- imightbewrong, on 10/12/2007, -0/+25this one's perspective is possibly even more amazing http://users.skynet.be/J.Beever/waterfall.html
- millixaw, on 10/12/2007, -4/+28It's great work but it's odd the method he does it. It only works from one perspective. From the wrong angle (or even overhead) it looks distorted. The artist even says so, and explains.

Holy chalk-drawing, Batman! - smohan123, on 10/12/2007, -0/+15It took me a few minutes to look at the rest of the photo and realize that it was a perspective and it was drawn on the sidewalk... I was looking at the drawn sidewalk as the real thing and wondering why he was perched so high on that narrow ledge...
That's a ***** if I've seen one. - MacPPC, on 10/12/2007, -2/+16Amazing art, but why is it under Tech news?
- there4iam, on 10/12/2007, -4/+15A dupe . . . on Digg?! . . . never!

and his personal website with more drawings: http://users.skynet.be/J.Beever/ - Klarth, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10The fact that you have seen this before is not the be all and end all as far as the rest of the internet is concerned. Is there really any kind of merit in preventing people from checking out the same stuff you've already seen?
I've seen this guy's stuff quite a few times, but I'm glad to have been reminded of it today. Dugg. - Cytranic, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7How about you and the other 7 people above you start a "group" and figure it out...Keep us updated.
- NikZ, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Kurt Wenner, incidentally, was the guy responsible for the huge Gears of War mural at E3 '06. http://www.joystiq.com/2006/05/14/e3-gears-of-war-mural-completed/
/trivia - msafi, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8milixaw, of course, unless it's real 3D there's no way it can look right from all angles. Just look at it from the right angle and be amazed.
- Toupee, on 10/12/2007, -3/+8None of those made it to the front page. I'm sure glad it finally did because this guy's art is incredible.
- aristotle1990, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6This is the craziest thing I've ever seen. His foot really looks like it's below his body.

I want to see those other 359 angles. - yakk0dotorg, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7is that Jay and Silent Bob on the ground below Batman and Robin?
- iFelix, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Remember the original Geekforlife sold his Digg identity on eBay for $710...

The person now posting under the GFL identity has only been using this account for a couple of months! - lsdeath, on 10/12/2007, -5/+10Start the countdown till the next time we see this.
- imightbewrong, on 10/12/2007, -11/+16it's Julian Beever...he's amazing!
- KRH03, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4The thing I like about browsing digg is that I get introduced to cool websites & subjects totally outside my normal interest group. Thanks for the link!
Oops...suppose to be a reply to millixaw & the author's homepage. - iFelix, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6http://users.skynet.be/J.Beever/portable.htm
- JugularBean, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3It's insane how these guys get the perspective right. If you see the thing from the wrong side it's so bizarre! How do they visualise it.
- robbo11a, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3MANCHESTER, U.K.... The Batman n Robin pic was done a few weeks back here in Manchester's city centre, and made the local news!
- mentat, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Gotham, duh. Because we all know no crime worthy of Batman exists outside of Gotham (unless, of course, he's with the Super Friends)
- jmikola, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4if anyone's into this type of perspective art, you might want to check out Kurt Wenner as well: http://www.kurtwenner.com/
his themes are much less modern than Beever's work, and almost Renaissance-styled. - donkeycrock, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3im glad they where reposted, never saw it the first time.
- trancient, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Yes the work from this artist is well circulated on the internets.
Still, he's an amazing talent and mind. He needs to be talked about. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Ive seen these heaps of times, but i NEVER get sick of them, that guy has some bloody serious talent
- theacademy, on 10/12/2007, -7/+9That was absolutely amazing.
The guy who did that is very talented. - distrbnce, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3this guy rocks, i just wish i could see one in person.
what city is he in anyway? - foamy101, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1No offence but this guy needs a girlfriend
- indigau, on 10/12/2007, -4/+5Not a bad point, but it IS under tech>design --- you could say his technical understanding of perspective and design is exquisite. I would.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Um, there's only one angle to look at these drawings from. Every other angle looks like *****..so there's no point in seeing the other 359 angles. His website has a few photos of other angles so you can see what I mean.
- UltraPope, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I saw an ad for a local telco made like this.
Well, it could have been an ad; the chalk drawing was of the view from where you had to stand to appreciate the drawing; there was a billboard for the telco visible from there. - twistymcgee, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Any of you "old/dupe" police notice you constantly seem to get a negative digg score on your comments? Just wondering if it's really worth the comment. It really wastes our time that's for sure.
- b_timmins, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2You can also see commercial use of this technique at sports events such as European soccer and rugby. They typically paint "3D" advertising hoardings on the ground behind or near the goalposts which look perfect only when viewed from the camera at the centre of the pitch which typically zooms in on goalmouth action.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3all that hard work just to get washed down the drain when it rains :(
- board2, on 02/22/2008, -0/+1That's great find

There's loads more, but there's just too many covers on Superdickery to find the needles. Awesome site, though.

- tektalk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1It felt like looking at a water puddle and seeing another world
- totorototoro, on 10/12/2007, -4/+4very nice-has anyone ever seen these in real life? is there really only one sweet spot to view these from?

- tafkase7en, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2How many times can this be posted on digg?
- mentat, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2It's great and all, but he forgot to illustrate the strings and today's celebrity sticking their head out the window, saying something mildly witty ;)
