- nicktheawesome, on 10/13/2007, -2/+21These are so far fetched it is a joke.
"Toyota’s BioMobile Mecha is a vehicle that uses pollution as an energy source. “It is able to autonomously adapt to its driving environment by utilizing its four nano-laser wheels."
So laser wheels kill pollution and make it go? Totally makes sense. - maninalift, on 10/15/2007, -0/+17nanolaser wheels? It's one thing to design beyond the limits of current technology but this is just making stuff up.
"we can reconfugure the wheels because they are made of light, you know like a lightsaber"
"how the hell do you do that"
"well you know... nanotechnology and lasers and stuff" - inactive, on 10/14/2007, -2/+17# 5 Mazda Motonari RX
Looks like Mazda6 put through a steel crusher. Who the ***** dreams this ***** up, horrible. - inactive, on 10/13/2007, -0/+13Yeah really lets just draw a new crazy design and make up terms to describe how it works.
- norcal311, on 10/15/2007, -0/+10I think the Honda team is playing to much WipeOut...
- Konstantino, on 10/14/2007, -0/+8And my god, the Mazda Motonari RX scares the hell out of me.
- inactive, on 10/13/2007, -0/+7how about "new design powers the car with steorn orbo technology, and runs on linux, comes with a free copy of duke nukem forever, President Ron Paul approves this design"
- olegk, on 10/14/2007, -2/+91. Can't see *****. Impossible to park. Will get into a car accident in the first 10 minutes of driving.
2. In any car accident you die instantly.
3. What the hell is this?
4. Race car from 1920s?
5. Yay! I'm driving a paper car!
6. My car doesn't have any wheels, but produces tons of black smoke.
7. Same as #2, but also everyone makes fun of your "car" that "combines a car and a pet".
8. In any car accident you kill everyone else. Cops try to save you, cutting through the metal, but there's not enough time, you burn alive. - vulcanius, on 10/13/2007, -0/+5Those asshats should quit wasting time daydreaming and design a better engine.
- strOphe, on 10/15/2007, -0/+5As a scifi writer I find those written descriptions laughably juvenile.
These aren't even like concept cars, there's no science concept to them. Read the Toyota description. They just stick the word nano in there and say "it runz on teh pollutes, see!11" - CelebVoy, on 10/15/2007, -0/+5Where we are going, we won't need roads
- KingBunny, on 10/13/2007, -0/+5I was pre-emptively going to comment "Sweet! No magic laser cars!" ... but then I actually looked.. they even included the magic laser car at the bottom of the magic space-ship-robot cars.
They looked cool though. (but so does the USS Enterprise.. stick the label "concept" on it and it's about as realistic) - 2shae, on 10/13/2007, -1/+5The Nissan OneOne is probably the best (for parking :P)
- gamemaster357, on 10/13/2007, -0/+4toyota looks insane
- misterqed, on 10/14/2007, -0/+3Certainly the worse Digg I have ever followed. I think who ever judged and entered this contest should be hunted down and be beaten to death with a Physics book, or alternately I would like to enter. My entry is this ".", a black body sphere that doesn't have to roll because it travels across space along vibrating quantum strings. It runs on the only infinite quantity in the Universe because it is powered by stupidity. Instead of headlights, it has a field generator that preemptively mutes morons who attempt to spout meaningless tech speak, thus it spreads intelligence everywhere it goes.
The only one of these entries that showed any intelligence was the Nissan OneOne for the skating drive. That idea is old but it is the only spark of hope in this mess. - mtxe, on 10/13/2007, -2/+5The SilverFlow reminds me of Queen Amidala's ship.
- SEN5241, on 10/15/2007, -0/+3I guess the original source shut off your hotlinks....
- TheCount, on 10/15/2007, -1/+4Concept cars are all stupid, it's just a form of masturbation. I'm so sick and tired of seeing all these nice, but completely impratical, cars at car shows that never make it to anyone's driveway, or in the RARE case they do, they look nothing like the concept because all concept cars cost 1-2 million to make, but the real thing has to sell for $27,000
- emptyo, on 10/15/2007, -0/+3Good to see we have such forward thinkers here on Digg. I thought they were cool. I guess you missed the "concept" portion of the story. You sound like old codgers probably sounded when we switched from horses to cars.
- sl9sl9, on 10/15/2007, -0/+2***** YOU
***WARNING*** link contains malware, "setup.exe" = Trojan-Downloader.Win32.Zlob.dkc - CelebVoy, on 10/13/2007, -0/+2What happens when worldwide pollution doesn't exist anymore?
- Cramit, on 10/13/2007, -0/+2The Nissan OneOne was developed by none other then Bruce Campbell :-)
- DryerCombo, on 10/14/2007, -1/+3The Honda looks pretty awesome.

Hmmmm........ - wassim2k, on 10/14/2007, -0/+1Every car looks like a red X
- joshuaer, on 10/13/2007, -0/+1concepts are cool and on i just wish they would build some of them!
- PresidentGas, on 10/13/2007, -0/+1The mazda is a brute chopper
- KingGorilla, on 10/13/2007, -0/+1Mazda Motonari RX looks like a decepticon
- domokunt, on 10/13/2007, -0/+1And not an SUV among them, where will the fat americans go?
- Error601, on 10/13/2007, -0/+1They should change the title to "If Science Fiction Cover Artists Designed Cars".
- inactive, on 10/13/2007, -0/+1Does toyota have a tank with sharks in it... with lasers on their heads?
- endlessoul, on 10/13/2007, -0/+1I saw that too! Here I am, thinking "Bubba Ho-Tep designs CARS?"
- Samurai77, on 10/13/2007, -0/+0Did you get a load of the Honda "Voltron" it is 4 separate vehicles in one, allowing you to use HOV lanes until you get near work, then separate.
- SEN5241, on 10/13/2007, -1/+1Where are the pics? Digg effect after 88 diggs?
- elucubra, on 10/13/2007, -0/+0I wanted to comment, but I'm speechless....
reminds me of stuff I doodled while in civics class in the back of a notebook, only done by grown-ups and SHOWN IN PUBLIC fer crissakes!! - bobbySR, on 10/13/2007, -7/+1Well, when is in the shape of a ship :)) But you are quite right, it does remind of Amidala's ship :)
