some true value.
But seriously, SEO is always something to seriously consider if anyone is planning on making a niche website. Niche websites don't get much traffic as it is, since not many people are searching for it. Getting into the Top Ten of any search results could mean the difference of success or failure.
The article also raises some great points on indentifying niches and monetization techniques. I never heard of Commision Junction before. - WildTang3nt, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7He must be raking in tons of money from people going to see redsteel.co.uk. Friggin profiteering spammers...
- fivehorizons, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4He obviously isn't too confident this little 'niche' site will be making much money. Look at the lower right hand portion of his webpage.
"The owner of redsteel.co.uk is offering it for sale for an asking price of 200 $US!" - ifoundgodot, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6I'd wager that most of the people here complaining about spam and such are just jealous that this guy is getting clicks and making some money, and they aren't :)
- ozziegt, on 10/12/2007, -7/+10Digging down as spam
- bootlick, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4For the nay-sayers, I never claim to be pulling in millions. I'm writing part 2 of the article now and the site will be up for all of you to criticize by the end of the day. The point of making a niche minisite isn't to retire, it's to generate some solid passive income while doing little to no work. Also, the domain was for sale for $200 before I decided to develop it. After I'm finished developing this site I plan to have it earning about $100 off of organic traffic only. Like I said, it's nothing to retire on, but it's good money for the little work you have to do to get it.
- theDevilsDue, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Argh. Just another layer of useless ***** someone has to sort through in their quest for useful information.
- congruence, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5There's no easy money. Why not build something of value, that actually helps people, instead of trying to "monetize" everything? Is that really the best this guy's brain can come up with, ways to scam a few pennies from some clicks?
And apparently he's not even successful at this, because he's resorted to the fallback "tell others how to . . ." business model so prevalent on the Internet.
These guys are the telemarketers of the Web, and the whole racket is predicated on the ignorance of those not experienced enough to recognize these as spam sites (much like the domain-squatting "search" sites designed to churn and burn traffic). - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I've had some natural wikipedia links to my adult website, directly to reviews of sites, and it didn't affect my rankings in google for those terms afaik.
- amwmedia, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4Wow, a tutorial on how to create internet clutter! GREAT!
- mumbler, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3This sounds lame even to me, but I'd rather visit a site where the content is a passion for the owner more than making money. I think if you want to make money and therefore decide to provide a little content it shows.
- Zipp425, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Someone submitted it to digg it...
http://digg.com/software/How_to_make_a_money_making_niche_website/who - jannefoo, on 10/12/2007, -8/+9***** spammers..
- pleasureman, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3"One of the rules I follow when making a niche site is that usually if Wikipedia appears within the top 5 results on Google, I can get my minisite to show up in the top 10 (after it gets out of the sandbox)"
I would LOVE to see that guy make a mini site on "Online Poker" and rank for it in the top 10. Wikipedia is #2, so there's a great chance, right? Doh! - bootlick, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Building a Niche Minisite (Part 2) is up:
http://www.netbusinessblog.com/2007/01/10/building-a-niche-minisite-part-2/ - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2It's all about Niche, with this users. :)
- supermanKD, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Yorn's comment is over generalized but SEO's are known to hurt the internet experience time and time again. If SE's didn't have to fight SEO's just trying to trick people into making them a quick buck imagine how much more useful a simple google search would become
- ThrasherC, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Will it tell me a good niche to target? I've trying to figure that out for years.
- deanshultz, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2seems like good ol' marketing to me. i commend the author for adding another value-layer, as his tutorial is generating traffic to his site. furthermore, the tutorial itself is useful, imho, for its simple, methodical, approach.
is it breakthrough information? no. but it does add value to the users' experience, if that user is looking for whatever the name of the game was. Dugg for simpleness of method, and the cleverness of getting diggers to generate traffic on a work in progress. - Pushkin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I read part 2 as well.
Well written, interesting and no, I did not know all of it since my sites are not overly SEO'd (yet) I do not do commercial sites (yet) - bysubmitted, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1His article (via Digg) seems to have crashed the Overture tool.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3I agree. I'm all for capitalism... But that's when there's an actual product or service to sell. Tricking people into viewing ads isn't capitalism, that's just dishonest.
- chubbyfunk, on 10/12/2007, -6/+6You think a "niche minisite" would have some useful info.. This is a spam site.
- getrecognized, on 02/12/2009, -0/+0It's a good read. It can be helpful to some.
http://www.moneyiseverywhere.com/ - ThrasherC, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Ha! It will! At least, sort-of. +Digg Good article.
- xybermatthew, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Yes, great read, thanks.
- nshop2, on 02/03/2009, -0/+0Nice review... I liked it.

- bubbadoo989, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2Pretty light reading, lot's of obvious stuff. Wish I though to write this stuff down! Digg++
- valy8851, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Design + niche are the keywords!
A question: is about classic site or a blog like a site? - Javlington, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0Consider, for example, Firefox & AdBlock users that thankfully never see Google ads again...
- Vandelay797, on 10/12/2007, -5/+3i can't wait to see more of this story.

- Yorn, on 10/12/2007, -19/+14No it's not great info, it's SEO, which are the scum of the earth, just behind spammers.
- UltimaNut, on 10/12/2007, -10/+4This is lame *****.
@Pushkin -"It seems to me the link delivers solid info - "
LOL. If you didnt know any of this crap at all you should NOT be starting a website. Soild info my ass.
Please digg, stop with the blog *****!! - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -23/+5Excellent post. A nice keep it simple method.
