    And speaking of hotels, are those run by the only people on the planet who will actually buy Zenith TVs? I never see them anywhere else...

  • CraigCarlyle, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5When I was in Europe last summer, there was a small hotel chain called "High Tech Hotels." I stayed in one in Madrid.

    It was very cool, LEDs everywhere and a modern look. Free Internet via WiFi or Ethernet Jacks. Two LCDs in each room.

    It was cheap too, around $90 CDN a night.

  • aristotle0dude, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Most hotels in the cities of Canada have Ethernet or Wireless. All Ramada hotels I've stayed in while in Vancouver on business had fast "free" wireless through Fatport.

    I found that some of the "fancy" hotel lacked internet in the rooms or charged extra as they usually cater to the executive business traveller with "people" tagging along to do all the paper work.

  • noopan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0 A lot of love hotels in Japan have plasma screens, Internet access, game consoles, karaoke, DVD & VHS players, cable radio, microwaves, bar fridges, lighting controls into the bed, room-service that you order via the remote control, "fashion shopping" (dildo) vending machines, rainbow lit Jacuzzis with TVs and Washlette toilets.

    Problem is that probably won't let you in solo.

    I've never understood why the more you pay for a room, the more you're going to be nickeled-and-dimed to death by the hotel. You'd think it'd be the other way around... hotels should either charge Hilton-level room rates and provide free WiFi, or lure customers with cheap room rates and charge them for each square of toilet paper.

    Hotel Raddison in Toronto , cant remember the location but there was a convention center outside. There's no Wifi and the only internet connection is in the small lobby. Its in the middle of the city too hahaha.
