      Can you elaborate. I'm not aware of anything Silverlight can do that Flash 9 can't. Even 3d seemed to run slower in some of the WPF/E examples I've tried when compared to papervision examples of similar complexity.

    • sarno, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3How about trying a new concept and BUY it! Maybe Adobe wouldn't have to charge so much for their software if you would just purchase it. I'm sure you could find someone with a student discount to help you. It's almost half the price with the education discount!

      Their website says it's shipping now. Their store was down on monday night, and was up again yesterday saying that everything is already shipping.
  • bbxboy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Too bad you can't create a dock on a second monitor (one without the menubar) in the Mac version of Photoshop CS3. Seems like a major oversight to me considering just about every professional worth his/her salt has ben running Photoshop with multiple monitor setups for years now.

    I skipped the Dreamweaver 8 upgrade in anticipation for the next generation (CS3) knowing the merger would produce something great. However I watched the CSS video and the interface is much like the on in MX2004, and I don't find it all that productive.

    im thinking positive...maybe adobe screwed up the actionscript on their tutorial page and the new features of after effects were overlayed by other tutorials.

    • geoken, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3FWI, if you have multiple tabs open and you hit the reply button and get sent to the login screen you wont get sent back to the page you came from after you login. Instead you'll get sent to whatever page was on the most recent tab you opened.

    • FunkyG, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I have to say that this is a bad start for Adobe with Dreamweaver and Flash, if you have to try to work out how to run the videos without having multiple copies open. I had the same problem too and found them unwatchable.
      BTW - Does anyone else think that the Adobe website has gone downhill since it Macromedia-ised it?

  • estacado, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2This is crap. It's a streaming vid. You cannot let it load fully then watch everything smoothly. It forces you to watch with the buffer stops. Better not watch it at all if connection is slow.
